Love and death in the Bermuda Triangle...

Greta Gallagher is TRAIT's secret weapon. With her uncanny ability to sense trouble before it even happens, she's an invaluable asset to the team and her partner, Nico Tancredi. Except that ever since she botched the last mission, her “gift” has been completely MIA...and she needs Nico's help to find it again .

Nico has the ability to manipulate anyone except Greta. His challenge is to figure out how her mind works, without letting their attraction—unspoken and untried—get in the way. It does...and it's more intense than either of them imagined. But deep in the waters of the Bermuda Triangle, a terrifying secret waits for them both. A secret that doesn't just threaten their love, but their lives...and the very heart of TRAIT itself.

I think this might be my favorite installment of the series—the way it wrapped up all the prior books and had mini cameos from some of the other characters hit all the right notes. I loved the James-Bond-style spy parts as well as the character development, and the friends-to-lovers romance was perfectly sweet. (And a couple of times very spicy.) Additionally, though I didn't see it ever called out, Greta reads to me as an autistic woman and that representation was great to see in a main character. (Actually, it might be better rep for NOT being called out. She just is who she is, and if an underrepresented group can see themselves in her, all the better.)

The paranormal aspect is a little stronger in this installment than the others, as far as I recall, since this time both of our main characters have some kind of "thing" that sets them apart—Greta can see patterns in events in a way that average people can't, and Nico is incredibly persuasive when he wants to be, able to persuade (nearly) anyone of something that they don't actively object to doing. However, this is not the standard PRN with werewolves or vampires or really even zombies. (Yes, I know, they call some of the bad guy characters zombies. They aren't actually zombies.) You could read this without being a PNR fan and still very much enjoy the ride.

A sort-of interesting read, well-written with a kind of fluid urgency that I've come to associate with Seleste deLaney's prose and entirely appropriate for the genre. But not being able to remember the previous books in the series placed me at a serous disadvantage here, because of the numerous references to the events that I simply couldn't keep track of. I did appreciate both characters though: Nico and Greta are fairly likeable, and there're no eye-rolling moments, over-emotional angst and second-guessing about their relationship once they got the ball rolling. However, I wasn't entirely too sure about the 'gifts' that both of them bring to the story - they sounded like hokey-pokey to me, to be honest - and the large-scale conspiracy seems a little too ridiculous for me to suspend my disbelief (zombie-ish attacks after a super-soldier program went wrong!), even for a hardcore Marvel fan such as me.

That being said, there're actions scenes galore, a quirky puzzle to figure out and even if I didn't quite think it worked for me, others who could appreciate a little more left-field stories would like this book.

This was definitely a story you had to pay attention to in order to understand all the lingo. Greta was a genius to me with all her calculating and visualizing patterns. Nick was super suave with his people skills. They truly made a formidable team. I enjoyed reading about their bond. They both wanted to learn to know the other. Very sweet. They worked so well together. This was an interesting story with very well written twists and freaky things. I was not expecting the outcome that the book had. The epilogue was romantically nerdy and sweet.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

Note: This ARC was provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

As soon as I finished reading Dying for Keeps, the fourth and what I presume is the final novel in author Seleste deLaney's Agents of TRAIT romantic suspense series, the first thought in my head was "And THAT is how you end with a bang!" Not once while reading the series that I ever catch on how everything tied together and how darn complex the conspiracy theory involved was going to be. I'm usually on-point when it comes to stuff like that and either I was utterly clueless or Seleste deLaney simply did a spectacular job distracting me with specifics and details that I never saw the bigger picture. With that being said, I'm going to highly recommend that you read the books in order because yes, they are all connected to one another.

To be honest, Greta Gallagher would never have been the first agent that would pop in my head if you asked me who I thought in TRAIT would save the United States (and possibly the rest of the world). She's been a recurring character from the very beginning and while her gift makes her a unique asset, she's always been somewhat in the periphery. Nico Tancredi became her partner in the third book and his ability to manipulate people is one that doesn't work on Greta, which I think would have helped him with asking her out early on. Their partnership is well-balanced, with Greta being the more serious and logical one between the two and Nico being the one who's able to make her take a step back whenever necessary.

There are twists and turns in this book that I didn't expect and I will always give credit to the author when they're able to do that. This series ender took everything to a higher level and kept me on my toes from start to finish. With each new book that has come along in the Agents of TRAIT series, the story just seemed to keep getting better, and now, it ends on a spectacularly creative and original note. Of course, I could be wrong and there may be another book waiting in the wings, but Dying for Keeps wrapped everything up, leaving nothing hanging, and I have no complaints with how the series is ending, if that is indeed the case. The series gets an overall rating of four stars but Dying for Keeps does receive five stars. ♥

In this story we get the tie in of all the previous stories along with seeing each character for a few. This is definitely Greta and Nico's story but it's a bonus to see the others one last time with them.

I smiled the whole way through this story. I enjoy the chemistry between the characters as they stand their own as an individual, love each other for it, and compromise with the one they come so close to. And the geek references are always awesome!

****FULL REVIEW****
Again, the synopsis does very well by the book so I'm not going to reiterate what's there.

Greta is special. She might have issues socializing and a few OCD's but she's got a knack for finding cases TRAIT needs to follow through on. Greta's ability to see patterns tells her something is off in the cases lately. But she has no evidence of a mission to go on to stop it, and prove it's really something going on. Greta's determined to find that something and solve what's going on. Greta references all three cases we've read in the series and that they shouldn't have fallen to TRAIT to solve. I like the quick touch of memory for the previous books, especially since this is the last of the series.

Now, pair Greta with Nico who is special in his own way. He vocally can influence people to do what they already want to do, but stop from doing it. He has a grand ability to communicate!

These two don't seem as they should be a perfect pair at first, but as I read I felt they were the heads and tails of the same coin. They completed the others ability were the other was a bit lacking. Their personalities compliment each other well too.

In this story we get the tie in of all the previous stories along with seeing each character for a few. This is definitely Greta and Nico's story but it's a bonus to see the others one last time with them.

The series are HEA books for the characters, which makes me happy too. It's sad to see the series end as I've enjoyed the fun of it each time.

This book is part of a series called Agents of TRAIT. I hadn't read any of the other books in this series, but I didn't have any trouble reading this as a standalone. I quickly figured out that TRAIT was a secret agency with agents whose abilities lay outside the realm of normal. Nico has the ability to alter something in his voice and convince people to open to his suggestions. His partner, Greta, can see the patterns in everything. She is the primary finder of cases for TRAIT. Nico has been attracted to Greta for a while. Greta is oblivious even though she thinks she may have some feelings Nico. Greta doesn't like to be touched and is extremely literal and detailed. She reads like someone who is autistic, highly intelligent but lacking people skills and subtlety.

Greta becomes upset when she begins to struggle to find patterns in recent events. She is convinced this warrants looking into and may making something big and dangerous. Unfortunately, no one is listening except Nico. He offers to help her as a way to see if he can better understand how her mind works...and also just to be closer to her. When their teamwork yields results, they lobby for permission to formally investigate. The trail takes them to the middle of the ocean right inside the Bermuda Triangle and into the middle of a huge political and scientific conspiracy. At this point, the danger increases exponentially, and though the timing may be inconvenient, so does their attraction to each other. I love how they both felt so misunderstood by their families but came to understand each other perfectly.

Overall, it was a great suspense with a very slight out of the norm, but not quite paranormal, vibe. It also has some funny moments related to Greta's creative usage of com's.

Don't know how I missed this author before now. I say this because of how quickly this author pulled me in, my kind of story too I enjoy reading, wrapped the characters around me and away I went. With authors I have not read before I find that I enter in cautiously at first then see where it goes. Not so with this author. Greta caught my attention right away she was so intriguing and her partner was humorous and different then her but seemed just right. They each had their own talents that classified them as misfits with a band of misfits was with this agency TRAIT that until now was hush hush. With her senses on alert she can not let it go that something is not right and with Nico's guidance and his charm they do find a clue. Also they have a relationship that will begin on another level that will also keep you entranced. Very exhilarating mission that was refreshing in the way it was written because it kept me interested and intrigued largely because I could not guess it right away either. I certainly did not expect what they do find and still keep reading. Danger and death on their tails keeps you amped as you read with the intensity of their relationship that fits them to a tee. As a saying goes even though I am last to the party as such this is the last one in the series it makes me sad I missed the first ones but oh joy did not miss this one. They bring it all together unveiling the bigger picture in the style to this group with one of the best endings I have read in awhile to wrap up a series.

This was fast paced, intriguing and had a resolution I did not expect. so much action, danger and passion in this book.

I fell in love with Nico. He was in love with Greta and didn’t know how to approach her. He was her partner but she was different. She challenged him and at times was quite insensitive. He was kind and patient. Loyal and always there for her. He understood her better than she understood herself sometimes. That made him a perfect match for her. too bad she had no idea what to do. I think this was what hurt her the most her confusion. She knew he believed in her and wanted to help her but she didn’t trust his emotions or hers for that matter.

Greta was one who lived in the world of patterns and in her mind. If something was outside a pattern she didn’t really understand. She was lost and Nico was one she was lost on. She was afraid of what she felt and how to act. He was her rock and losing him would crush her. She took awhile to realize his feelings but when she did wow. The passion erupted and it was great to see.

The plot was intriguing. You never really got a true grasp until the end. Bits and pieces were dangled in front of you but putting the pieces together happened with the characters so it was like you were in the story living the moments as they happened.

A great fast paced passionate story of two people who are partners and much more. They rely on each other to help solve a dangerous mystery that could hurt many while they explore what they are to one another.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the final book in the TRAIT series and boy does it go out with a Bang! I highly recommend reading the first three so you can enjoy how all the missions in each book match up. and to be honest I think I was so distracted by all the shiny and suspense and all the full on action that I didn't think about the fact that it would ALL lead up to a Grande Finale. But to talk about DFK.

We've seen hints of Greta in the other books and Nico we met in Fighting for Keeps. I've been wanting to know how Greta works (she sees patterns where no one else could and see how they are related)and Nico has VERY good people skills, not a liar but he convince people, very well to his side of thinking. You don't think they're right for a partnership but once they're both in sync and Nico shows Greta she understands her? BOOM! they are perfect!

With all the action flying around I couldn't quite figure how everything matched up, or how everything was going to fixed and TRAIT to save the day. But it was awesome and I loved every moment and I was all "What's happening?!" and terrified for the characters.

Read the first three, Gaming for Keeps, Conning for Keeps and Fighting for Keeps and you will enjoy the Grande Finale a heck of a lot more.

This is the final title in the TRAIT series and it's definitely one of my favourites. Although ask me to list them 1-4 and I'd have difficulty - I've honestly liked the entire series.

One thing I loved about this particular title is it doesn't use one of the most common romance tropes - one of the characters has a secret they're not telling the other and you just know the wronged party is going to find out and it'll cause tension between them that they'll have to work past. I hate that plotline and feel it gets way overused but thankfully not in this book.

Greta and Nico are determined to find the link between all the latest TRAIT cases and find out what's going on above TRAIT's head. The whole TRAIT agency works as a team to help and all the previous books get tied together. It's actually a nice ending to the series, there are no open endings and everything's finished up.

.....Except I still want my Marron story!

I've really enjoyed this series and am kind of sad to see it end even though deLaney has done a fantastic job at doing so. I recommend this series to anyone looking for some fun, short and sexy reads.

An exciting romantic suspense with a little bit extra.
Greta Gallagher is an agent of TRAIT this is a super secret agency where all the agents have special abilities. Greta sees patterns in everything. This helps her predict where problems are coming from, hopefully in time to catch the bad guys. This does not make her easy to be around. She is very intelligent , but does not always understand people .
Nico Trancredi has been partnered with Greta. His ability is his voice. He can persuade people to obey him. They are working to find the origin of several unusual events, that Greta is convinced are connected, but can't find the pattern to. The chemistry between them does not help concentration .
With the government pulling on the purse strings, when Greta and Nico think they have found the source , they need to investigate on their own.
High powered political ambition, clandestine experiments and raging hormones all play a big part in this story. There was a time I was telling the characters "no, no, don't go there" but of course just like a horror film they go anyway. I think I will have to go back and read the books that came before this in the series.

Greta Gallagher is an agent of TRAIT (a super secret agency where all the agents have special abilities)
Greta sees patterns in everything. This helps her predict where problems are coming from. She is very intelligent but she lacks the skills to be very successful in her social life.

Nico Trancredi is chosen to work with Greta. His ability is his voice. He can persuade people to do as he asks only with his voice. The chemistry between them is great but it also creates problems. I enjoyed it. Fast paced and easy to read it.

Strange, unclear, and hazy. Greta works for a secret government department called TRAIT she looks for patterns within crimes to solve them. She has a great track record. Nico her partner can convince people to let him do what he wants them to. He has been assigned to learn how to do what Greta does. So far Greta cannot find the pattern in the new cases that are showing up on her desk until one night Nico suggests a new way of looking at it. Once they get a line on a trail they are surprised to find out what is blocking them from pursuing it. The book is unclear as to what year it is taking place. Sometimes it is hazy as to changes in storyline. The romance is good and the general science fiction was good.

I really enjoyed the first 2/3 of this book. Although I have not read all the books in this series, it was easy to follow. Greta was an interesting character. Her colleagues value her ability to find patterns in events that others can not find, but that trait and her social skills lead the reader to believe she is probably somewhere on the autism spectrum. It was refreshing that any sort of diagnosis was not overtly stated and Nico found these traits endearing. Nico and Greta's interactions and the mystery up until they were really engaging. After that, I felt less tension to find out what would happen.

This is the last book in the Agents of TRAIT series. I would recommend reading the other books before this one but it is not necessary. I thought this story got off to a slow start but I understand it was must to set up the chemistry and background of Greta and Nico. However, once the story got rolling and the action began, I couldn't put it down. The action is fast paced and suspenseful. The secondary characters add a spark of humor. And, Ms. deLaney does an excellent job of bringing it all together.

Couldn't Hold My Interest Greta had a gift of being able to pinpoint trouble and had been hired by TRAIT for that reason. Her partner is Nico, who has the ability to manipulate anyone except Greta. They are both attracted to each other.
I read 1/3 of this book and it just didn't keep my interest.
