I really enjoyed Lightning and The Face of Fear. I enjoyed The Vision until it was revealed what specifically had happened to the main character as a child by the perpetrator. This part was presented in disturbingly detailed fashion, too deranged for me. Beware if you are squeamish.
Overall I'm giving this a 5star rating because 2 of the 3 stories for me were 5 star. I had mentiioned previously what my ratings of the first two books were and the final book; The Vison is a 5 star.
Lightning; I liked because of how unique the story was.
The Face of Fear; was interesting and I liked the character direction, the storyline, and the way it all flowed.
The Vision; I have the same thoughts for as I do with The Face of Fear though I figured out who the killer was before they mentioned it. Despite the attempts to throw off the scent it just made sense...I've listened to too many true crimes...I might have a problem.
I read to page 220, but when the explanation and discription about climbing equipment arose, I started skimming the rest of the novel, because it was quite predictable.
I have read several books by this author, but this is not one that I enjoyed. I bought this novel but ended up keeping it for quite a while before I read the book.
I doubt that I will be reading the other 2 books in this trilogy.
I read the face of fear and it was a alright thriller, koontz has wrote better in my opinion. The thrill At the ending was kind of exciting. Again it was a pretty vaguer story at parts, but it is a good read for the constant reader. 3/5
My favorite was Lightning. Completely unexpected and a great read. Loved the characters, storyline and ending. A fun read. The Face of Fear and The Vision were not my favorites by Koontz. I recommend just reading Lightning.
