Us Against Everybody #1

Us Against Everybody: A Detroit Love Tale

Rate this book
Love is a funny thing. Without notice, it creeps up on you and takes over every rational decision you make. Without thought, you're willing to do whatever necessary to be with the one who's stolen your heart. Even if that means risking your life, and being cut off from family in the process. And for Vice, that was a loss Storm was willing to take.

After giving up on finding true love, the handsome and captivating, Vice crosses the threshold of Storm's heart. As destiny would have it, the couple contributes glee and cherishing moments to each other lives -putting an end to the doubts surrounding their union.

Nonetheless, naysayers and skeptics couldn't be more furious of the doting couple. While the two are building one another up, their enemies are plotting to tear them down. Death, disloyalty, and animosity fuels the schemes against Storm and Vice, but the two aren't going down without a fight.

For as long as Miss Candice could remember, writing has been her passion. In the beginning, she wrote poetry. Later on in life, when she was about thirteen years old, she was introduced to fanfiction.

The Coldest Winter Ever was the first urban fiction book she read. It wast then when she took Fanfiction to another level. She perfected her writing skills, and began to write Urban fanfiction. At first, writing was something she did in her spare time. Something that was therapeutic to her. Never in a million years, did she think she would become a published author, although it has always been a dream of hers.

Now, at the age of twenty-eight, she's penned over ten bestselling novels with many more to come.

In addition to writing, She's also CEO and founder of Miss Candice Presents.

Vice is nuts!

I loved the series it definitely took me through some ups and downs on the emotional side. It has me wanting more from Carla and Reek and I see now I need to go see what book had Hustle Hard in it.

I give 4 stars because it needs some corrections in some places not because of content. I’ll be reading her whole catalog.

This was truly a great read. The author took her time developing the characters. I felt the love with Vice and Storm. The drama was continuous. I strongly recommend.

Vice!!!

Crazy does not do Vice any justice! He was a different kind of breed! Storm fell for the savage and chiseled the ice away from his heart! This series was very good!

Are you looking for a good read that gives a modern day unconventional spin on a Romeo & Juliet type of love story? Makes you feel the highs and lows of reality? Makes you fall in love with or dislike characters? Then Authoress Miss Candice’s “Us Against Everybody” is a must read for you.

Two people from different places in life cross paths and become inseparable. Faced with obstacles that are destined to keep them apart they embark on a journey unsure if they will survive through it all. Their bond becomes so deep that it becomes a game of Us Against Everybody. The question is who will win in the end?

First, I would like to say that I like books that are different and not your typical “urban/hood” story. I like those that step outside of the box to write from a different perspective/standpoint. With that being said, I have read all of Miss Candice’s books and love them all. So there was no question I had to get this book.

Secondly, this book had me so enthralled and engaged from page one until the end. At one point, I tried to go to sleep but couldn’t because I wanted to know what happened. I stayed up and finished the book the same night. Miss Candice has a way with words that makes you feel as though you are there living it with the characters. The flow of this book was just right not too fast and not too slow. The editing issues as usual was minimal. This book keeps you guessing as to what was going to happen next and is not the predictable love story that you may expect. Vice & Storm have a relationship that makes you realize that love makes you do and act in the most unexplainable ways. I thought of the mixture of #HoodLove and Let It Burn by Jazmine Sullivan as a possible theme song for them.

Do you want to experience a range of emotions? Do you want to remain captivated until the end? Then this is a must read. I will not say much about the characters for you need to read this for yourself to fully grasp it all especially with Vice and Storm. My new favorite couple! The ending will leave you in shock and demanding the sequel ASAP! Miss Candice, you have done it again Awesome!

Forbidden Love

Storm's parents know you can help who your child falls in love with. For her mother to be judging Vice because of Mack wasn't right. I believe Mack started the whole beef with Vice. Hopefully Vice and Storm don't let her parents stand in their way.
