My Review:

I have always loved Veggietales. Maybe not as much as I did when I was younger, but I still do. When my little brothers don’t share, they have bitter feelings towards each other. In The Don’t-Touchables, it stars Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato as detectives and they teach the children are the importance of sharing. In the story, the brothers have a dispute about toys. Larry and Bob have to solve the mystery… who did it? As always, Larry manages to say or do silly things. I enjoyed this quick read. This is a great book for younger readers!

No bad content at all.

Detective Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato go on an adventure to solve a mystery! They go to assist Percy Pea in the case of his missing things. His magnetic man had gone missing. He suspected his little brother had moved his things. eventually the gang go look for the missing toy. Percy Pea's little brother, Little Pea, found the missing toy behind the dresser. The detectives now know what the real problem is. The problem is that the brothers will not share. They do not allow each other to touch anything! This is frustrating for the mother because she has to buy separate things. The detectives said that, "When people don't share they break apart friendships. Sharing brings people together." A scripture goes along with this book. 1 Timothy 6:18 says, "Be willing to share."

This book is a great read for the first week of school. It helps build community in the classroom because children are taught the importance of sharing.

As a literacy tool teachers may use this book for sequencing events; describing characters and teaching point of view. As a cool activity students may look at either Little Pea's or Percy Pea's point of view when it comes to sharing. Students may also write an alternative ending to this book. They may also write an opinion piece on the story.

This is a good book to teach children about getting upset with others about something before they know what is really going on with a situation. It also teaches children how important it is to share and how not sharing can cause really bad feelings between people. Relationships are worth more than any toy or material possession. The two detectives in this book help two brothers solve a dispute about whether the younger brother took his older brothers toy.
