Sammy Franklin has always been in touch with her inner sex goddess. She hasn't been afraid of her sexuality since she was a teenager. Only a man has violated her trust. Confused and not really understanding why she feels safe with only one man. The very last man she should feel safe with a biker who's so Alpha he seems to bleed it. Now she needs to decide if she should give in to her passions or walk away.
Animal Harris knows he's not a knight in shining armor but something about Sammy makes him wish he could be. It isn't her smile and it's not the strawberry blonde hair that he's desperate to see flowing across his pillows, either. It's that she wants someone to make her submit and he's just the Dom to do it. Only she's been hurt and he is the last man who should be helping a woman with that kind of pain. He has to decide if he is willing to let her go or if he will let his inner beast have her.
Be aware light to medium bondage. No S&M. Dom/sub relationship.
Great addition to this series. If you like a committed D/S sexual relationship a little on the lite side, this one is for you. The sex scenes are hot but not OTT. Animal shows both his hard and soft side helping Sammy through her battle to overcome the fear of a sexual attack. The story is set in the future but again the time period is irrelevant because the story line and characters could easily be transposed to the present. I enjoyed this one and am looking forward to Iron's story coming up next.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as Reapers. Not because of the writing - as that was good but because of the storyline. I found it hard to feel sorry for Sammy and did not enjoy the general overall story. I found that I learnt nothing about Sammy,s life except for the obvious and feel the characters could have been explored a lot more. I even skipped some the sex scenes and tried to hurry up the story outcome but in the end I was glad the book finished. Will I read the next novel about "Iron" - yes I will.
Ugh. What a disappointment. I loved the first book, Reaper, even though it had its quirks, so I jumped right into this follow-on. I don't know what happened, but It's as if another writer penned this book. The writing is choppy, not smooth and several instances of concepts/words repeat from one paragraph into the next. ('too possessive of her...too possessive of her', 'need to take it slow...need to take it slow') - paragraph rewrites but neglecting to edit out one of them. As to the story, consistency is lacking there as well. There is more explanation early in the book about the 'rescued girls', obviously setting up for book 3, and not enough about what happened to Sammy, the main storyline for this book! As to the characters introduced positively in book 1, I couldn't connect to Sammy this time and didn't find her sympathetic in the least, and Sarah, the adorable female lead from Reaper, is annoying and overbearing. The difference between Reaper and Animal is mind-blowing and disappointing. Two stars.
I really enjoyed this book. I could relate with Animal and with Sammy(Sam). Their struggle was real especially with Sammy's past. My only complaint is that the author seemed to harp on and on about Sammy's eating and I personally felt like it should have moved past it and gotten on in the story. I enjoyed the way Animal was able to move Sammy over all her obstacles. He was good for her. I also enjoyed reading about Reaper from the previous book. It was nice to read about some bondage without it getting too deep and of course the biker club. Another great book by Michelle Woods. Can't wait to read more from this author. She never disappoints.
I enjoyed this book very much. I'm not a hardcore MC fan but this had some gritty moments and plenty of romance and passion to make me happy. I look forward to book #3.
I like this one better than the first one. Animal and Sammy are one of a kind. Sammy says what is on her mind and doesn't care who likes it. Animal enough said.
