Ricochet: The Box Set

Rate this book
****Caution! This book contains graphic scenes of domestic violence that may be a trigger for sensitive individuals***

Rick "Ricochet" Brennan served eight years as an elite Marine special ops Force Recon soldier. After an injury, and the terrible memories from that night, he retires and goes to work for his former Command Officer, Howard "Mack" McEvoy, at his training center in Atlanta.

Sanctum MMA appears on the surface to be a normal gym, training elite fighters to be the best. Except each trainer, hand-picked by Mack, possesses a special background that allows Mack to run one of the best-kept secrets in the country.

When twenty-four year old Quinn Wallace finally escapes her abusive husband, she turns to her father’s old Marine Corps buddy, Mack, for help. Broken and skittish, Quinn finds herself surrounded by large, intimidating men— men who could easily overpower her. She avoids them the best she can, but when Rick turns out to be more than just a rough fighter with bruised knuckles, she finds herself wondering if she can allow herself to trust again.

This is all 3 Ricochet novellas in one book, Locked & Loaded, Friendly Fire, and Extraction Point

***This book contains hot, sweaty men, a spunky heroine, and lots of bare skin***

Heather C. Leigh is the author of the Amazon best selling Famous series. She likes to write about the 'dark' side of fame. The part that the public doesn't get to see, how difficult it is to live in a fishbowl and how that affects relationships.

Heather was born and raised in New England and after spending 15 years in Atlanta, GA, currently lives north of Houston, TX with her husband, 2 kids, and French Bulldog, Shelby.

Heather loves the Red Sox, the Patriots, and anything chocolate (but not white chocolate, everyone knows it's not real chocolate so it doesn't count) and has left explicit instructions in her will to have her ashes snuck into Fenway Park and sneakily sprinkled all over while her family enjoys beer, hot dogs, and a wicked good time.

My favorite authors are Dan Wells, Ken Follett, and Stephen King.

Happy reading!

One of my favourite reads.
Deciding to re read it after so long was the best decision, I'd forgotten how much I loved the whole journey Rick and Quinn had to travel to get their HEA.
Can't recommend enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was very happy to read this series as a box set. There are some serious cliffhangers in between books. The Ricochet series has domestic violence themes in it, and so I wouldn't read it if you are sensitive to the subject. I felt the topic was tastefully addressed and didn't feel as though it was a concern for me.

Rick "Ricochet" is a bed hopping sexy Marine who was injured in the line of duty, and now he works for a top secret special op's group disguised as a MMA gym. Even though Rick seems like he has no concerns and feelings, we get to see that he is still carries baggage from his childhood and his injury.

Quinn is escaping an abusive relationship and ends up working at Sanctum MMA gym. I enjoyed seeing her character grow and develop throughout the books. She goes from victim, survivor, and finally to a confident woman. She of course gets lots of help from not only Rick but Mack her father's Marine buddy and the rest of the guys at Sanctum gym.

All together this box set was good. The plot was predictable and not anything out of the ordinary. The Ricochet box set was a quick enjoyable read. I loved the secondary characters in this book, I'm hoping we get to see them again.

Pretty good set of novellas, with a cliffhanger at the end of parts 1 and 2, so the box set is handy so you can read the entire saga at once. Rick Brennan is called Ricochet by his teammates in Marine Force Recon and in the secret covert ops organization he now belongs to, which has a cover identity called Sanctum MMA gym. The fighters and trainers at Sanctum are all former Special Forces and undertake covert ops that the US Government can't publicly touch.

One day, Ricochet is smacked by the sight of the beautiful new receptionist at Sanctum. Her name is Quinn and one look at her is all that Ricochet needs to know he wants her. As time goes on, he realizes a lot of things about her; namely that she has been frightened and abused by someone in her past life, that her father and Rick's boss were old friends, and that he can't have his usual hit and run association with Quinn.

Her past comes to attack them all, and the trials of that as well as their need to hide from each other without trusting each other, tests their relationship. They stand strong, eventually finding their HEA.

Rick was a former Marine with a lot of scars from war and from the way he grew up. Rick meets Quinn when she starts to work at the MMA gym. Quinn’s past is a good one at all and Rick can tell something is off with Quinn but he isn’t going to push the issue. Rick is immediately drawn to Quinn but he doesn’t want to admit it until he can’t hold back his feelings any longer. Quinn is happy about it but there are issues she needs to deal with from her past in order for them to move forward.

I thought this was a good read. Quinn and Rick had me drawn to them from the very beginning. Rick was fighting his feelings but soon he just could no longer hold back his feelings for Quinn. I loved how their relationship developed over time and they both had obstacles that they both had to get over. I am hoping that some of the secondary characters will have stories of their own.

I loved being able to read this as a box set. Quinn is a former abused wife who makes a daring escape to start her life over without her husband. She turns to her father’s friend who owns a gym, which is actually more than the average gym. There, Quinn meets the bed hopping Rick, whose nickname is Ricochet appropriately. Right away they both sense more to each other.

In a three-book series complete with cliffhangers after each of the first two books, this set keeps you on the edge of your seat. With the right amount of suspense, steam, and story line, readers will fall for Ricochet’s softer side.

If you’re looking for a quick read jam-packed with all the great qualities, then this is the series for you!

ARC copy for honest review with no compensation.

First time reading this author...was not what I expected but that being said I thought the story line was good. Part 1 & 2 had cliffhangers and felt this could have just been one book instead of 3 books....

Rick (Ricochet) a bed hopping ex Marine and Quinn (an abused woman) come together at Quinn's late father's friend MMA gym but is actually a Black Ops operation. While Quinn doesn't want anyone to know what happened in her life before coming to the gym to work, they are keeping her in the dark about the real operations of the gym.

Will all the secrets come out before its to late for Rick and Quinn or will they only become friends?????

This was quick and easy read. Quinn is on the run from an abusive husband who is the sherriff in a small town. What is so difficult in this storyline is that Quinn never tell anyone what has happened to her and she keeps getting into one "situation" after another. I always find silly women just too frustrating for words! The hero, Rick, has returned from war a bit damaged and falls of course for Quinn who has tons of secrets. Glad this was KU item for me.

It was okay. It's a three-part series (each book only novella length) in one box set, the first two books each end on a cliffhanger, but as the whole series is available obviously this is not an issue. I found the storyline more predictable than I would like and the heroine annoyed me with her failure to communicate. All in all it was only ok. It's not terrible, but it's not going to excite or surprise you.

Overall I really enjoyed this box set. 3 novellas make up the series. The 1st novella was a little slow paced to me but the story gets better with each novella. Quinn and Rick both let down their walls to overcome their fear of trusting and falling in love. There is angst, suspense and sexy times.
I recommend this box set. Good writing and characters. Would love to see more with the secondary characters.

This is just too much

I had to five-star this because as soon as I was done I wanted to read it again. I loved all of the characters(except the bad guy) and I want stories about the rest of the guys. Plus the sexy parts were taaaaasty
Overlook some of the choices for the "Marine talk". It's not super distracting but it's there.

I would have given 4 stars, if I didnt have to skip so much steamy love scenes, and so many fbombs on every page. it was a good story, I just wish it was cleaner.
