Human Omega #1-5

Human Omega

Rate this book
John Tate, police officer and alpha werewolf, never planned on turning a human into an omega. He was supposed to be civilized. Nice. The exception to the rule. But one whiff of Ian Bones on the full moon and all of Tate's morals and ideals go right out the fucking window. Ian smells like his, and Tate's wolf has no intention of denying them what is rightfully theirs...

Warning: This story contains some dark themes before the happy ending, including kidnapping, unfair punishment, abuse of power and dubious consent. Do not read if this bothers you.

“Ian? Are you okay?” Tate suddenly asked, standing just inside the door. Ian looked up, gasping at the pulse of need that coursed through his body. Tate had changed out of his skintight uniform, and was now wearing a loose pair of sweats and a tank top. Ian could see the line of Tate’s member resting against his thigh, fat and huge, and the alpha’s muscles looked enormous. Ian wanted to touch them. He wanted to bury his face in Tate’s crotch, to sit at the alpha’s feet while Tate stroked his hair-

No! This wasn’t him. Why was he feeling like this? Ian closed his eyes, trying to ignore the throbbing of his shaft and the way his hole fluttered and yearned for Tate’s knot.

“Ian… If it hurts, I can help you,” Tate said, coming closer. Ian could smell him, musky and delicious, his mind fogging over with the intensity of his need.

Why did he want Tate to stay away again? Breathing in that scent, opening his eyes to see Tate’s magnificent bulge so close he could reach out and touch it, Ian couldn’t remember...

Ridiculous and ridiculously HOT.

There was some drama I didn't care for.

Lots of possessive, controlling, over-the-top alpha assholes. If this is your thing, definitely check this out.

I think the relationships portrayed here are unhealthy and unrealistic. But so are big werewolf knots. I don't mind either!

I enjoyed myself for most of this book.

Fun read. Out of control Alpha and bratty Omega. Great sex, low angst.

3.5 - I took a whole star off for two reasons. Firstly, I’m not sure if this book is meant to be part of a series because it felt widely unfinished at the end, like so many unresolved issues. Secondly, I felt like on of the characters was done real dirty.

If you like noncon/dubcon themes, something a little dark and messed up, you’ll like this book. It’s not too hardcore or extreme if you’re worried, just enough badwrong to make it fun and naughty.

Ian is a sex worker who gets picked up by werewolf cop Tate. He’s kidnapped on a full moon when Tate essentially has no control of his impulses and claims him against his will. This is the explanation we’re given for Tate being a psychopath only to turn around and be a gentle and doting Alpha two days later.

The pack dynamics were a little confusing but served their purpose to create conflict and introduce the side characters of Payton and Brendan. Just like Tate, Payton does a full 360 personality reverse from aggressive alpha to shirking submissive violet and then back to alpha again throughout the second half of the story (which is admittedly confusing).

I just felt so awful for Payton and with everything left unresolved in the end I was so unsatisfied. I hated how Tate treated him - his reactions to Payton’s decisions were so unreasonable and unfair in my opinion. He kind of turned into this punching bag of sorts. I really wanted a second book or even a few extra chapters where Payton was able to resolve his concerns and fears with Brendan, but nope. That’s all they wrote, dear reader.

3.5 ⭐️?? Okay so… idk If you read my reading updates you’d know I had no idea what I was getting into 😂
It was HOT but also kinda disturbing (not that I’m that bothered by that lol so let’s ignore that for a sex) but also MESSY! This story had real potential but I felt like it was kinda all over the place?? It had 3 potential good separate plots in it 😂 I think I liked the middle one the best lol - so rough start good middle and meh ending! Especially because it feels so UNFINISHED! Idk if this was supposed to be a longer series but it sure feels like that! (With the 2 couples which get both a lot of page time) I’m just confused. But hey the 🔥 was hot the writing was good and easy to read and actually if you take the story apart and go over it again it has good ideas and plot twists etc.

Disgusting.

I didn’t even finish the book. I stopped after Tate kidnapped and raped Ian. It was glorified and Ian was supposed to think it was fine since it felt good despite him being scared to death. Tate promised he wouldn’t hurt Ian and then rapes him. He wants to ram into Ian without prep. It’s rape. It’s a theme I see alot where the bottom is unwilling but convinced he likes the abuse because he’s aroused or it feels good. You can be aroused and still say no. I will be reading this author. This filth should be removed from Amazon.

I don't mind dark. I actually really like it when it's a compelling premise... and an alpha in a full moon lust forcefully turning a human into an omega and then mega regretting his shitty behavior afterward is pretty compelling.

So what's the problem? There's virtually no development of anything realistic between the MCs. It's like the author laid out the beginnings of this great premise... and then they stopped giving a fuck. There's no middle. Just a beginning. And then ta-da! All fixed up before we're even 30% in.

The sex isn't even particularly hot imo. And this book embraces one of my great annoyances... the submissive MC who previously was not at all into pain suddenly becomes a pain slut because... well who knows really? The book doesn't. Go write stuff on Nifty for that kind of unrealistic shit. Don't try to dress it up as a romance or even erotic romance novel.

This book had a good start and I was really excited getting into it. It just shit the bed shortly after.

Good Read

This was a good book with some hot moments and interesting shifter elements. I enjoyed Ian and Tate getting to know each other. I couldn't stand the character, Payton and I don't think it advanced the book. Also the ending was so abrupt, I looked around to see if there was a sequel. Also, I don't think you should end a book on side characters, but that is just nitpicking. I'll definitely read this again.

Ok, but I expected more

This book was sort of a short story and a separate novella combined into one. I felt that Ian and Tate's story started of good, but then things developed too quickly. Then, all of a sudden, you have Payton and Brendan who had a lot of potential interest, but none of it came to fruition.

I’m sorry. what?

If you don’t mind a show you’re into being cancelled 3/4 of the way through the season then this is the book for you.
The ending was terrible. It’s like a final chapter was just left off during publishing. I’ve read a lot of DJ Heart books and sure some leave a little to be desired at the end. But WHAT WAS THIS.

Don't read this for the plot, romance, or if you mind unhealthy relationships, unresolved problems and dub/non-con!

I honestly don't think there's a point in reviewing this as an actual book.

The story is shallow, convoluted, unfinished and uninterested in being well-written. The plot and relationships are just a background for the sex. As a book, it's a pretty bad one.

As porn with plot, it's fine.
Sex scenes are plentiful, although a great deal less kinky than usual for this author, and a bit less creative. I liked that the non-con was clearly stated as such and not suddenly excused after the story veered into "wholesome romance" territory. That has been an issue in their other books.

The plot kind of makes sense, although the characters' behaviour mostly doesn't. Names are often mixed up. Structurally, the story is lackluster as fuck.

Tate and Ian are mostly likeable and their relationship is mostly consistent, which is nice. Although the shift from "you raped and imprisoned me, I hate you" to "it's inevitable and you're hot, let's go" is *very* abrupt.
Tate's reaction to Payton's lack of enthusiasm for a new pack makes him look like an unreasonable dick, yet we're somehow clearly expected to side with him.

Speaking of, Payton doesn't work as a character. He jumps between being a bigoted asshole and pretending to be. The conflict between his submissive tendencies and learned macho-ism is left unexplored and unresolved, just as the clear dissatisfaction with his shitty situation. I think we're meant to not care because he acts like an angry 14-year-old?

Other werewolves might as well have been non-existent. The alpha-alpha of the old pack is given a promising scene, but then the thread is abandoned like most others. The book ends out of the blue, with most conflicts unresolved.

I've been binging this author because they include a lot of kinks I really like. They are portrayed in a simple, uncomplicated way - by which I mean that there's a distinct lack of nuance and emotional depth to the sex scenes.
They're shallow, wildly unrealistic and very enjoyable for me because of that. The pure fantasy of it all simplifies the enjoyment and takes away the emotional burden. As porn should.

Just treat this one like one of the stories on the written-porn sites and you'll have a good time

Perfect book if you are a little bit kinky

This book was so perfect. The author never waste my precious time. It was one steamy scene after another one. No unnecessary characters, no unnecessary episodes. You have to read just a little bit to another steamy scene. I really enjoy it. In the first half of the book there are practically just Ian and Tate. In the second half there are Brendan and Payton as well. They fit perfectly in the story and there are no less steamy scenes beacuse of them. I love them too. After I read the sample in witch Tate kidnapped Ian and took him roughly i wounded if to buy this book but I am so glad that I bought it. After a rough start the story somehow develops in a steamy romance and you can feel hove much Ian and Tate love each other and Tate really care about Ian despite the way he took him. I am so sad there are no second book beacuse we really could find more about Tate's new pack. 317 pages was not nearly enough for this story

Humans and alphas and omegas, oh my.

This book isn't for everyone. It has an out of control alpha, a non- consensual turning, and a bigoted pack mindset concerning humans & omegas. But, if you give this book a chance, I think you will enjoy it. Because this book also has love, joy, and an alpha willing to risk it all to maintain his moral beliefs and protect his omega and his new pack.
I won't reword the blurb. Suffice it to say, the men are hot, the sex is hotter, the kinks are unexpected, the alphaholes are infuriating, and the mating bonds are telling. This book concentrates on one main couple, and a second couple whose story is integral to the integrity of the book. The result is an exciting journey to HEA.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Hapit ko nag dnf sa first part pa lang daan kay ang sugod gi kidnap ni Tate (alpha werewolf) si Ian (human) nya gi turn niya into an omega by knotting him luhhhhh rape besh. Galagot ko nag basa. Pero ganahan man daan si Ian ni Tate, nakuratan lang sya nganong all of a sudden gi priso na syas balay. So anyways, mao to mates na dayon sila. Nya alpha man edi nag alpha x alpha sila. Sunod book na guru to. But move on sa ko kay nag lagot pa ko sa rapey vibes.

I really liked the book it was hot and steamy. The dubious non-con was an interesting start, not the typical love at first sight.

I didn't like that the ending was so rushed, I would say this deserved a 6th book. I would have liked to see more of the second couple. I think the way Payton was left as a character didn't do him justice, he seemed to have a potential to become a better person but it was nipped in the bud.

Great m/m book

Warning this book ends on so much on a cliffhanger but very abruptly. I don’t know if there are more books coming but it seems like there might because of the way this ends. Other than that this is a really great book and I enjoyed it a lot. Hopefully we will see more of these characters.

Ok

This was just ok, not as dark as I was expecting. With Ian's kidnapping, I thought his reluctance would have lasted longer. And we didn't really get to see his omega side come out which was quite disappointing. Plus the switch to Brendan's and Payton's story was a little off putting.
It was an ok read for me, wanted more angst though.

Just OK

There were multiple editing errors in this book that should have been caught and some were not easy to try to figure out what was actually being said. The two main guys in this were interesting enough but there was a lot of explanation about a playroom with no play in there. I was not a fan of the switch in perspectives to a brand new couple partially through.

BDSM NOT MY THING. WRITING IS GOOD AND TECHNIQUE WELL HANDLED

The story line develops well. Structure and technique are good. Subject matter has no appeal to me, nor sympathy for dominant main character. It is probably a well crafted BDSM book.
Triggers should be added to up date. I will probably check one more book before I decide on following this author.

there were a few interesting parts of the relationship building between the two MC, but I felt the writing was disjointed, the plot non-existent and the addition of the secondary characters odd. Triggers for non-con and dub-con, and whiny alpha werewolves.

2.5 I was going to give this four stars, because I blazed through it in one sitting, but I was just left flat when it ended. A rough draft of a pretty good shifter story that should have gotten a lot of revising before it was published.

DNF - 25%

This book has a lot of my favourite tags/content. Unfortunately I just couldn't get past the writing style, like the characters name in almost every sentence. And sometimes those names were wrong along with many other spelling mistakes.
I'm sad that I'm disappointed.

weak

Plot..,weaker story! Incomplete character development. Disinteresting, I’ll-conceived, brusque finish to a complete failure in concept and artistry! I would not recommend this failure to anyone.

Super hot and I liked the character progression. I do wish that the conflict in the book wasn't so short. It was resolved with minimal effort so it was a little unsatisfying. The end also just kind of cuts off without resolving any of the tension in the second couple

Alpha breaks traditions

I think that the story was rapid, moved well and was engaging. It had good prose, but for me, for some reason it never hooked me.
