Katie O’Brien is starting over in Napa Valley, California. In the wake of an abusive marriage, she’s decided to begin her life anew by fulfilling a childhood dream of moving to a remote log cabin in the woods. As she heals, Katie rediscovers herself, forming new bonds and navigating a new life of mystery, adventure, forgotten love, and whimsical quests back through time to 19th Century Ireland. But everything comes with a price. Some doors should never be opened. The forces of good and evil clash as a timeless romance hangs in the balance.
Through deft and clever storytelling, Annemarie Dapp brings us to an enigmatic world where dreams can become reality, and where a shattered past can trigger a fragmented present of unfinished troubles transforming current sufferings. The Wall People is a book about redemption; it is the story of a broken woman confronting herself and the world in which we all live.
This is not a normal genre that I read, but once I started, I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of the characters, and plot twists I wasn't expecting. Looking forward to more works from this author.
I loved this book!! There was great adventure, unexpected twists and a beautiful romance! AnneMarie Dapp has such a creative mind. I will definitely read this more than once and have recommended it to friends.
Ready to escape to another time? Have fun with this surprising read! Filled with brilliant detail and vibrant characters, I didn't want to put it down!
I LOVED this book I found myself crying when Daniel first appeared to Katy as an Angel! No spoilers...But if you love romance mixed with a little paranormal this is just for you!
My FAVORITE book! A haunting and whimsical story of love past and present! Anne Marie Dapp is an awesome story teller! I found myself becoming one with each of her vivid characters! The tale is emotional and will never escape my heart! This Book marks you! I found myself crying at the beginning at the climax and again at the end! Author: Elisa Guajardo Carothers.
This is not a genre that I usually read and I just did not realize that this was that genre ... Romance. And as such I really didn't like it. I kept hoping it wasn't going to get all sappy and sugary because there were elements of the story that I really liked. And I do like it when love triumphs over evil but this was just a little too sweet. And another pet peeve is publishers or authors or whomever it is that relies on spell check to proofread a book; e.g., "she continually tried to BRAKE free of his grasp" ... ugh.
I don't usually read romance novels and had never read a paranormal romance novel before and didn't quite know what to expect. AnneMarie Dapp is a very good writer however and I soon found myself immersed in the story. I have never been to the USA, but soon found myself liking the sound of the Napa Valley in California and was intrigued too, to learn about the Halloween customs Americans practice. The story takes place not only in the present time, but also back in 19th century Ireland during the Potato Famine and tells the story of Katie O'Brien who having managed to escape from an abusive marriage, is starting afresh in the Napa Valley. I won't give the plot away, but will say that Katie finds herself drawn back in time to 19th century Ireland, when an ancestor of hers had to face a choice no woman should ever have to face. It was a very engrossing novel with a dramatic and exciting ending. Although I am usually a modern day thriller fan, I would now consider reading another novel of this type. Well done AnneMarie Dapp and good luck with your writing.
