As head chef for Lake Haven Lodge, Eagan Masters spends his days cooking warm and hearty meals for his clan and their guests. His nights however, are spent in his cabin, cold and lonely. There's no mating for the big cats. He's accepted it, but no amount of time in the kitchen can keep his heart from craving someone to call his own. When food and other supplies go missing from the lodge, he sets out to reveal the thief. But without a scent to track, he begins to wonder if Lake Haven has a ghost.
Clara Destacio is a ghost. Not literally, but if you count the way she can sneak into houses, get what she needs, and leave without a trace, she might as well be invisible. Years ago, a tragedy left her seeking solitude. Exchanging her friends, family, and cushy lifestyle for the quiet simplicity of a rough camp in the woods has helped her deal with what happened. But surviving sweltering summers and frigid winters in the Ouachitas means she has to take what she needs from those who have too much.
Clara finds Lake Haven's lodge and the abundance it offers, and realizes she's stumbled onto a gold mine. But when someone starts leaving her food so she won't have to steal, the guilt she's been running from catches up with her.
***Book 1 of the Ouachita Mountain Shifters series. To experience more of these characters, read the prequel, A Mate's Wish.
***Contains adult language and explicit sex scenes. Intended for mature audiences only.

I loved this one almost as much as the prequel. It was not missing anything per se. The heroine's story was a little too weird for me.
The Hero, Eagan, is so sweet. Plus he is a chef! What could be better?
The heroine, Clara. Well her crazy is crazy. She has been living in the woods for 6 years. But surprisingly I liked her! Her reasons for going off the grid were, too me, not so drastic as to warrant that response. But to each their own. She is a good person, overwhelmed with things in her life, feeling guilt for things others did. So she goes back to basics. Living in the woods has its pitfalls. The personal hygiene thoughts and discussions were funny.
Eagan is so good to her, helps her and faces off against his clan - namely the leader Magic - for her, before he even knows her.
A slap in the face to all para romance books with mates. Male mates can’t get it up for others. Don’t think about women except platonically after mating. Yet this book says they satisfy their mates then screw whoever. What garbage. A book has never made me so upset.
Sweet, short story about h who is living rough, after sort of break down. The H is a cat shifter and he has promised his leader not to mate. Once he scents the h, that's it for him. He is sweet, lonely and wants a family like another couple in his pack. His alpha is suffering, after losing his mate, and his decisions aren't good for his clan, but he acts with good intent. This couple show the alpha was a healthy relationship looks like.
I was really excited for Eagan’s story after the first one, but it kinda let me down 😕 Clara’s story was just way too out of left field for me!! I really didn’t get their relationship at all.
It was short, so not like I lost a lot of time reading it, but I really hope the rest of the series is more like the first book!
Raglan is a jaguar shifter and the cook of the lodge. But when he discovers a thief he finds his human mate. This is the beginning of a new series with great characters and interesting beginning
3.5 stars New to me author. OK story but I wanted more. Clara is living off the grid stealing to survive. I don't really agree with her reasoning on why she was hiding from the world. If she was so affected by what her family did, there were other more constructive things she could have done. I liked Eagan, especially the way he was determined to not let his instincts rule his life. Some of the conversations and dialogue were a little awkward.
Again, kind of uneven. The hero is sweet, and his side of things is light-hearted and fun. The heroine is maybe meant to be dark, but just comes across as stilted. Her backstory is not enough to explain living in the woods for six years all on her own.
I checked out this book because I have really liked some of this writers other work. This was a good shifter romance. The hero was about as sweet as they come. I'll likely check out the next book in the series.
Clara has been living off the land for a few years but she steals some things from people and the lodge she found so she can live. Eagan notices that things are going missing from the lodge and tries to find the thief. She loses her notebook and Eagan realizes that she's keeping track of the things she's been stealing so she can pay them back at some point. So the next time Clara comes to look for her notebook she finds a note from Eagan that he will help her and she finds some food he left for her.
Eagan and his shifter clan have decided to stay celibate because their panther's for the most part won't stay monogamous and they don't want to be responsible for hurting their mates. But one other of their clan have already found their mate and they are staying faithful. So Eagan thinks that he can as well that it's a choice. So he tells his clan leader that he's taking Clara as his mate because he can't live without her and doesn't want to. That causes a lot of friction between he and his leader.
Eagan wants to get to know Clara better and she tells him why she's been living the way she has and it's a heartbreaking story but we can understand her reasoning.
Eagan is just the best hero. I loved him so much. He was so understanding and caring about her situation. She was a very relatable heroine.
Eagan is a jaguar shifter in clan of varied big cat shifters. He is the cook--and very good at it. They run a lodge. It is being robbed, so they are on the lookout for a thief. Eagan catches her, then defends her. She is his mate. Their leader wants to turn her in, but Eagan will not allow it. The story goes on telling why Magic does not want them to mate, how Eagan works out a plan so she can pay back for what she stole, and tells why she stole. Very interesting characters. Looking forward to the next in series, Magic's story.
I love this book! Poor Clara has had to survive the loss of her beliefs and her lifestyle in one night through the actions of someone else. Eagan steps up to be the man his mate didn’t know she needed and he wasn’t sure he could be. The love this clan feels for each other is one that we all wish we can find. Even when they are pushing against each other it is with the best of intentions. I hope we get to see Magic find his true mate and a love to right the wrongs of his past next.
What would you do to protect your heart or loved one - never fall in love? This story is about taking a chance and falling in love?
The "woman in the woods" surviving on "hunting & gathering." Clara walked away from society 6 year's ago. Shifter Eagan has committed to his clan that since they can't be monogamous not to mate and destroy the one you love, until his fated mate sneaks in then the tables are turned. This has depth to the characters and the chemistry smoking. V1, S2
Eagan is his clan's chef. Clara is a wild woman in the woods. Sounds like a match made in heaven, right?
The conflict here is that Eagan's clan has an oath against mating. They have their reasons. And Clara has stolen from the clan and their guests.
Disappointments: the characters spend little time getting to know each other, shifting barely comes into the story as a plot point, and Eagan pretty much solves all Clara's problems for her. I don't feel like there was much growing or changing here.
I really like how the author begins this story. We are at a resort in the mountains and things are disappearing. Security cameras show the thief to be female. How do you catch a lady thief? Our hero lives up to his vocation and entices her with dinner and dessert, including cobbler and chocolate. Wise man our Eagan ... he definitely put out the right bait for his mate. Now to persuade her to stay with him ....
What a great story. Eagan and Clara were two sides of the same coin. Both of them taking in someone else’s hurt while showing compassion. They were perfect together. The characters were wonderful. I’m intrigued to find out why Magic is so opposed to mating and taking a chance on true love. This is the second series that I have read by P Jameson. The first being Dirt Track Dogs which I highly recommend. Until next time y’all happy reading.
Eagan, a powerful jaguar shifter, discovers the legendary "Mountain Woman", Clara, is the mate he is not allowed to have. This interesting story slowly reveals why Clara has doomed herself to a harsh and lonely life deep in the surrounding woods. When Eagan takes it upon himself to help her and get her back to civilizations, this story changes from interesting to spicy with a dash of hot cat-shifter. Enjoyable Read!!!!
This was a quick fun read. It's the first in a 9 book series. It was free on KU, but the rest of the books in the series were $4.99 each. I read it to see if I wanted to invest in the series, but decided against it for now. It was well written, characters building was good, plot was engaging. But the book was too short. I read it in a day. Less than a day. That's not what I want to sink money into. Perhaps if I run out of other KU series?
Eagan and Clara's story was amazing! Eagan is the chef of the clan (which makes him just that much more sexy to me ) Clara has been hiding in the woods for 6 very long lonely years. When these two finally meet, fireworks from the first touch. Can't wait to read angry all the time Magic's book!
Overall this series is a quick and light read. I definitely enjoyed this book, it's written with a great sense of humor. While the premise is so-so these are books to pick up if you have a little time and are in the mood for a few laughs and a happy ending. 💕🐺
This was a book that actually surprised me. It's full of sadness and life's hard lessons, love and pain as well. Then pour in some cat shifters what a great story. The characters are amazing a lot of action and fun too. I fell in love with the werecats and can't wait to read the next book.
3 stars because although this was good. I didn't think it was that great. It had good points like I thought Edgan was interesting and nice. I thought Clara was a nice character too but the underlying thing of cats are never faithful is something I think the author needs to nip in the bud. Her other series is much better. I'm glad I started with the others' first.
Great writing and characters. Great first book in this series. Makes you want to read the next book in the series as soon as possible. I already bought the entire series some time ago, but didn't get to read it yet. If I had known it was this great I would have already read it. Have already started the next book and it is great too.
Excellent series, especially the fire cats series which spins off from this one. Exciting, fun, adorable, sexy...the mystic ladies are something else, though. I think they should ditch the old-fashioned clothes, but that's just my opinion. Maybe it's exciting to see the formerly strait-laced drop their facade for a good romp with the right partner.
Delic#iously Mated by P. Jameson is book one in Ouacha Mountain Shifters series. This is the first book I've read of this author. It's an excellent start for the series. Eagan & Clara are a really great choice to be in the first book. They know its ok, Because these two are HOT! I read this book through Kindle Unlimited for my honest opinion.

I didn’t love the ending I wish it was overall a little more HEA. I think it’s just leaving stuff to be fixed in the next book. The HEA has nothing to do with the couple just the world building.

OMG I wish I would have read this book sooner. Like right after Dirt Track Dogs. Since you get a small update on the pack. And I really like how Eagon was able to contect with Clara by just reading one of her jernals. And how they were able to help Magic start to face his fears.
Fast paced read. You get an idea of what the pack is like and their interesting rules. I enjoyed Eagan and Clara's connection. It was quick with little drama between the 2. The drama is more with Magic, the pack leader.
