“Promise to stay down until the come up…” Late Nights and early mornings has always been the one thing Congo could depend on. He’s been living his life on the grind for as long as he could remember. Dominating the streets, and every other small time hustler in quest of his position at the top. Showing no mercy to the men and disregarding the women Congo was on a power trip until the murder of his oldest brother. Everything he’d worked for came to a screeching halt and he’s left with nothing. Now he’s forced to live a regular life working a regular job. The dope game having always been his first love, he now has nothing left that’s appeasing to his heart. A unique beauty dumbed down to nothing more than an extra source of income, Honey, is desperate and lost. She desires a way out of her current situation but with the only family she has locked away forever, she’s all alone. Getting to the money day in and day out, Honey shuts herself away from any and everything not aiding in her success. Having been used and taken for granted in her past relationship, she’s a little more resistant to the advances of the handsome young thug that’s captivated her truest feelings. She’s determined to ignore him and his efforts until there’s no more reasons to run. Here in the moment with this totally perfect stranger Honey decides to give it a chance. Both needing security and someone in their corner they embark on this new journey together. Struggling but determined to make it, Congo and Honey stick side by side, loving one another past their current situation. Believing in the visions he has for them and the passion filled relationship they’ve started, Honey promises to stay down until he makes it. Congo’s life was going nowhere fast until his heart took to Honey, so now that he has her he’s going above and beyond to show her that as much as she believes that it isn’t, her love is indeed meant for a thug.

Enjoyed Honey and Congo in this one. I also liked how the author showed their struggles and how they bonded before anything really took off with them. I really want to see just how Neeka takes his come up and what happens with Toro and the mess he has going on. The next one I hope is as interesting as this one.
This book was really good and it take you on a ride. I love Congo and honey relationship. The fact they was always there for each other no matter what. This book definitely take on a ride and I'm about to start part 2 right now
I'm so glad I decided to binge read this author's catalog not one book has disappointed me. I'm ready to see Congo and Honey boss up!!!! Great job A'zayler! On to book 2
That dang Nneka is a mess I tell ya.How could Congo do it for so long.Honey I really like her even though she got beat up,now that was funny but I like her and she’s a down chick
Life will never be the same for Congo trying to adjust to normal living is hard. After losing his brother he decides that the street game isn't for him anymore.Working a 9 to 5 is not how he imagined it to be but he is determined to do it for his brother. His girlfriend Nekka is steady on his back about getting back into the game and it drives him crazy,Congo finds himself in a not only in a tough situation but also the new lady of his dreams.
Honey has made a vowed to never give her heart to someone in the streets.Losing the two people that meant the world to her also makes the decision much easier. Working as barber allows her to stack her money until she can make a better life for herself. Soon she finds herself in the present of Congo and wonder if a better life is with Congo.
Follow this story as these two find out the meaning of true love and staying down together.
First Time reading a book by this author and I enjoyed it. This book had potential to be a 5 star by the ending contradicted it self to me .... Which makes me feel that maybe the title should have been something else. I did love the characters and the development that was made between the two. Story line was different as well. I will continue to read more books from this author.
A'Zayler has definitely established being one of the best authors out at this point in time. This story was something else, definitely different. I felt so bad for honey. I know they say that desperate times call for desperate measures sometimes, but geez really!!! Having to spend all her time outside of work in a house full of people that despise her is terrible. Lets not get started on Samuel. What a por excuse for a man. Married, working at McDonalds, and living at home with Mom and got the neeve to move ya girlfriend in. Ummm can we say dumb!!! Congo I can't even feel sorry for. He created his own drama he should've been let that leech go a long time ago. She was nothing but a headache and drama on a stick. So glad Honey could open his eyes to a real women. Happy that he was able to show her how she should be treated in return. Toro had better watch his back because that man is definitely playing with fire he is going to mess around and loose his heart behind a nut. Arizona is way to good to get that kind of treatment. Whats done in the dark always comes to the light so he better prepare himself and so should Virginia for that matter. I can't wait for Arizona to give her the business.
A'Zayler again you did that this book was Amazing. I loved the concept of this book and it was very well-written. It flowed so good. Honey was a good girl surviving under extreme measures. I loved how Congo came in like Prince charming and showed her what a real man was. Arizona was the real MVP and Toro is so good to her. I hope he doesn't let a pass fling mess up what they have. That Neeka I cannot stand her and I hope she gets what's coming to her. I will be patiently waiting for the next installment please don't keep me waiting to long.
This was a really God book, it was well worth the purchase. I love the story line and the way the characters develop. I love Honey and Congo's relationship and now I can't wait to read book 2 and find out what happens next, so I hope I don't have to wait mad long for the next release.
Thugs drugs jobs and woman. Honey and Arizona are suck good girls. It's always a snake in the grass. Men from the street life always try to do right but once your in the system is hard to be legit. Hope honey is ready for this life changing experience. Can't wait for book two
Yassssssss girl u put it down I'm loving this can't wait for the part two honey is so bout it I'm loving her and Congo together great storyline and I'm loving it 15 stars
If u read 1 book this year....THIS IS IT!!!!! Loved the bond between the couple's. For sure Honey is a rider! Different view on "thugs" and their relationships. I loved every part of this book....can't wait for part 2
I really enjoyed this read I just downtime the fact that it was shortened with an excerpt from another book! I feel like I was cheated, but other than that I can't wait for part 2
I love Honey and Congo relationship... She the connect and they are about to take over. I hope Toro don't step out on Arizona and I don't like her sister... I can't wait to see what happens next
That Congo is everything! I respect that he wants to take care of home but I respect Honey also bc she hold him down when he had nothing....I like Z too I'm nervous for her to find out abt Toro cheating I have a feeling that that's not going to be the end of the topic.
Honey needs Congo just as much as he needs her. This was my first read by A'Zayler but won't be my last, she pulled me in from the beginning and kept my attention thru out the entire story. I can't wait to see what Congo & Honey do next
Your writing is awesome and you truly have a gift. Honey seems damaged already and I hope she doesn't end up in jail like the rest of her family. Congo is like . A kid in a candy store lol.
I love Congo and honey. I hate how Samuel jr and his family were treating her and glad she connected with Arizona I feel like she needed someone like her toro and Congo in her life. There love is so cute 🥰 can’t wait to see what happens next!
