ONCE: Pretérito Imperfecto de la Infancia

Rate this book

Once is a coming-of-age (bildungsroman) novel with fantastic elements. Set during Pinochet's regime in Chile, the main character not only has to deal with his first experiences as an adolescent, but also with the threat of a nuclear war between the U.S. and the U.R.S.S., the everyday brutality of the dictatorship, and an aviation accident that alters the routine in the city he lives.
