Rapture 2

Rate this book
When you think of rapture, you think of ecstasy, bliss, elation, and things of that nature. In short, a feeling of intense pleasure or joy. Rush had that. Or rather, Rush has that in the beautiful Alika Collins. Alika brings forth everything he wants in a woman. The two literally crashed into each other’s lives, and their whirlwind love story is safely set on solid ground. But is it really? And if so, for how long? There are certainly things that can disrupt what they have just begun to build.

Recently, Rush was dealt a devastating blow: He has a young daughter who he never knew existed. After this life-shattering secret is exposed, Rush finds out that those close to him are the ones behind it all. Feeling betrayed, he instantly dismisses those individuals from his life. In his mind, their actions were unforgivable and mending fences is not of urgency. At present, his primary goal is finding, and forging a relationship, with his child. Nothing will keep him from doing that.

But while Rush is establishing this new phase of life, things are in disarray in the old life.

For one, someone wants Rush's father dead and will go to great lengths to make it happen. Then there’s the mother of Rush's daughter who wants more than to co-parent. This leaves Alika feeling the strain of it all while trying to remain by his side. Yes, things become chaotic. But, Rush is no stranger to chaos. Hell, he even has a club called Chaos, as a testament to where he's been and what he's made of.

But how much can one person take?

Rapture 2 brings many things to question, but it will be interesting to see how it all turns out in the end. Specifically, which relationships will remain intact, and which ones will be forever altered to the point of no return.

I had up my previous bio for years! It was nice and all, and gave details of my life. But it was so structured! And I’m kinda not. Because of that, I’ve decided to change it to something that really gives you a glimpse into who I am. Is that cool? K, good. So, here goes:

I’m a Bay Area girl. Cali is in my blood! I moved to Vegas in 2017 (No, I wasn’t following the Raiders!) to see how another way of life would be, after my only kid . . . the love of my life . . . decided he was joining the Marines. Can you believe that?! Sigh. Wait, deep sigh! I know some parents await the day for their kids to leave, not this Mama. That was my ace, my bestie in male form. I had to hit the reset button. But here I am. He’s thriving. I’m ‘trying’ to thrive. Lol! No, but really. This relocation was good because I’ve never lived away from home. So, I needed to grow, cultivate a little. It’s working for now.

I consider myself a novelist. And that’s because a novelist doesn’t just write in one genre. For the most part, I write #InterracialRomance, with a primary focus on #BWWM, as my leads. However, I have written a few novels that fell comfortably in the #AfricanAmericanFiction realm, showcasing some #BlackLove. In short, I love building stories. I like to say that I “spin #Sexy and #Suspense into a single web.” The two dynamics have to co-exist in my stories, or I’m bored. And you know if the author is bored with their own work, there’s a problem! Trust me, I’ve done plenty of rewrites when that’s happened.

On my literary journey, I just hope to always write the stories that women find relatable. Characters who are strong, but vulnerable when they need to be. Family-focused, and intelligent. Basically, mirror images of myself. Ironically, writing these characters, have helped me discover things about myself along the way. I think that’s why I write as often as I do. It’s almost like peeling back layers of me as I go. And to stop that process, kind of hits the pause button on me . . . my life . . . my existence. I have to be a moving machine at all times. Does that get stressful? Absolutely. But is it rewarding and are there many teachable moments? Absolutely!

Ever need me, reach out. Ever got questions, I’m never too busy to respond.

Peace & Blessings!

OKAY... I enjoyed this one much better than the first one and I am sticking with a solid 4 stars.

Now the good: This book nicely wrapped everything up, it didn't leave any stone unturned and any and all questions were answered... HOWEVER I will agree with Alika... the excuses these ladies provided.. yeah seemed sorta lame to me also.. true story... but all in all a pretty good read considering that I was going to skip the book completely. I also loved the way that through the tough stuff they were a team... no matter what, which was a very nice touch... but it turned me off a bit. ( I will explain of course)

I wish I could say that I loved every minute of it.. but I can't thus the reason for the 4 stars.

Now... honestly some of the stuff that came out of Alika's mouth hit my nerve the whole "sexy beast" yeah that ish got on my nerves.. all I could think was " who really says this stuff?" Her character took me back and forth with like and dislike because one minute she was would this put you in your place chick with a smile and then the next felt like she was straight thuggin it.. I was like whoa.

Also... yeah the conflict (Because there is conflict in every book.. well I did read one without it and that ish sucked... okay back to this story) was short lived.. I mean I wanted a little more anger.. she was made for like a day... one day and not even a full day.. just a few hours. I'm like NOooooo can we get a little of him begging for forgiveness.. sigh. I wanted her to be upset a little bit.. and when I felt it was coming.. I was like yeah yeah yeah and then her mind would be like nope.. I was seriously like WTF lol

All in all enjoyed the read

Signing off.. Sometimes the second is better than the first.

The end!

I just loved Rush and Alika together it's a shame that your own flesh and blood try to ruin you. Well Lance played one game too many and he got what was coming to him. Jamie was still being selfish and spoiled. Janae was something special too. I liked how each story line got its closure.

Enjoyable

Ok so now I know that I did read this series in the correct context and this second book is just as unique. The characters are still mysterious and captivating. So the story continues the drama is still explosive. WOW I enjoyed this book and it easily keeps you on edge of suspense. There's a powerful combination of suspense and excitement that gives fuel to your romance. The women are so amazing and their relationship is magnificent. Their emotions are running high about their love and the intriguing twists they go through. This truly delightful and definitely a awesome story to read but for one thing and that's the cliffhanger but if you enjoy a good cliffhanger then this is it.Plus the other characters are fantastic that it just worked so well together that I couldn't help but enjoyed their story along with how the suspense is built it's such a marvelous thing."

"Rapture 2" A BWWM Alpha Male Romance by Perri Forrest

My Viewpoint:

Hopefully you have read Rapture 1. The story continues giving the reader another good read from this author as we continue to see what all is in store for Rust as he deals with Alika, his father[Lance], half sister, [Jamie], his daughter [Michaela], and his mom[Gia Olivette...Siobhan]. I will say that this series will have so much going on from...lots of conflict, murder, rape, twist and turns with a lots of chaos going on in this well written plot. I liked how the story shows how Alika was able to deal with the baby mama Janea and letting her know she was not the one.

In the end...wow as we get to the beautiful surprise wedding...[quote from Rush...to Alika].....

"You came crashing into my life, baby And you made it all better, I was used to going through life and focusing solely on me and building me to where I need to be. I was on a solo Mission. But you appeared and took my heart hostage and made it so that I could care - in the intimate way-about life, about love, about everything. I knew what I was looking for in a woman, but I honestly didn't think she existed. In you, I found the whole package. Not piece-meal, but the whole package. You make me happy. You make me whole, You make me want to be the better me, and I love you unconditionally."

Wow! That wedding was simply a beautiful setting. Now, to know what all has gone on up to this time...yes we get a wedding and you will have to pick up this series to see for yourself how well this author brings it out so well to the readers giving the perfect ending to this HEA story for Rush and Alika. But will all of Rush's problems finally be over because there is more series...'Rapture 3' in series # 3!

MY FAVORITE BOOK IN 8 YEARS! ! ! !

I enjoyed this book, so thoroughly that I actually started writing this review before even finishing the book. It's shaping up to be a great series. I was hoping this wouldn't feel like a "series" that was actually a book cut up and sold in increments. I found it very smart and funny. It kept a pace that was high energy all the way through. Alika came in the realest way, that too many woman can totally relate to. We may not all have a "Rush to kiss it and make it all better...but, I personally am love, Love, LOVING the characters, RAPTURE BOOKS 1 & 2; and, THE AUTHOR: Perri Forrest!!! This book is an excellent representation of BLACK GIRL MAGIC ! ! !

Twists keep coming.

It has not been quiet for Rush and Alika. Dealing with a child you knew nothing about, family secrets, and trying to maintain and grow a budding love is a lot! But our H and h handled it beautifully. I really loved that they were solid through it all. Even when tension was high, they were there for each other and communicated like adults.
Good read, off to book 3!

Living with a rich man with a powerful, spiteful father and equally selfish sister has its downside, and a closet with skeletons would scare some women away, but Alika handles this well as she establishes her place in Rushs life.
Rush however finds his life spiraling. He has a nine year old daughter in his life that he just found out about recently, his father is murdered, and to top this all off his mother who he thought was dead suddenly appears out of nowhere. How much can one man take? It seems Rush can, he hardly broke a sweat with all he is dished. Then even at the end of this story he brings on another surprise, but Alika tops that with a surprise of her own.
Bring on the next book, what can Perri do to top these equations?

This Indeed was Rapture

Enjoyed it. I was anxious regarding how Alika and Rush's relationship would survival the drama, but their love is strong. Slums keeps surprising me, she's so much stronger than you initially think.
I'm looking forward to more.

Ruthless

Rush is very protective over his loved ones. He is a protector and provider of whom he considers family. His relationship with Alika is a beautiful thing and he does not let anyone interfere with it, not even the baby mama.

Lots of drama

But still very good. Rush's father was beyond and a-hole. I would liked to see Rush finally tell him off. Once Siobhan revealed herself, it all made more sense.

Good story

I deducted a star because I sorely detest couples using Daddy, Papa or Mama with each other during intimate moments. Other than that this was a great story. Lance and Jamie got what they deserved as well as Kenneth. Could have used less Baby when speaking with each other also.

In Rapture 2: an Alpha Male Romance, author Perri Forrest continues the lovefest that is Alike & Rush. When Rapture ended Rush had just learned that he has a nine year-old daughter and both his father and sister Jamie knew and never told him. His father Lance, actually paid baby mama to go away. Looks like Rush definitely has a thing for chocolate. Well looks like someone is out to anything up a bit and take out Rush's father Lance.

On the baby mama front, Alika is trying to be real cool about Janea and Janea is trying to dance between the sheets with Rush. It looks like Alika and Rush are head for trouble when when Alika starts to pointing out 1+1 is not equalling 2 when it comes down to his mom and baby mama and Rush says something he instantly regrets. Baby mama drama Alika calls Janea out on the story she released to get Rush attention and lets Janea know she is not going anywhere.

Baby Baby Baby

All the questions I had from book 1 were answered in this book (book 2). Great sequel. Loved it. I didn't care for the introductions of the new characters mid book (such as the journalist). Also, my other concern would be the pesky terms of endearment from the main two characters; baby this, baby that, I love u more, forever love you, it was all OVER THE TOP. I was like dang, enough already. Seemed as if they were trying to convince themselves of their love for one another being that their relationship was faster than a roller coaster ride. But awesome plot. And the best part was heroine was secure in her role and her place in Her man's life and the hero made sure she was reminded of her role in his life.

I enjoyed this book I wish it was a little longer because it was that darn good. My fingers are crossed that there is a third book, so hopefully my wish comes true. I really loved the was that Rush and Alika loved each other it was pure and beautiful. And this Alika is way different from the first Alika in "Rapture" to me she stands up for herself more and isn't afraid to speak her mind. They both care about the people they love and for Rush that's somewhat his downfall but I still think dude is kick ass. Its a must read Perri Forrest has done it again with her amazing story telling.

This book had so much going on. Rush and Alika closed on chapter in their life..only to have 2 more open up and took a life of their own. I enjoyed this book, although I did think Alika wasn't really being true to herself, when it came to her feelings about all the new changes that was happening. All the feelings she kept to herself, she should ha e let them be known. Or maybe taken some time for herself to reflect. And she totally forgave Rush too easily for that low blow. But I loved the ending and that wedding..amazing.

Rush is truly An Alpha Male

Rush and Alika's love is something else. Those 2 were so well connected. Perri you my dear are excellent at what you do. I love you writing and this book show that even through dark times the right Chemistry will bring anyone together. I would have never thought that person who came after his father was that exact person. I also had a feeling that leak was an inside job, just not the person who did it. Shame on her. I love your work keep it up.

Perri Forrest does it again. Just when I thought the love between Rush and Alika couldn't get any better, it does. Just when I thought that there wouldn't be any more pieces to this puzzle than there already are, there were. I loved the entire book. More pieces of the puzzle are revealed, while Rush develops relationships with the people the he loves. The ending was amazing, well thought out and provided the perfect ending to this love story.

A very good sequel to a compelling love story...

This story kept me entertained throughout the entire book, I loved the fast pace and the quick wit of the characters. The love story between Ali's and Rush is believable and you route for them from the beginning, Loved the twists and turns of the story and the HEA ending, well worth the read! Well done Petri another brilliant story!!!

WOW!!!!

I didn't think it could get better, but IT DID!!! I said in the heading WOW, and I meant it. This book had ups and downs, right turns left turns, and it wasn't to much. I would LOVE to have a part 3 to this, there were a couple, not many unanswered questions. If no part 3, this was stunning and glad that I read.
