STFU—Start The F Up
For Present and Future Leaders of Startups, Small and Medium-Sized Companies

--

“If marriage is an Institution, entrepreneurship is a University.”

The start-up culture in the world has grown by leaps and bounds in the last few years. The ecosystem is bustling with ideas, pitches, funding, and more. Start-ups have suddenly become a rage all over. Serial entrepreneur and author Rajive Dhavan is among those risk-takers who have entered the start-up world at the age of 22, with as little as Rs. 40,000. All he had was an idea that he believed in. During his journey, he challenged the status quo, witnessed success, embraced failure and showcased exponential growth. Incidentally, Dhavan has founded three separate companies so far.

In STFU—Start The F Up, he shares some basic ideologies he developed through the initial phase as an entrepreneur. Dhavan has drawn his perspective from the fundamentals of business and management, self-belief, and real-world experiences and failures. Geared toward present and future leaders of start-ups and small and medium-sized companies, he offers a new way of looking at things with an honest, unusual and a broader perspective—a perspective that has lived deep inside you but hasn’t come to the surface.

STFU—Start The F Up focuses on inspiring you to look for solutions yourself. It is about empowering you to make the right decision. And to do that, you’ll need to depend heavily on that one person who’ll always come to your rescue—you. Yes. Nothing helps you… like you.

Rajive Dhavan, 28, is a serial entrepreneur and writer with a collective work experience of over 10 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication (Journalism).

A firm believer in the teachings of failure, he says, “I had witnessed failure pretty early in life. After failing my boards in the 8th standard, I was expelled from my school. That’s when I had my first tryst with business. I wanted to prove myself. And the idea of not taking money from home sounded cool. Especially when the situation was financially very weak. I used to sell canned fruits, sauces, and other raw ingredients to bakeries around. It was a part time commitment though. But my first full time job was that of a Junior Salesman in a clothing store called Zodiac."

well..."start up", the thought before the "start the f up", and the thought after reading the book, there is this huge difference. Insecure, afraid, fearful, such pessimistic thoughts prevailed in my mind regarding start ups, because I am not a person having guts to gamble with the finance available to me. But, than thanks to Rajive the way he has put down the thoughts regarding startups through his book and the things he faced and how he neutralized them, really it was a morale booster for me, after going through the book that spark of entrepreneurship which was almost dying in me has become alive again, the book helped me to look into the idea of start up in a new way making the thoughts more secure and me more optimistic, though the road may not be similar for the author and me but his book will prove as a guide on my way to start ups.

thanks Rajive Dhavan for such a wonderful book....
