Their love burned bright, white hot, and strikingly blue around the edges.
Some thought them careless.
Some thought them crazy.

Taylor Barrett was looking for answers in a universe that had abandoned him.
Jude Boehler flooded her dark world with charisma and mystery, drawing everyone into her hurricane.
It was a most captivating of love affairs. They were shooting stars, meteors in the sky, colliding to create a spectacularly wonderful reckless romance, leaving them breathless and tethered.
Their souls were exposed to the chaos, bare and vulnerable. Can these two star-crossed lovers survive the madness that is life?
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, S.L. Scott, writes character driven, heart-racing suspense, and swoony romances that will leave you glued to the page. With stories ranging from witty beach reads to heart wrenching and heart healing, her stories are highly regarded as emotional, relatable, and captivating.
Her books are more than escapes for the voracious readers of today. They are journeys of the heart that always come with a happily ever after reward at the end.
I could sit here all day and talk about Until I Met You. I could talk about my love of Judith Boehler and her feistiness, her strength, her goodness, and her ability to see life in every individual moment. I could talk about my extreme crush on Taylor Barrett. I could talk for hours about how Taylor made my heart skip a beat with his amazing words, his kind heart, his dash of alpha, and his drive.
Then, I could sit and talk to you about Jude and Hazel. The epic love story of two people that should never make sense and do. I could explain why writing those words brings tears to my eyes. How through the words of S.L. Scott I believe. S.L. Scott makes me believe - love is sad, love hurts, love is pure, and love is true.
Judith Boehler is a beautiful soul that despite her suffering, her damaged heart, she believes. She is the girl that sees the good, sees the positive, sees the possibility in every moment, and lives for those moments. Jude is the girl that wears sundresses in winter. The girl that eats ice cream in the snow. Jude is the girl that believes by looking into the eyes of the man that steals her heart that goodness is real.
Taylor Barrett is a kind man. A man that has been handed a crappy hand in life and is simply going through the motions. He isn’t sad and he isn’t angry, he is just there in life. That is until fate resets his hand and he is handed Jude. As he becomes her Hazel, he comes back from the dark place he’s been hiding and comes to see the light. Jude is his light. Through her he sees life in the moment, not in the masses. No, Taylor becomes Hazel, seeing his life through Jude’s eyes he learns to live and love with all he has.
Full of emotions Until I Met You will remind you that no matter where you are in life, no matter how much suffering you have faced in your past, today is a moment and you can choose to live it or let it pass you by.
I consistently shed tears as I watched two people I fell in love with break and suffer. The tears never stopped as I watched two broken hearts find their way back to being whole. As I type this I have tears in my eyes. As I type this I miss Jude and Hazel and the all-consuming and unapologetic love they have for one another.
His life. Her life. He needed to save someone as much as he needed to be saved. She needed someone to save her and let her save him. Ultimately both learned accept to that there is no saving, only living.
“Love wasn’t about reason. Love wasn’t rational. The heart charged forth with love on its wings to spite the possibility of the bloodshed aftermath.”
Wow…..This book…..I am completely and utterly blown away by what I have just read. This book is so real. So unique. So refreshing. It is unlike anything that I’ve read all year.
It’s no secret that I am a big fan of S.L. Scott’s books. So, when I hear that she’s coming out with a new book, I can’t wait to get my hands on it. And this one was no exception. As soon as this book appeared on my kindle, I worked feverishly to clear my schedule, so that I could dive into this book. And boy, did I ever dive into it.
Until I Met You starts off as your typical romance: Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love…. Girl is a bit on the eccentric side. But, that’s where the typicality ends. Once you get into the story, be prepared to have your mind blown. You see that this is not your typical romance. There is nothing ordinary about this story; nothing ordinary at all. Jude and Hazel are unlike any characters that I’ve ever met. They have both been dealt some pretty crappy hands in this life and they just want to find a little bit of light in a world filled with darkness.
Jude and Hazel’s story touched me on such a deep level. I feel emotionally drained, but in such a good way. The road to HEA for Hazel and Jude was not an easy one. My heart hurt so many times. I struggled to wrap my mind around the things that Jude endured. I kept thinking to myself, “How could this happen.” So many things, were just so unfair. So many things happened that I didn’t expect; that I wasn’t prepared for. My poor heart. It ached. I struggled to accept what I was reading. This one particular moment just devastated me and I will share some of it with you: “Promise me, Jude, when you feel alone, you’ll live.”..”I can’t live knowing you no longer breathe, that you no longer walk this world with your love, with your life.”..”I never had a reason to live before. But now, I can live because I’ve loved and been loved.”..”Our love was spectacularly wonderful.””And reckless.”..”The most reckless of love affairs.”–This. This moment was so powerful, so heartbreaking. It gave me so many feels and brought tears to my eyes.
I am in awe of S.L. Scott. She took a risk writing this story. It is so different from anything that she’s ever given her readers before. And when it’s all said and done, she has left you with an amazing story that just has to be experienced. And let me tell you, in my opinion, this risk paid off.
Until I Met You was beautifully written and captivating. It captured my soul and buried itself deep into my heart. I fell in love with this story from the first page and I loved every emotional second of it, right until the very end. What can you expect from this book? Well, you can expect to be taken on a journey. One that will take you by surprise. One that will confuse you and frustrate you. One that will make you fall in love and break your heart at the same time. And when it’s all said and done, you’ll be left feeling so much love for Hazel and Jude! S.L. Scott, you have really outdone yourself with this book!!
I don’t know what else to say, other than, read this book. You will not regret it. And as I close this review, I will leave you with a few more of my favorite quotes:
“Show me how to love. Until I met you, I think I’ve been doing it all wrong.”
“It’s not real. None of this is real.”..”It’s a dream, all in my head.””Then don’t wake up.” He rested his head in on her lap. “Stay asleep with me forever.”
“I will love you long after this life and into the next.””I’m counting on you.”
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, via InkSlinger PR, in exchange for an honest review*
First off, Until I Met You is a book that everybody has to read as it was such an amazing read and keeps you engrossed right till the very last page and you can't help but hope that everything will work out in Taylor and Jude's favour and that the rest of the characters can just go jump off a bridge for all you care and that they can leave Taylor and Jude alone to be happy and live their lives in peace. The book starts off with Jude in a room and at first glance we think it is a prison type room , then it jumps to a party where Jude aka Judith meets Taylor - the two get off to a rocky start as Jude brings out another hidden side of Taylor but the pair can't help but be drawn to one another. Thus begins the week of a lifetime where this couple bond like crazy. Then Jude disappears to her "reality" and we discover that for Jude - all is not rainbows and sunshines . Jude's life reminded me a bit of the movie The Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment -as you will read on you will discover why. All Taylor wants is Jude back in his life and we discover that Taylor has a illness which he is hiding as well and just wants to live his life to the max and it seems he has found that with Jude. The couple eventually elope, but unfortunately their happiness ends their as Jude is forced to return back to her family and is in more danger and Taylor has a relapse and ends in hospital. Is this pair destined to get their HEA and be free of the world that holds them in restraints and rules ? The marriage part with the court and annulment issues reminded me of the autumn movie I have just watched recently on Hallmark Channel - Autumn Dreams which tugged at my heartstrings.
This is one book that everyone has to read as it has something for everyone from Health issues , Edgy Topics, Dysfunctional Families, Romances , Horrible Exes , Dramas and Secrets/Lies.
This is definitely going on my Top 2015 reads List.
I will say this though, this book frustrated the hell out of me cause one I was confused about Jude and Taylor and second is, I wasn’t even prepared for their story.
It’s a story about love but a love that’s impossible, a love that starts of confusing, mysterious and sweet and you think rainbows, but I hate to say it, no it wasn’t. Jude and Taylor’s story is about life issues, about an debilitating illness, about wrongdoings, about abuse, about loss, grief and especially Jude’s innocence.
But tbh at one point I literally was so over Jude’s weak mindedness and her secrets but with Taylor/Hazel I was blown away by his strength and determination while suffering from the illness. But as you read on, more of the little things that makes you love this couple and everything, comes to light why Jude’s behaviour is like that.
All I can say is that this book will leave you a little happy a bit heartbroken but hoping for their happiness and for the future.
This was such a charming and refreshingly different story. I've read several of SL Scott's books, and this was her best written book to date!
The story of Jude & Hazel (the double dipper and the architect) was such a roller coaster. The storyline was very different and a welcome change to all of the same old boring stories out there. I fell in love with Jude's character. She was so peculiar yet endearing. I really enjoyed reading about her and the quirks that made her so lovable.
If you're looking for a different read, I highly recommend this story!!
SL Scott has outdone herself! This book was so different from anything I've read. I was sad, then happy, then confused, anxious, worried...I was all over the place!
Hazel and Jude's story is a beautiful one! It was a wild roller coaster ride of emotions, but so,so worth it!
Every once in awhile a book comes along that reminds me exactly why I love reading so damn much; the beauty and the emotion that flows through each sentence, pours from the characters and dances across my mind and heart in complete awe and produces that giddy excitement when thinking about writing the review because you just NEED people to read this book...this is it. Until I Met You is such a stunning and moving read, contrasting brilliantly between a sweet whimsical romance and a much more intense and overwrought one.
What starts out as one of the sweetest, most playful meetings between our hero and heroine at a ritzy glitzy society function, develops into something indefinable and oh so real within the space of one night, where your choice of ice cream could redefine the rest of your whole life. Taylor and Jude share a soul deep connection almost instantaneously, as though one recognises the internal struggle and heartache in the other and they each cling to each other in safety, trying to obliterate the loneliness that their darker and more complex issues cause them. It’s in this crazy, almost carefree introduction that the most unpredictable and all consuming friendship and love affair blooms and paves the way for one of several difficult fights they have, in order to work their way towards a happy ever after with each other.
This is my first S.L Scott novel and what a way to be introduced to her work. Her writing is literally poetry in motion. The wide scope of emotion and the depth of her words and the meaning behind them all, took my breath away more than once, so much so that I had to bend my husband’s ear after I had read it because I had to share it with someone!
‘“One doesn’t stand before the ocean and call it handsome. We didn’t stare at the stars last April and say it was a handsome night. Love knows only the beauty of its power, not the intricacies of verses. So no, Hazel, you’re not handsome. You’re beautiful like the stars. You’re beautiful like the ocean. You’re beautiful like the love I feel for you.”
Powerful, visceral and completely epic, Until I Met You has got to be one of my top five reads for this year. The characterisation is immaculate here, the complications and the pain, the sadness and the devastation all seep into you but then so too does the happiness, the strength of Taylor and Jude and the overwhelming love they have for each other. As with any great romance there are outside elements that conspire to keep our fearless twosome apart as well as those that cannot be fought by most ordinary standards, but it is in this fight to be together, that we as the reader are given one of the greatest, most memorable and awe-inspiring romances of 2015. S.L Scott has managed to tackle not one but two very sensitive subject matters in her protagonists, with much aplomb and intelligence, highlighting not only how serious each issue is but also how unbelievably strong and courageous you need to be to keep fighting your way out of the dark. An absolutely sterling piece of writing.
There are times you finish a book and you literally take a deep breath because you have survived a myriad of emotions. Ones that left you heartbroken, desperate, and often with a large pit in your stomach. Until I Met You is one such book. An angst-filled, gorgeously written journey that filled my heart with such joy, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
This is by far SL Scott's most ambitious book to date. She dug deep. Real deep and gave us a love story that had me in knots for most of it. Yet, I was so wildly captivated with this tale of a broken girl who falls for an equally broken boy, that every bit of despair that I felt, was somehow enjoyable. Go figure.
Judith and Taylor. Our Jude and Hazel. Oh my goodness. Such a love that was beautifully complicated, it resonated deeply in my soul. Two people who find each other quite by accident but manage to fit together so very easily. Both trying hard not to question why, just trying to find a way to simply love. Each other and the world around them.
Sadly, Jude is under the horrific control of her step-father and Hazel is under the control of a debilitating disease. Yet from the time they first spend together, alone in his apartment, all control happily dissipates and they seemingly enter their own little world where breakfast can be eaten for dinner and ice cream is never more savored than on a cold winter's night.
To watch as Jude and Hazel miraculously fall for each other was simply lovely. Yet as you read their continually hard battle to stay together, to convince those that have a stake in their being separated, you sadly feel their disappointment, their heartache at the absolute torture they are both put through. Jude, in particular. So many scenes were brutal to read and I had to put my Kindle down numerous times just to catch my breath. I often wanted to yell and scream my same frustration at how the universe could keep messing up their lives!!! No two people deserved the pain they had to endure.
SL Scott masterfully tells the story of two people who just want to love. Who want to live their lives on their own terms and for the world to just leave them alone. And she wrote it perfectly. You feel and commiserate with every bump on this emotional ride and you'll want to comfort them like I did.
I need to make mention of the secondary character of Roman. He was a true bright light in Jude's darkness. I was drawn to his selflessness and his loyalty. I'm hopeful he'll make an appearance someday in his own book. His actions are worthy of a mention and I cried at least 3x because he was so protective and loving of his hummingbird that was Jude.
I will just say that this is not an easy kind of happy-go-lucky read. It can be very hard at times but it is worth it. A book that will fill your soul like no other.
Until I Met you is unlike any book I have ever read. It is refreshingly different. It is captivating and original. Scott has a way of story telling that is eloquent and beyond words. She never fails to disappoint. She took a chance and stepped outside of her box with this epic and beautiful love story.
I loved that this story had all the things! Passion. Drama. Heartache. Laughs. Sexiness. The feels. I felt them!
Every.
Single.
One.
I felt them from deep within my heart and soul.
I fell in love with Taylor and Jude instantly. My mind. Consumed. My heart. Stolen. I was love drunk for this couple. I could not put this book down. Jude is such a pure, selfless and loving soul. I found myself under her spell from the moment I set eyes on her....as was Taylor. He is a kind and amazing man whose world is changed when he meets Jude. Their connection is instant. Their love, beautiful and soul healing. There were several moments throughout this story that I wanted to wrap my arms around them. I was cheering for these two throughout the entire novel!
Until I Met you reminds us that love is a gift and we should never take it for granted. S.L. Scott is such an extremely talented writer. She makes you feel what the characters are feeling. Her writing is flawless and effortless and it was truly an honor to read this novel. Thank you for another stunning love story. I will never forget Jude and Taylor. Here’s to jellybeans!
*received ARC in exchange for an honest review.* ~Kelly
An emotional story of love, lust, betrayal, greed and desperation...I was completely captivated from the very beginning!
Wandering through his days, Taylor meets Jude, an eccentric young woman who utterly enchants Taylor from the moment he laid eyes on her. Jude is equally intrigued by this hazel-eyed, beautiful man. Little do they know how much they'll change each other's lives. This new light they have found together brings hope...but with this light also brings darkness, a darkness neither Taylor nor Jude were prepared for. Love isn't easy. Love is hard, brutal, and sometimes more painful that can be imagined.
This is truly a one-of-a-kind romance! Deep, raw emotion pours from the pages. The compassion, pain and joy S.L. Scott made me feel cannot be forced or faked. And only a genuinely and unbelievably talented writer can generate such authentic reactions from readers.
5+ sensational stars for this powerful, real love romance, that makes you believe how something so tragic can turn into something absolutely beautiful!
Sigh. This book just didn't do it for me. I think the one main issue was, I never really believed the connection between the two main characters. I'm not sure why. Maybe because it was so rushed? It didn't really work for me as far as a romance. There were some sweet moments but at a certain point I started to skim so I could get to the action and see how the story ended. Taylor felt like such a pushover with his ex and 'friend' throughout the whole book too. It made me want to smack him. Some other aspects felt very unbelievable. I have no problem suspending a bit of disbelief with a book if it fits with the characters and everything else is done well, but that wasn't the case for me here.
I received an ARC for an honest review. Let me tell you honestly this book is FANTASTIC. You just need to be ready to ride the emotional roller coaster. I laughed, cried and a few times my heart was literally hurting. I have never wanted to skip to the end of a book as bad as I did while reading "Until I Met You". This is a stop what you are reading book and read this now. I am going to leave you with my favorite line in the book. Have tissues and wine and lock and enjoy Taylor and Jude's journey. This is nothing like you have read before.
I love it when a book surprises me. I was expecting a story about star crossed lovers and instead got a book about two unlikely people who somehow manage to find each other in the chaos of their lives. It's the perfect love story of two very hurt and flawed people who are perfect when they are together.
Saying I loved Taylor and Jude is an understatement. Of course it didn't start off that way. Now don't get me wrong, it's not that I didn't like them, it's just that I wasn't sure what was going on in the beginning of the book. The prologue really threw me off especially since it was profound and then book opened up on a scene that didn't match the intensity with which the story had started. Of course I got over that quickly because I was intrigued about Jude and her motive, if any for showing up at a party where she didn't know the hosts, in attire that didn't fit in with everyone else's. Of course I later learned it must have been fated for Jude and Taylor (Hazel) to meet the way they did.
It didn't take long for me to get caught up in Hazel and Jude's story. Hazel's troubles in life became clear quite quickly and my heart really went out to him. I truly did not like his ex-fiance. That woman was something else. I also didn't understand his parents but they were dealing with a blow in the only way they knew how even if it wasn't the best one. I loved the way Hazel was willing to try new things and take risks because not only did it make him happy but Jude as well. Jude was a conundrum. I wasn't sure what was going on with her for the longest time. I had my suspicions but her reality was much harsher and more grim than I could have ever imagined. She was wronged so many times. For someone who had been through so much, she was so strong. I admired her so much for finding and taking her own happiness when she could.
Life was cruel to both Hazel and Jude. I loved that they were able to find peace and happiness with each other. Of course with everything going on in their lives that didn't last long. I will tell you this. Once I got past my initial confusion, I was totally hooked by this book. I was reading it in public and am usually very observant of what's going on around me. The only thing I was focused on was reading and finding out what new tribulation the unlikely couple was going to face. The twists in this book were almost unbelievable; I could not put this book down. This story is of an unlikely couple, but it will tie you up in knots. I had that anxious-on-edge feeling for almost the entire last half of the book. If you like books heavy on emotions and feelings, this book is for you. Plus you'll cheer, laugh, and cry while reading this book, all plus points.
I know S.L. Scott can write wonderful stories. I've read and enjoyed many of them, but none have been like this one. This one is different and tells an epic tale of love, and the fight it takes to keep your love free and safe. There are some truly romantic lines and there's no way I can do this book justice. Pick it up and check it out. You'll be thinking about this book long after you finish it.
I ADORE This book. It took me by surprise, many, many times. It’s aptly described as Epic Love Story and that is absolutely no exaggeration. Until I Met You has that “epic feel’ from the beginning. Within the first few pages I felt a bit giddy. When Judith ( “call me Jude, my family does…”) Boehler and Taylor (Hazel - as nicknamed by Jude )Barrett meet it is one of those scenes from a party that so perfectly captured and completely telling. Immediately you get a feel for Jude’s character. She’s whimsical and out of place. She impulsive and quirky and she has some of the sweetest and strangest notions. I latched on her as it happens when a character just “speaks” to you. And then there is Taylor - all orderly and regimented and confined. He is absolutely stuck in a rut. But Jude is about to shake him to his foundation. As sweet as their first "date " was it becomes obvious pretty quickly that they both have "unique emotional baggage". In most ways they appear completely at odds, but also really completely so right - there's a good yin/yang balance to them.
Until I Met You was very nearly a one sitting read for me. There’s so much to learn about these two and Scott gives us a story that is wholly engrossing. Scotts writing is superb, she captures character nuances that give Jude and Taylor/Hazel real substance. I reluctantly gave up the ghost at around 1 am (with only 10% to go.) I’ll admit I had some anxiety picking it up the next afternoon. It seems I finally understood that I needed to expect the unexpected as Scott develops a storyline that has some very dark twist.
While the story starts with an impetuous Jude ( the real Jude), she and Hazel are forced to dial things back a bit so that Jude can play by her family’s rules. Jude’s family is beyond F’n dysfunctional (stomach clench) and what we discover about them could make you lose faith in human decency. At times I felt gutted and devastated on Jude’s behalf. I was that emotionally invested in the story. Things slow down for them, but the trust continues to grow . They are put through so much, tested by circumstances that neither have any control over. This is part of what it this such an epic story for me. They remain steadfast and loyal to each other, enduring so much, and even when it seems all is lost, they fight for each other.
This story really does have all the feels. I tried to capture what I felt at key points in the story but the range of emotions was wide and there aren’t enough characters allowed in a tweet for that. Twitter S.L. Scott never ceases to amaze me. Everything I've read by her has left a lasting impression on me. Is it bad that I'm happy I still have a few on my TBR? Naw, I think its just gives me something to look forward to.
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE BUBBLE-GUM, HAPPY-GO-LUCKY COVER, PEOPLE. It's not all rainbows and butterflies, this book. Think: darker, edgier, more "adult" version of Flat-Out Love featuring a Celeste-like character, just ... slightly more... twisted. But even that description doesn't really do this story justice.
I just wrote a review about how unmemorable a book that I recently read was for me. That was a fun and light read. But maybe it's the darker things that remain with you. Haunt you. Linger. Because, it's always harder to try to scrape up the tiny broken bits of your shattered, filleted heart than remain constantly... happy and unfazed, right? Because that's what this story did to me. It shocked me awake.
I don't want to give away too much, because it's better that way. The only thing I'd advise is for readers to start reading this expecting the unexpected. Don't expect nothing; expect everything - anything. Ice cream flavors that determine your personality, double-dipping, fancy swanky parties, sickness, and a lot of dark SHIT. The dialogue is like none I've ever read before. Jude's character is so original and unique and fresh that you can't help but love her, even though she does things that make you want to pull your hair out. She has the ability to make you laugh, inspire you, make you want to SCREAM and SHOUT, and then weep for her. Her story is a hauntingly heartbreaking one - but she faces things head on. She lets things happen to her, but she makes decisions too. She takes control.
And then there's Taylor. He wasn't my cup of tea personally, but he really was perfect for Jude, so that was fine with me. This is one of the rare, few books where I felt NOTHING for the "hero" but was a 100% captivated by the MC. She really could do no wrong. And whoever she chose, whatever decisions she made - I would've been happy with them.
Trust me, this cotton-candy cover LIES. You'll be in for a whirlwind of angst and gut-wrenching, horrible truths; but you'll also be drenched in brilliantly crafted dialogue, flawed but lovable characters, and a love story that won't be so easy to shake off... This story demands to be heard. It's darker, bolder, and edgier than whatever the cover suggests. It's also masterfully written, so prepare to have your HEART broken. You're gonna feel like you just got hit by truck. It won't be the happy chick-lit you expected. Or hoped this story could be. Because, I did. I wanted Jude to have that shallow, happy, sappy backstory, because her "reality" was so much more harsh... But in the end, I'm glad it wasn't.
Because I think this story was exactly what I needed to wake up from my easy, comfortable numbness.
I always have believed that... Life is a chaos, life is a mess. Is the way it is until we meet that person, who makes us complete.
I always have believed that the broken people are the ones who have the most beautiful hearts.
And I have to say that S.L. Scott, reaffirmed what I have thought all my life.
Life is a matter of living like you're going to die tomorrow, that is what everyone says. But inside us we have scars and wounds that are those rocks that held us back.
And Until I Met You, showed me that no matter how broken we are inside, we are capable of heal and find the light in the darkness lurking inside us.
Taylor and Judith, showed me that where is nothing could be everything, only if we try, only if we are ready to accept what we avoid. Closeness, love, somebody to trust.
And Jude, the girl who saw happiness in everything, the girl that had learned to find the brightest spot in the obscurity of our monotonous lives. She found her Hazel, and she taught him, she opened his eyes... Where his life was empty, and just a simple life, Jude became his world, and the reason to live again.
This book teaches you, and a lot. If I begging to tell you I'd probably tell you the book, but you need to know that were is love is happiness, where everything is empty... there is something outside waiting to fill that emptiness inside you.
Hold on. One more day. Hold on. Love wasn’t about reason. Love wasn’t rational.
Love. Live. Cry. Feel. Do not waste time. Find what makes you feel everything, and let it burn inside you with passion.
I received this Arc in promise that I would give an honest review. I loved every page!! Great story line and even better main characters. I fell in love with "Hazel & Jude" immediately!! So mush deep emotion and sadness carries a young woman through years abuse both mentally and physically. "Until she meets Hazel". Hazel has his own physical problems to deal with but finds a spark of light in Jude's eyes which he can't live without. Will Jude find a way to break the chains her family has placed around her? Hopefully they will find a way to be together for as long they both may live. HEA!!! I highly recommend this beautiful book!! A must read!! Thanks again Suzie
This book rocked my world! This book blew me away. I can't form words to relay how amazing it was. It's very well written and a total mindfuck, gut wrenching, It messes with your head, it tugs at your heart. It's brilliant. The story was engaging with great writing, it will have you anxiously flipping to the very last page. "You'll not forget, my love. If you do, I'll be your hands. I will. You can teach me."
It is was so refreshing to read such an original story! I have never read anything like it and it totally sucked me in. I felt completely lost and confused in the beginning, but let me assure you....it is so worth it!! I view this book as a journey and it is totally worth the ride. You will laugh, cry, get heated up, and completely confused. But in the end you will feel the beauty of the story and will be in love with the characters!!! Well done SL Scott!!!!
This was so refreshingly different than anything I have read in a long long looooooooooong time. I was due for something unique and captivating. SL Scott sure as hell can write! This book is full of wonderful quotes that you're sure to go highlight crazy like I did.
This was different. In all kind of ways different.
Yes, it was insta-love but it wasn’t instant insane insta-love. It was more total instant connection that when you have a sunshine day it has to be the real thing.
The writing was good in a way that gave you enough to not keep you crazy. But at the same time think you are crazy.
I think a lot of personal issues were heavy and deep and kept the read very dark. With some great sweet sentimental moments and feelings. Even though I think this was instant I think as the story went on the realness between the characters and their situations played out well with having someone at your back even when they truly weren't there.
This was a messed up love story with terrible people. Although, there were some stupid decisions made I understand the why behind it, how it made the storyline move and give that draw drop. I just think it was out of character for a person in true love. Any normal person, there is no way they'd just sit back.
I love what the after effects were because of this decision and liked that it added the depth but just the how it went about. It's one of those "really" type question. Would the man in the relationship REALLY just sit back and wait???? I read some reviews, because I really think this book was lovely, it gave me so many feelings. Not only the good ones either, but I love that. I love to gasp and get all plagued by the words. The story.
I think the writing and the storyline was superb but ****SPOILERISH**** I don't understand those who read it would downgrade because of one issue that truly didn't happen. Those who think and say something happened, it didn't. Sure the situations were presented but at the time nothing was concrete. I won't read a book because there is cheating in it but I'll loose the love I had if the situation revolved around untruthfulness or lies. But here there was never a line crossed. Sure, some things were difficult and maybe a little masked to bring that aspect in but to say it was in fact cheating there was zero. Now, I get why this type of storyline is hard to stick with. But for some reason I love them and it makes me think and feel and fall.
The commitment and love, I really really enjoyed this. I couldn't wait to get to the end all the same I didn't want to get to the end!

I can’t say enough good things about this book.
As soon as Jude and Hazel meet, they embark on a whirlwind romance. Each of them has secrets, but their love overwhelms the bad, bypasses the logic, and sends them both on a life changing journey.
This book was pure poetry. I’ve been reading Scott’s work since before she started publishing, and this is very much a departure from what I’ve come to expect from her. But, it’s a lovely departure, one that left a mark on me.
I immediately fell in love with both the story’s main characters. Jude is such a free spirit. She’s flighty, she has all these ideas, and she sees the world in her own way. She doesn’t take things for granted, because her life experiences have left her fully aware of how precious every moment is.
Hazel is incredible. He’s such a gentle soul, with so much love to give but so many reservations because of how he’s been treated in the past. His past broke my heart. Jude brings out a side of him that was pushed deep down and hidden away, and it was so amazing to watch as he blossomed over the course of the book. And he’s ridiculously romantic and sweet, which helped to launch him onto my top book boyfriend list for this year.
Scott did a beautiful job of handling the storyline for Until I Met You, which is a very unique one. I’m not going to spoil anything, because I want every one of you to have a chance to experience this story for yourself, but there were some difficult topics touched on and Scott navigated those waters perfectly, handled her story—and the characters within it—with great care, and delivered a wonderful tale. It was great as a reader to pick up a book and find a completely original plot line between the covers.
And on that note, can we talk about the cover for a minute? It’s completely gorgeous and a perfect representation of the lovebirds.
This is a great read that will draw you right in and leave you longing for more of the romance, more of the characters, and more of Scott’s words. Until I Met You gets my Got Nikki? Must Read seal of approval.
I am blown away by the latest story from S.L. Scott. Until I Met You is S.L. Scott's best book to date and an absolutely incredible read. This book is full of angst and tension! I can still feel my heart clenching just thinking about it.
Until I Met You is an exceptionally unique story, unlike anything I've read. This is the story of star-crossed lovers who are destined to meet, destined to love, destined to burn brightly. But, can the burn of love be sustained without torching everything in its' path?
Jude has secrets that will tear out your heart and drama in abundance. Hazel has his own complications. But, the one thing that both have is an absolute devotion to one another. They are committed to aiding one another even at their own expense. And, it just may cost them everything.
I want to delve into the details of the story and discuss all of the twist and turns, the heartbreak and the triumphs. But, I don't want to give away a single detail. I want you to have the joy of uncovering the layers, bit by angst-filled-bit! I will guarantee that Until I Met You is a book so full of emotion and surprises you'll be enthralled. Your heart will break and fuse back together only to break again. But, you'll find yourself thinking about Hazel and Jude for days after the story ends.

5+ Absolutley beautiful stars! This book...#AllTheFeels
This is one of those books that surprises the hell out of you. I love S.L. Scott's books so I was pretty confident I would enjoy Until I Met You, but she absolutely blew my mind with this story! Definitely a love story of epic proportion. One that kept me up until the wee hours of the morning, and that hasn't happened a lot lately :)
I don't even know where to begin with this review. Right from the first few pages, I couldn't put Until I Met you down, Ms. Scott has a beautiful writing style. But I honestly had no idea what a ride this story was about to take me on. Until I Met You had such a unique feel to it; one minute I was in present day and the next I was back in the turn of the century, all of this fitting perfectly into the flow of the story.
But this story is anything but another sweet and romantic love story! There are moments that left me with my heart in my throat and tears running down my cheeks. And I loved every single moment. Jude and Taylor's stories were unlike anything I would have expected! Love it when a story surprises me!
I highly recommend Until I Met You by S.L. Scott. If you are looking for a story you won't want to put down, this fabulous read and its beautiful characters are exactly what you are looking for.
**This was one of our Flirty and Dirty Book Club group reads and all those who read Until I Met You were raving about Blythe and Taylor's story. ;-)
Let me tell you, UNTIL I MET YOU was a book that completely threw me for a loop.
Jude and Taylor were two people who had been failed by their family and the circle of friends/society they belonged to. The people who were supposed to embrace them and protect them let them each down in spectacular fashion. It wasn't until they found each other at a dinner party that they both began to understand what they needed and exactly what had been missing from their lives.
Taylor's story is sad, but it's Jude that truly pulls at you. She is wronged by just about everyone in her life for unfathomable reasons. And it's not until Taylor that she's shown that maybe she could have more. That someone believes in her. It was truly sad while at the same time touching that a man who didn't think anyone cared about him was the one who showed Jude what it was like to truly be loved.
UNTIL I MET YOU was a different book. The voice was different, the perspective a little different, but SL Scott created a truly charming and heartwarming story of true love prevailing, under the worst kind of circumstances.
I cannot thank SL Scott enough for asking me if I would like an ARC of Until I Met You. It was fantastic! Really, really great. SL really did an amazing job and should be proud of herself.
Until I Met You is the story of Jude and Taylor. Two people who are meant to be together but face many obstacles. Two beautiful souls. Two people who are imperfect yet perfect. Their story is beautiful. Even with all the ups and downs. It’s emotional, it’s passionate, it’s romantic, and it’s gut wrenching. Reading it will tear at your heart and make you cry. You will fall in love with the characters and everything about this book. The roller coaster of emotions is one ride you won’t want to end.
The characters are so well developed. There is nothing superficial about them or their emotions at all. Jude’s character is perfect. All the little things that make her up are wonderful. Her spirit, her heart, her strength. I loved her. Taylor is one fantastic guy. His love for Jude is amazing. They make you want to root for them and for it all to turn out ok.
I loved it. Every. Single. Thing about it. You will too. I mean it. Until I Met You is a MUST read!!
I've NEVER read a book like this before!!! The writing, the characters, the plot, ALL OF IT!!!
Whenever Hazel and Jude were together my heart smiled. They have an EPIC romance that is rare and one everyone dreams of having, myself included. Jude was an architect who has Parkinson's disease and Jude was this quirky and carefree woman. Both characters were EXTREMELY likable and I fell in love with them.
Of course there's Jude's HORRIBLE family and other characters that aren't worth mentioning because they're equally as horrible that tried everything to keep them apart. I wanted to throw my kindle at some parts, but then I wouldn't find out how it ended.
I'm SO HAPPY I took a chance on this author and read this book!!!
This book was told in first person through the hero and heroine's POV.
When I first finished Hazel and Jude's story, I wasn't 100% on my reaction. But now having sat on my feelings for a few days, and realizing I can still hear them in my head, I know this story will stay with me for a long time.
What a sad, heartbreaking and memorable story. Both Taylor (Hazel) and Jude have endured so much. Jude, poor sweet Jude; my heart is broken for her and all she has experienced. She has been beaten down by her circumstance so many times, yet manages to carry on. She is strong and confident and still goes about life with a quirky curiosity that is all her own. Taylor deals with his own demons but still boldly follows Jude and falls helplessly and madly in love with her. They fall for each other. And their love story is epic and dizzying and unique.
This was such a departure from the previous SL Scott books I've read, yet I still felt her voice through her characters and could feel her sparkle dotted in the story.
