This one is hard for me to review. Its a good story and well written, I just didn't like the Hero. Unfortunately, that usually makes or breaks a book for me.
Neil is the ultimate playboy. He has a serious job as a lawyer but treats life as one big playground, enjoying woman as long as it never gets serious. While it's not my favorite type of a Hero, it's not the kiss of death for me. What I struggled with, is that we get to 73% of the book and he is admitting that Ashtyn is just a fling and he's not inlove with her. Personally, I just need more. As much as these two struggled to be together, I needed to see him at least be able to admit his feeling by this point. Part of his issues dealt with a dead ex. That just happens to be another dislike of mine. There is no cheating, just lots of denial.
While it wasn't for me, I do think this is a great book for those readers who like to read about this type of Hero. The author introduced a friend of Neil's and Logan (from the first book) and he sounds more like my type of Hero. I will check his book out if that is the direction the author is taking this series. The first book, Diamonds and Desire is currently free so I’d read that while waiting for this one. I enjoyed it but it didn’t really hit the spot for me, so I was hoping that maybe this one had a little more excitement, more heavy drama. Sadly for me it doesn’t.
Its a good story, a fun series and for those who want an easy to read light romance its perfect. Everyone wants different things, and I like more depth, more drama, more angst and emotion.
I enjoyed the story, liked Neil and Ashton but was never really blown away by them as a couple, didn’t get so engrossed in the story I couldn't put it down, had to see what came next.
It’s a fun read though, with some good moments that made me smile – especially when she couldn’t find the key to the house she was staying in!
Overall I liked it but for me its a series I won’t be continuing with. Its well written,the plots were genuine, and the characters were good but I just didn’t really gel with the whole story, couldn’t quite feel as if I was “there” with them as I do when I really get into a book. You know – what someone’s talking to you and you don’t hear, when the oven times is beeping and you ignore it, when the kids are arguing and you just want them to wait til the end of the chapter – and maybe the next one too....
If you're not sure try book one while its still free, if you like that then I'm pretty sure you'll love this, a risk free trial!

This is a HEA romance with the perfect mixture of heart and humor. The characters are genuinely crafted to create an emotional tug at the heartstrings...definitely to make you feel as if you are present. There is just the right amount of tension, angst, intelligence, and above all else passion. It was a joy to see Neil work to earn Ashtyn's trust and love...something that never mattered before. Their chemistry was powerful...lighting up the pages at times!
Ashtyn's description of Neil as moving like one of the men from the Rat Pack created the perfect imagery for just how smooth he was and what his personality was like. She even began thinking of him as Rat Pack Neil. It was heartwarming getting inside Neil's head, to see how he felt about Ashtyn. The moments of hilarity that turned out to warm the heart were numerous...the arrest incident was priceless...and of course the pearls.
Not having read the first book in the series, Logan and Jordana's story, did not detract or take anything away from Neil and Ashtyn. The backstory was interlaced perfectly, providing added elements to the overall story.

This is the second book in the Priceless Collection book series. I found Verika Sloane on another site where I am still reading about Gage, Alex and Leighton her Gage and Alex are her Professors I think their story on this platform is called A degree of Submission and A degree of Temptation and Age Gap romance and it is so good. Anyways so that is what made me look up Verika Sloane on this platform and I am glad I did I am getting ready to read book 3 in this the Priceless Collection series. To get back to Ashtyn and Neil. I was introduced to these two in Jordanna and Logan's story. Ash is Logan's assistant and Neil is Logan's best friend. There is just the right amount of tension, angst, intelligence, and above all else passion. It was a joy to see Neil work to earn Ashtyn's trust and love...something that never mattered before. Their chemistry was powerful and i truly loved watching their relationship grow. Neil comes off as a player but once we get to the real Neil, I couldn't help but fall for him. Wanted a wedding for them. I hope to hear more from this couple. This was definitely a good read.

Another beautifully written story from Ms. Angelita Gill. She knows how to craft a story that has all the necessities; humor, frustration, romance, angst, laughter, tears, and passion.
Neil and Ashtyn had a deep connection from the very beginning, the heat between them undeniable. Neil's charming humor had me giggling at times, and things about both their pasts had me in tears, but I couldn't put it down. Though they frustrated me with their refusal to see how things really were, it was worth every minute. I loved this book, and I can't wait to dive into the next one.

I loved this! The story is great, and I love the real, true characters created by this author. I love reading stories that feel like they could really happen, and this one was everything I was hoping for. Ashtyn feels like a real person who is going through a terribly rough time, and Neil is just what she doesn't really need. Their story is interesting, hot, sexy, and just the book I was looking for. All I know, is that Neil can feel free to come to my rescue any day!

Loved this book where Ashtyn and Neil finally get together after 4 years of unwanted flirt. Both have a way with words which made me laugh a lot while reading.
The beginning is quite original and fun but the story loses some of it along the way which is why I did not give it more stars. However, this is still a nice story to read and a beautiful love story to enjoy.

This is the second book in the series and is just as good as the first i really enjoyed this book.A super romance just adored Neil.recommended
