Mason’s always lived each day like it was his last, but everything is nearly taken from him when he’s injured. The only thing he can focus on is making sure the ones who hurt him pay with their lives.
Ryeissa can feel the wall Mason has built around himself. Being his nurse means she’s there to give him support, but she can see the darkness festering inside of him and fears he’s lost to his anger.
As the two become close, and Mason’s bear demands he take Ryeissa as his mate, he struggles with the need to shelter her not only from the violence and revenge he has to exact on the men who attacked him but also from himself.
Can he push away his need for vengeance in order to be with her, or will he end up ruining the only chance he has of making her his?
This could have been so much better. I loved the premise, I liked the potential of Mason falling hard for his nurse and dealing with his issues.
Instead I got a mediocre story. Mason fell hard for his nurse. Why? No clue. Her, him? Yes, but no idea why. Mason has issues. At least he did in prior books. But they all went poof. They were not addressed. Plus he momentarily lost his balls in handling the people who put him in the hospital.
This was low angst. Sweet. But just did not seem like a Grizzly MC book. I liked Mason and the heroine whose name I cannot spell. I needed more. More grit, more passion, more something.
I possibly would have given this 3.5 stars, but the author did something that really irritated me. She inaccurately portrayed her own characters! She said Ben (who is Stingers kid) was in med school. Well according to all the previous books. Brick's son (Odin I think) is in med school. Ben is a screw up, but in the past year has started stepping up into the club. This type of shit really bugs me. Plus this book needed a beta read. So many incorrect words or grammar issues. A simple read through would have caught most of it. Maybe it was a rush job? It sort of felt like that.
Love triangle? Cheating? HEA? Any Descriptive Sex w/OW/OM/Ex? Would I read more by this author/or in this series? Maybe, but not for now. Rating: -4 stars
Review
I really enjoyed this story, although it was a bit short and the potential could have been exploited more. The romance between H/h was a slow burn and I loved how they got to know each other before moving on to the more sexual part of a relationship. H had at first this wall around him and was basically just being an asshole. Thankfully h tore down his walls and became his light. After that he was so sweet to her and really cared for her. As for the h, she had a bit of sass and never gave up on him despite his dark side (since he's an MC and has to do some not so legal stuff). We also get to see Jacobs POV and I'm not sure if I want to console him or slap him over his head to finally get his shit together. Hope his story is coming next.
All in all this is a great story with some action, romance and of course loyalty to their other half and the club.
It started OK and then Ryeissa (h) gave this weird ultimatum to Mason (H) when he went to the people who shot him. It felt like Ryeissa wanted Mason to change and stop being who he was. She knew he was a Grizzly MC and his life is filled with violence. She should have just accepted that Mason is most likely to kill people who fuck with him that bad.
Grin And Bear It - The Grizzly MC Book 11 - By Jenika Snow
The eleventh book in this great series and features mainly on the next generation of the Grizzly MC. It can be read as a standalone but would be better enjoyed after reading the previous books within the series as well as the story Reckless, the first book of The Sons series to fully appreciate the characters and the world in which they live. This story focuses on Mason and how his character is a strong, alpha Grizzly and how he copes after he is viciously attacked. He is angry and frustrated by what happened to him and his fractured relationship with his club brother Jakob but his one shining light in his currently dark world is Ryeissa, his RN. Ryeissa is drawn to the grumpy Grizzly but is trying to maintain the boundaries of their care giver and patient relationship, but Mason is so strong, so hurt she aches with a need to help him, care for him, love him. She thinks when he leaves the hospital that she will never see him again but she doesn't understand the determination of a besotted Grizzly and how far he will go to claim his woman. Such strong characters with great chemistry. Mason gave us emotion and passion that was everything I had hoped for and Ryeissa may have been innocent in the ways of the MC world but showed she could be just as dirty as her bear and that was everything. I loved it as I have all the others, which probably explains why I have read this series more than once and hope that you will too. There were some spelling mistakes but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story. Happy Reading. 5 out of 5 stars.
been reading the hole series and so far so good, you can read it as a stand alone but its better to have a bit of background info of all the characters
I loved it. In fact I liked it so much that I've read it 3 times in the last few months. It's one of those books I could read all the time. I do wish it was longer and I do wish they started being together while he still couldn't walk (he would've been moodier then and we'd see Ryeissa teasing him more).
I found it kind of awkward how many times Mason calls her his female. My female this. My female that. Also I'm in favour of more but shorter sex scenes. Don't get me wrong, they are hot but I'd rather not have one large scene going on and on for 3 chapters. This author reminds me of Sam Crescent a bit, they both write a bit teenager-y at times.
Ryeissa says her name is Ukrainian, but the only things google found about that name are sites to various reviews/retailers for this book and some dog competitions.
Mason is the next generation of the Grizzly MC. He's lived each day as if it's his last. His only thought has been of himself until he's almost killed in a bad setup. His life was almost destroyed and this gave him the wake up call he needed. As he's making his long road to recovery his main focus is making the ones who hurt him pay but Ryeissa may put a kink in that plan. His bear wants the sexy curvy nurse whose been supporting Mason on his road to recovery. Once he's healed will Madon give into his bear and make Ryeissa his mate or will he push her away for protection. Ryeissa is a innocent woman who has never been exposed to the gritty life that Mason has as a patched member of the Grizzly MC. Jenika Snow writes sexy hot strong alphas who fall for the quirky innocent curvy girl. If only this happened in the real world. Jenika does a great job of making it seem possible for the curvy quirky lonely girl to find her over the top hot alpha mate. Plenty of hot panty melting scenes and just enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat. I love all the Grizzly MC books and this one is another great read
Mason...my heart was so hurt for him. He was so full of both sorrow and anger after he was run down and nearly killed. His world began to be a swirl or regret, rage and fear of the unknown. Would ha ever walk again? Will he be the man he was once again?
Ryeissa...Such a refreshing ray of sunshine to Mason's bleak world. The strong nurse who wouldn't bow down to his anger and attitude. Could she heal the man and beast and make Mason whole again? Can she be his key to happiness and help him be the bigger man?
Can a mans love for his woman be stronger than the need for vengeance?
This is my confession: Mason & Ryeissa may be my absolute favorite Grizzly couple, if not my favorite all around Jenika Snow couple, period.
Totally enjoyed this book and am still trying to catch up with the other 10 books in the series…
Mason is having a difficult time as of late, he feels disconnected from his crew…
He’s fighting with a crew member and close friend over a mistake that meant nothing… After another altercation Mason sets out looking for something else and finds himself shot and in a hospital after being targeted…
Ryeissa is the nurse that has helped Mason recover while in the hospital and the attraction between them is intense.
While recovering Mason knows he has to connect with Ryeissa again and sets out to make her his…
Totally loved this book and can’t wait to read the next book I give this book 4 diamonds…
When Mason got hurt he was so full of hate and rage and wanted revenge. But dont let that fool you because he does have a sweet side to go along with the sexy alpha attitude. He meets Ryeissa while he was in the hospital and seem to work together so good. I could see these characters as real people going through some crap and come out the other end looking good.
Loved it!! Not surprising though. Jenika Snow it the best! For some reason, I keep thinking about Ryeissa's brother, Yuri. Interesting... Maybe we will have a bad-a$$ SEAL in one of her stories. Who knows?
When Mason was hurt he was so full of hate and wanted to get revenge. Mason is a sexy asshole with a little splash of sweet. Ryeissa is the nurse that took care of Mason in the hospital. The two together are perfect! Mason had my heart from the start. I loved Ryeissa and her smartassness!
The story line was okay... but the author is getting the characters confused Ben was the prospect in the previous books and Odin is the med student not wanting to be in the MC snd in this book she has then the other way around.... Gramma and spelling errors
