Gerry Bartlett figures that vampires are pretty much like everyone else except for the liquid diet.

Eternity or Mexican food? Tough call.

Gerry’s a native Texan and lives halfway between Houston and Galveston. Pictured with her is her late wonder dog, a Bedlington Terrier named Belle.

When she started writing, she was still teaching and used the pseudonym Lynn McKay. You can probably still find her historical and two romantic suspense books for a penny on-line. Now that she’s no longer in the classroom and discovered the fun of writing about vampires, she uses her real name. Too bad some people think Gerry is a boy's name or short for Geraldine. No, it's not. Really.

She's still writing her Real Vampires series but is back to romantic suspense and contemporaries. Her Texas Heat series starts in Houston, her home town. Then there's her Lone Star Suspense series set in Austin where she went to the University of Texas. She loves the hill country there and brought some of her favorite characters from the Texas Heat series to Austin for the fast-paced suspense in the three books in that series.

You can check out Gerry’s website at gerrybartlett.com to find her blog and articles for writers. Her Perils of Publishing gives the scoop on what happens once "the call" comes. Oh, did you think it would be all roses and champagne? Well, of course it is.

When Gerry's not writing, she's treasure hunting for her antiques business in Alvin. Her favorite finds? Vintage purses and jewelry. It's a struggle not to keep it all. Be sure to sign up for her newsletter for the latest info about her books at http://ymlp.com/xgeyeewwgmgw

Of the three Glory books I do believe this one is my favorite. Even with the absolutely annoying Lucky (who I am sure will somehow come back to haunt Glory in later books) it was a fun sory and filled with exciting parts, most of which include Blade. I can't get enough of him! Keep hoping Glory will settle down with him, lord knows he deserve it after all these years chasing her. But the friction with Ray was great too and I am sure he will pop up again to wreck some havoc. While the major plotlines from former books (vampire hunter, EVs)were barely touched on, the snippets given were inticing. All in all a fabulous read and leaves me wanting more from strong-willed GLory and her group of fabulous friends.

This was the third entry in the Glory St. Claire series and it reinforced what a fun time one can have with 'Every Woman's Vampire', Glory St. Claire and her adventures. This series is Urban Fantasy blended with Romantic Comedy and Chick Lit making it quite the entertaining read.

In this one, Glory and her shapeshifter bodyguard, Valdez, come across a dying human woman in the alley behind Glory's store. Glory can tell a vampire did it and she realizes that this woman is beyond saving by human means so she turns the woman.

No good deed goes unpunished, Glory learns. Lucky (yes that is her name) Carver is not the grateful type and she likes to live high and fast. Glory tries to teach her new protege a few rules with number one being secrecy, but Lucky isn't having any when it comes to rules nor does she seem all that concerned about the fact that obviously somebody wanted her dead.

Glory has her hands full occupied with Lucky's situation, the news that Jerry might have a daughter that he wants to find and that somehow Glory has acquired a blackmailer to add to her list of enemies. Oh, and tack on an uneasy acquaintance with a rock god and yeah, the winter holidays are shaping up to be pretty exciting.

This one didn't get as intense with the action as the last book, but yet I didn't feel it was lacking either. There was a lot going on, but this didn't cause a sloppy plot. Things seem random and unconnected until the end when it makes sense. Glory still has her insecurities and there are those who like to poke at them in this book, but she does pretty well pushing back at them. I enjoyed the new situation of seeing Glory dealing with mentoring a new vampire and seeing that side of it all. It was also interesting seeing her in action. That last big scene showed some serious Cunning Glory as she worked all the players and revealed that she wasn't fooled by several people. I was glad to get some good Jerry/Glory time too. Love this couple together.

To sum up, another good installment in the series offering a mystery, some mild drama, some laughs, some hot passion and relationship development all in one. Those who enjoy light Urban Fantasy should give these a go.

The third book in the Glory St. Clair series.

Glory and Valdez stumble upon a human who has been attacked by a vampire and left for dead in the alley behind her apartment. (I know - That alley should have a skull and cross bones on it!) Glory has to decide quickly if she should let the human die or turn her first vampire - something she never ever wanted to do. She takes one look at the womans purse laying next to her (Hermes Birken bag and gucci wallet) and decides that anyone which such impecable taste in accessories must live!

Turns out the woman she saved is named Lucky Carver (get the title now?) and she is a loan shark payment enforcer for her fathers loan shark business. Oh - And a complete b to the itch. Poor Glory has her hands full with this gal and she soon regrets her decision but what can you do?

Lucky's father offers a big cash reward for info on who hurt his daughter. Glory has her eye on the prize - but sadly so do many other unsavory characters.

All kinds of fun and craziness again in this book. The 4th comes out this month and I can't wait to dig into that as well. I love Glory's sassy attitude and Valdez the body guard dog is funny and kinda sweet in his own way. A Funny and Sexy series.

When plus size 400 year old vampire Glory St. Clair and Valdez, her bodyguard dog come home to find a woman, (Lucky Carver) in the ally behind her shop with her throat ripped out and breathing her last breath, Glory realizes she will have to save Lucky herself by doing something she had never wanted to do, turning her into a vampire.

Unfortunately Lucky is not the best candidate to be made vampire, she is an enforcer for her families loan shark business, that specialize in making loans to paranormals, which is how Lucky came to be in the ally in the first place. Now Glory must find out who tried to kill Lucky, stop a blackmailer that videoed Glory turning her into a vampire and try to guide the woman onto the right path, which is no easy task, Lucky’s goal is to experience vampire sex, and slide her fangs into the nearest human.

This book was a light and entertaining read, just right for relaxing. There were a few holes in the story but hopefully they will be wrapped up in later books. As it was the third book in the series by Gerry Bartlett I will be getting the first two to catch myself up on the life and times of Glory St. Clair.

My Thoughts:

This series just keeps getting better and better, I started this book and finished within twenty-four hours. The books flow well, and I’ve just become a huge fan of Glory’s. And when the book get’s you, it grabs a hold and doesn’t let go, it’s got to be a great read.

Ms Bartlett has a different spin on the Vampire romance; the books are fast paced with very lovable characters. I’ve laughed out loud so many times I can’t count anymore. And it just keeps getting better.

The third book in the Glory St. Claire series opens with Glory and her shape-shifting dog/bodyguard Valdez finding a woman, bleeding to death from a vampire bite, in the alley behind her vintage clothing emporium. Against her better judgement but unable to leave the woman to die, Glory turns her into a vampire. Little does she know that Lucky Carver is daughter of and enforcer for a powerful loan shark to the paranormal community. She's also a heap of trouble. Now Glory must deal with introducing Lucky to the vampire way of life, finding Lucky's attacker so she can get the substantial reward, and, horror of horrors, a visit from her boyfriend's horrible mother.

This book continues the enjoyable antics of Glory and her circle of eccentric vampire and shifter friends in Austin, TX. Nothing scary here, just one funny soap opera with fangs!

This is the installment of the 'Glory' series that introduces the (now) eternal 'bad boy', Israel Caine. While Jerry and Glory are my OTP for this series, it's hard not to fall (kinda like Glory does) for this tragically handsome rock star. The author clearly had a journey mapped out for Glory, and while the destination was clear (Blade and Glory living happily FOREVER after), the road to get there did have some interesting stops along the way. Ray (Israel's real name) isn't the perfect specimen that Glory once believed him to be, yet once Glory gets to know her idol, instead of finding his flaws distasteful, it makes her see the true man beneath the veneer & it's one she comes to love. Israel is a bad boy, but we know that they're the hardest to get over and the easiest to get under ;)

Three and a half stars. This installment is definitely an improvement over the last two books. Glory is still a bit stupid though. After 400 years, one would think she would get a little wiser. But...no. She just keeps on letting people off the hook for the horrible things they do. And of course, it comes back to bite her on the ample behind.

I honestly don't like Glory and I started reading every other page when I was 130 pages from the end. I have books 7, 8, & 9 already on hand so I'm mentally committed to reading them too but I'm not thrilled about it. I hope that I'm pleasantly surprised.

Good book, a little twist in this one, great plot line, good writing, lots of sex. So if you don't like X rated sex, don't read this series. Just a fair warning. But otherwise great paranormal book romance/ mystery.

Meet Gloriana St. Claire, Glory to her friends, an independent woman, um make that vampire, who has moved to Austin, TX to open up a vintage clothing shop. Glory has been with her on-again off-again life love, Jeremiah Campbell,III for the past 400 years. In the third installment, Glory is back with a bang! She is making quite a killing, no pun intended, with her Vintage Vamp’s Emporium and enjoying the very independent lifestyle she’s trying to lead. Of course, she still has Valdez, her shape shifter bodyguard who was hired by Jeremiah aka Jerry Blade to protect Glory at all costs.

Glory finds herself in a moral situation when she and Valdez return to her apartment one night to find a woman bleeding out in her alley. She has to make a decision to let the woman die or turn her vampire; something she said she would never do. Her sense of responsibility runs away with the wind when she finds out that Lucky Carver is a sociopath who is more psychotic as a vampire than she was as a mortal! Even though Lucky is slightly deranged, Glory still tries to help her and wants desperately to find the vampire who attacked Lucky in the alley and left her for dead. Of course she would become much richer at the same time since Lucky’s father is a loan shark and has offered a million dollars as reward for turning in the culprit.

During her escapade, Glory attracts the advances of yet another vampire, newly made Israel Caine aka Ray, her fantasy musician lover. He despises her when he is newly turned because he doesn’t want to comprehend what being turned means to him, but after the shock wears off he is very grateful to Glory for helping him deal with his transition. This attracts Jerry’s attention, of course, because he is the only vamp for Glory. Take a ride with Glory in her latest adventure as she deals with a blackmailer, Lucky, Ray, Jerry, Mara, and the one and only Magdalena…Jerry’s mother.

What I love about Glory St. Claire is her do all attitude and her caring personality. Even though there are those that threaten her individuality and independence she would still take the higher road than stoop to their level. I am anxious to see if she will finally say yes to Jerry as long as he accepts her as she is. The title on this one threw me off a bit. I was thinking that there was some erotic undertone to it, but alas it was a play on Lucky Carver’s name and the fact that Glory made her a vampire. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.

Another exciting, humorous Glory story.

In this one Gloria finds an almost dead women who’s’ been attacked by a rogue vampire in the alley behind her apartment. She decides to turn her first vampire in order to save her, but has to call Jerry to find out how. The lady turns out to be an enforcer for her father’s mafia-style paranormal loan company. She also has a huge chip on her shoulder and refuses to follow Glory’s advice.

*Spoilers*

Later she gives Glory an unwelcome thank you present of Glory and Flo’s favorite rock star Israel Caine, who’s now a newly turned vampire. But Glory gets her back with a tattoo.

I love Gloria. She’s so down to earth and has excellent ideas on how to handle her chaotic problems, which she needs at the end of the book.

Jerry wants their romance to take the next step and Glory is all for it, until Mara announces a family surprise. At least Jerry stands up (mostly) to his mother and Mara, shows them he’s with Glory and tries to compensate for their rudeness. Though if I were Glory I’d arrange for Mag’s ‘untimely’ demise. Maybe through Lucky.

Mara is kleptomaniac (another reason to hate her)and takes advantage of Jerry with his mom’s consent. And Mab’s ‘cat’ is awful. I’d like to see Valdez teach him a lesson. I also wish Jerry, and Mab would find out what’s going on with Mara and the ‘cat’. It would be hysterical to watch Mab’s reaction.

Thoughts: 1)I love Price Igor. Even though he’s a softie and makes mistakes, he owns up to them and tries to correct the problem. He has good morals. I hope we see more of him.

2)Didn’t see much of Glory’s ghosts in this one. I like them. They could help a lot with some of her business problems.

3)Glory should have told Jerry that Simon showed up in Austin, it might have saved him a trip to Transylvania and solved the problem of him heading off with Mara again. But then he’d still have to go to find Lily.

4)Damian’s Winter Solstice party was fascinating. He arranged cool entertainment and was the perfect setting for the ending drama. Looks like he’s getting the hint on Glory’s commitment to Jerry, but now she has Ray to worry about. Poor Jerry.

Fave scenes: Glory turning Lucky, Mab and Mara’s visit to her store and Jerry & Glory’s date on his new property and Glory’s meeting with Lucky’s father

The third installment of the Glory St. Clair series starts off with a bang. Upon returning home one evening, Glory smells delicious blood coming from the alley behind her store and apartment. She decides to investigate with her precious puppy/bodyguard Valdez and discovers a woman has been attacked and left for dead. Despite Glory’s aversion to creating new vampires, she must turn this woman, aptly named Lucky, in order to save her life. The thing is, Lucky is a real pain in the butt and she doesn’t much care for following the vampire rules, or any rules for that matter. Glory has a lot to deal with when it comes to Lucky!

Real Vampires Get Lucky is a fantastic, light read. The plot was engaging and suspenseful with many twists and turns, but I found the ending to be just a tiny bit easy to figure out. I guessed who the “bad guys” were before they were fully revealed, but that didn’t actually take away from my enjoyment of the story. The romance aspect of the novel was steamy, but didn’t really develop or change the relationship between Glory and Blade other than to show her frustration with his immortal mother. The plot moved fairly quickly and it was easy to finish the novel in only a couple sittings.

Glory is a character that everyone is able to relate to in at least some small fashion. She embodies so many of the characteristics that are common to average women, such as having a less than perfect figure. The development of Glory’s personality was good. She ends the story a stronger, more ballsy person than she started as. The addition of a few new characters focused quite a bit of the plot on the basic vampire abilities, rules, and etiquette of the Glory universe as well as adding a new potential love interest for Glory. Lucky is a spunky, funny character, but I did find that she started to grate on my nerves the longer she stuck around. I think that’s to be expected however.

Overall, Real Vampires Get Lucky is a delightful novel. I’d recommend this series to anyone looking for a light vampire read with a sassy vampire heroine. It’s perfect for lazy weekends.

When a female loan shark is attacked and left for dead, vampire Glory St. Clair turns her into one of the undead to save her. But Lucky's flamboyant behavior is not only drawing every vampire hunter within miles-its bringing her would-be killer out of hiding, too.

What we learned;

1. This book isn't as good as the previous two.

2. Glory has finally made herself a vampire, (not really her choice. It was either that, or leave her to die) with the help of her sire Jerry. Of course, Luciana (Lucky) turns out to be some sort of loan shark collector with a family steeped heavily in mob ties. She's also not a very nice person. She's annoying, smart mouthed, irritating, all of the above.

3. Lucky, in a fit of revenge, then turns Israel (Ray) Crane into a vampire and leaves him in Glory's bed. Ok, this part wasn't too bad. I mean, really? Holy mother of murkatroid batman. Where's mine?!?!?!

4. Glory is being blackmailed by someone who caught her biting and changing Lucky into a vampire. Long story short, he did it for the money and to get away from the EV's.

5. Jeremiah's mother and Maya come into town, and of course, his mother is really evil incarnate. She thinks Glory is a slut and nothing will ever change her mind.

6. Then there's the clown demons who torture Will nonstop with Knock Knock jokes.

7. Of course now, you have the Jerry, Ray, Glory love triangle and you just know that it's not going to end up well.

Sorry, can't rate this any higher than 2.5 stars this time around.

I'm liking this series a lot more with each book. The world they live in and their rules of existence are making more sense, and Glory is really growing on me. Also, these take place in Austin - a big plus!

One thing that really annoys me about this series, though, is the inconsistency of Glory's weight. In the first book we are told she was merely "bloated" when she was bitten, but then we are told she is chubby. Um, bloated and chubby are NOT the same thing. The books go back and forth on whether or not she just needs to lose a few pounds, just has a few nice curves, or is bordering on obese. I've seen her described different ways in just one chapter!

Normally I could care less about a detail like this, but I bring it up because it's constantly mentioned. I'm not sure we go more than a few pages without someone commenting on Glory's ample assets, or some girl calling Glory fat, or Glory moaning that she can't fit into her roommate's clothes, or Glory saying she wished she had skipped a meal the day she was bitten, etc. If the book itself is so fixated on Glory's weight, it's impossible for me not to be as well.

One other irritation I have with this series is Blade and Glory's relationship. WHY won't Glory settle down with him? It just makes no sense. I don't understand why he even tries anymore, as I would have given up on her a long time ago.

Even so, I am liking this series. It's cute, fun and enjoyable.

I can always count on a fun and thrilling read in one of these Glory St. Clair books. I had stumbled upon this series by accident. Saw the first book on sale at Barnes and Noble and picked it up. Since then I haven't stopped getting these books when I can find them.

This book has Glory turning a human to a vampire. Something she doesn't want to do. When her and Valdez stumble upon Lucky Carver behind her shop bleeding out, Gloria has to decide to either save her or let her die. I will say that Lucky is annoying from the beginning.

Lucky is not one to be quiet and unseen and now that she is a vampire she has to learn the vampires rules. As always Glory is very entertaining with the men in her life and it is great to see Blade in this book. I look forward to the next book and possibly seeing Lucky in future books.

Much like the other Glory books this has the fun, comic angle but also good storyline feel to it!

Glory is using her powers more (finally after 400 years) and even made a vampire - this however leads to some disatorous outcomes and some extra hassles! Her and Blade are still on again off again - however more on than off although still have some bumps to smooth out - and Valdez is as funny and brilliant as ever.

This time we see a new face - Lucky, Glory's made vampire - a bit of a hand full and not a character I liked (don't think we are meant to though so thats ok!) We still see the old gang and there are a couple of twists in this book that I never saw coming so will be great to see how they play out in the next book!

Still loving the Glory stories and this one also gets a 4/5 like the others!

I loved this book! This whole series is great and I can't wait to read the next one. Gerry Bartlett is suspensful, edgy, and just plain magical in her writing, you can't put this book down once you start it. I've loved this series from the beginning and it has just gotten better with time. I can't wait to read the next on and will definitely go out and buy the fifth one the day it comes out. Most vampire stories are dramatic or overdone, not this one, it is so original and unlike any other. Glory is a character you just fall in love with every time you read about what she has gotten herself into this time. This is one of the best vampire series I have read lately and will definitely continue until it has to sadly come to an end. Keep on writing and I'll definitely keep reading!

This was better than the last two. I guess it's a good sign that the books seem to be getting progressively better. Although I thought it seemed a little strange that all of a sudden she and Jerry are saying "I love you" when they were making a point of not saying it in the preceeding books...or how Diana and Damian seem to be together again even though she supposedly hates him...and the addition of a new character more than halfway through the book seemed a little silly...and I was kind of hoping Glory and Richard could hook up, rather than Flo acting completely out of character and marrying him. So I guess the author needs to remember to be more consistent with her characters, but whatever. ;)

As usual the story is full of holes. Large, gaping holes this time. In the first few scenes Glory is worried about what is going on at the store but she has time to have a full conversation with Lucky, take a shower, and then have a phone conversation. It would have been just as easy to say, "Excuse me a minute while I run to the store and check in." The store is mostly forgotten through the latter part of the book.

As usual the book is wrapped up in a nice little bow with nothing being resolved. Glory takes the most passive way possible to resolve her problems while somehow thinking she has come out looking like a shining star. I have no idea what direction these books are going in and I'm afraid the author does not either.

I really do love this series of books, but with the introduction of Ray (Israel Caine), I'm starting to worry. His growing feelings for Glory are ahowing all the signs of a love triangle... I. HATE. LOVE. TRIANGLES!!! She obviously loves Jerry, so why introduce someone else??? It irks me!!! I'm hesitating to read the next book coz I'm sure this is what is going to happen. But I'll be brave... or cheat and read some reviews to see if a love triangle does show up... then all bets are off about reading any subsequent ones!

But I digress... I did enjoy this one and I love Glory and I love Jerry. The only downside (except for the looming previously mentioned love triangle) was that the ghosts didn't show up very much and I really like them! But awesome book and awesome series!!

I am loving this book series I liked all the new cast members even the ones I hate ... lol oi is his mother a piece of work or what ?? lol wow JB is fang-tastic but I'm not sure I would want to marry into that family either I know in the end she will wind up being the happy vampire bride but who could blame Glory for not jumping into things I mean she may be 400 + years old but its not like shes going to die anytime soon so there really is no need to rush into anything lol
I was pretty much shocked by the whole Lucky thing I never thought Glory would turn anyone and then of all the people to turn she gets stuck with a psycho idiot at least she got an awesome bag out of the deal .. ;)
anyways I'm off to start reading the next book in the series Happy Reading everyone .. :)

Out of the three Glory books I've read so far, this one was easily the funniest. It was also, unfortunately, the most incoherent. The big mystery plot aspect got rather sloppily wrapped up at the very end; a new character, Lucky, disappears throughout the book; and the interactions of Glory and Blade's mother are so sporadic I completely forgot who Randolph was. Also, Mara is suddenly now a shoplifter? Did this trait appear in the other books?

The real treat of the book is when Glory must deal with a mess Lucky has made: turning music superstar Israel Caine, or Ray, into a vampire and then dumping him on Glory's doorstep. Best part of the story in my book.

PS: am I the only one who pictures Florence/Flo to look and sound like Sofia Vergara?

Wow! Glory is growing up to be a force to be reckoned with. She's been the tender hearted, kick butt, independent woman, but now having saved a human and turning Lucky... Glory has found her inner vampire strength and is even more impressive on this book. Of course now we have another hot male, new vampire to boot, that she gets to babysit. The laughs are great. The intensity of this book really thickened and the story seemed to develop much deeper than the other two. Real relationships cemented, esp. for Flo, and histories began to unfold.
This book has become my favorite, yet I was disappointed in the behaviors of some of the people. The dark sides exposed. But I can't wait to see what will come in the future books.

Glory St. Clair finds a woman dying in the alley behind her store. To save her Glory turns her into a vampire. Little does she know the can of worms she is opening. The woman, Lucky, is part of a mob family and crazy as a loon. On top of that, someone video'd her "saving" Lucky and is threatening to out Glory on YouTube. But never fear, Glory and her band of paranormal friends manage to handle all their problems while remaining stylish right down to their designer purses.

I love this series. The story is always fun. The writing is very good and and well, believable, considering it is paranormal, chick lit romance. Guilty pleasure

As per more recent popular she-vampire books, the main character in this book is a size twelve vamp with a talking shifter-dog for a body guard and her hunky sire that she's been on-again-off-again for four hundred years.

When the main character finds a lady dying in the alleyway behind her second hand clothing store she has to make a choice: break her personal rule against ever turning a human or changing the dying owner of a birkin hand bag owner?

Though I DEFINITELY could've lived without all the fashion jarbon this was a pretty good book and I will def be reading the next one (thanks to some random stranger's suggestion in Borders).
