About the author

Francesco Artibani (born 27 October 1968) is an Italian comics writer, most notably known for his work on Disney comics.
Artibani originally studied animation. He debuted in comics in 1992, scripting an Uncle Scrooge story for the Italian weekly Disney comics magazine 'Topolino'. Besides writing stories for Topolino, since the 90's Artibani contributed to various innovative comic projects from Disney Italia, such as PKNA, MMMM and W.I.T.C.H. He is also the co-creator of the Monster Allergy comics series.

I distinctly remember reading this volume. I had a strong dislike of Cornelia way back when and reading it again now, she is still my least favorite but I'm excited to see how the girls' relationships and dynamics develop throughout the series.
This was so full of action and excitement from the episode with Miss Rudolph to the journey to the other dimension Metaworld and the encounter with Lord Cedric and the very end of this issue. While I definitely know I got this issue back in the day, I don't think I continued reading the next one, at least I have no recollection of that so I'll have to keep reading to remember.

Qué reconfortante es volver a leer después de casi 20 años un cómic tan entretenido, bonito y divertido como este. Lo disfruté casi tanto como cuando era niña y recordé y reviví cada escena, disfrutando de esas sorpresas que no paraban de aparecer en la trama, esa magia y esos diálogos de vez en cuando tan graciosos.
Me quedo con ganas de seguir leyendo los otros cómics y redescubrir todas las aventuras de este grupo de amigas tan único 💗

This one ends on a cliffhanger with Taranee.

One of the things I'm really interested in is seeing more of Taranee's family. I know her brother plays a role later on too and I'm definitely interested in seeing her home or what her parent's do.

Rereading this after so many years, is making me so very happy! I Keep reminding many events and little pictures that had been stuck into my memory for all those years.

On this issue they used a portal to Meridian, for the first time, and have to face Elyon (who has betrayed them). They also discovered their astral drops in order to cover a mess that comes with their visit to Meridian. And that's super cool because I remember that I used to wish for one of those.

I had a blast with this one! I'm once again fascinated by how well handled the group is, balancing these girls' daily life and their magical shenanigans.
We get to experience the Metaworld for the first time and it's such an interesting view. The lead villains remind me a lot of a villain of the week in Dragon Ball (And I say this with nothing but love in my heart.)

Needless to say, I'm delighted with every new fact that comes to light.
This would make an amazing light novel too, btw. Regardless, I look forward to continuing onwards!

Aloitin aikoinaan W.i.t.c.h.-sarjakuvien lukemisen tästä osasta. Vaikka olen sittemmin lukenut ensimmäisen saagan alusta asti monen monta kertaa, minun mielikuvissani tarina alkaa tästä numerosta. Ensimmäisestä lukukerrasta muistan sen, että sarjiksen aloittava Willin uni hämmensi minua suuresti. Luulin ettei hänellä ole kasvoja, kuten uni antaa ymmärtää. Nyt uudella lukukerralla ihmettelen suuresti sitä, kuinka hyvin olen noin 10-vuotiaana hypännyt tarinan matkaan, vaikka kolmannessa osassa maailman säännöt on jo pitkälti selitetty: Kandrakar, tyttöjen voimat, kudos... Olin kyllä hiukan hämmentynyt siitä, kuka Elyon on, mutta kyllä se pikkuhiljaa tuli selväksi. Tässä kolmannessa osassa lukijoille esitellään Meridian ensimmäisen kerran, joten ehkä numero oli hyvä hetki hypätä sarjaan mukaan.

Muistan että lapsena Cornelia oli mielestäni ärsyttävä ja Irma ja Hay Lin hauskoja, mutta nyt mielipiteeni on päinvastainen. Cornelia puhuu asiaa, kun peräänkuuluttaa harjoittelun tarvetta ja kritisoi sitä, kuinka kehnosti heidät on perehdytetty kudoksen vartioiksi. Hehän ovat tässä vaiheessa tarinaa kuulleet tehtävästään vasta Hay Linin mummolta, joka kuoli pian sen jälkeen. Tytöt eivät ole edes käyneet Kandrakarissa tai tavanneet oraakkelia, vaikka ovat olleet jo useassa kiperässä tilanteessa, ja nyt Taraneekin on kaapattu. Willin usko Kandrakarin sydämeen on liikuttava ja aika ominaista teinitytölle, jonka elämä on jokseenkin perusturvallista: kiperässäkin tilanteessa on olemassa jokin ylempi taho, joka tulee avuksi.

Todo inicia conmigo en una librería en Italia y un cupón de 10 euros para gastar. Revisando todos los libros posibles, encontré este que me trajo un viejo recuerdo de infancia y no dudé en comprarlo.

W.I.T.C.H es una serie de fantasía que nos presenta a cinco amigas y a las aventuras y misterios que vivirán. En este caso, el libro que compré traía los primeros cinco volúmenes de la serie:

Halloween
I dodici portali
L'altra dimensione
Il potere del fuoco
L'ultima lacrima

Todos con cinco estrellas porque no se merece menos. Es una historia brillante, simple de leer y que te mantiene curiosa en la trama.

En este tomo he de decir que no me está cayendo muy bien Cornelia... Está un poco pesada e inaguantable. Aunque sí es cierto que muy probablemente yo sería igual que ella si estuviera en su lugar... Estaría muy perdida y con miedo. Pero es que Cornelia es un poco borde jajajaja

Me dio pena la profesora, no le hizo daño a nadie y aún así querían librarse de ella :( ❤️‍🩹
¡Y no me esperaba a ver a Phobos ya! ¡Qué miedo! Pobre Elyon, creo que le comieron la cabeza.

You can tell that the girls are still only starting to bond with each other and form a chemistry. I definitely don't remember Cornelia being so antagonistic? impatient? lol. Still interesting though!

De verdad que no esperaba esta situación (y a estas alturas) de engancharme a la novela gráfica de las Witch, pero ¿hola? ¿ese final? Mi yo de la infancia esta gritando de la emoción y la intriga. Creo que hay como más de 100 entregas de esta saga, veremos donde me lleva.

The more issues I reread, the more I realise why I was so obsessed with this comic as a kid! The girls, particularly Cornelia, are having some issues with their newfound magical powers and fact that they have suddenly gone from normal school girls to the guardians that protect the veil between different worlds. But none the less they are practicing to fine tune their magic. There’s action, reveals, vibrant colours and stunning character designs. And on top of all that, there’s a genuinely good plot! This series is aimed at a younger audience and that is very obvious when reading, but that story is fun and interesting. My love for this series still lives on!
