When Agent Kiara Davenport and Agent Jake Carter were assigned new partners, they had hoped the cases would also be new. But, a serial killer is back in town, and Jake has to follow his trail. The only clue left behind is the dying words of the three victims. And, before he could have asked Kiara's help, she is sucked into a high political game that is spread across continents. Will they be able to solve the cases without each other's help and that too using their new, inexperienced partners?
A disappontment! Un-believeable plot line, weak characters and bizarre interaction (do professional law enforcement personnelle really act the way the author portrays?) ... and the lack of editting added to the frustration reading this novel.
An unusual murder mystery with the usual twists. The plot is unconvincing and the story line not gripping enough. Varun Vashist is capable of much better stuff as he has amply demonstrated in some of his other novels.
There were quite a bit of grammatical errors, which was frustrating because you had to rewrite it in your mind. Was a little tedious at times but still kept you reading.
I have never given a book a rating so low. The plot, two simultaneous investigation, is dismal. The investigations plod along to less than spectacular conclusions. The investigators spend pages wrapping up the endings because there are no connections. The writer uses the same descriptors and intersections repeatedly. In all, a supreme waste of time.
Story isn't bad, but the continuous grammatical errors really detracts from the ambience. At one point it felt like there was a mistake on every page. Characters were a bit generic though, didn't find much to like about them and keep me invested. I would have taken a half star off the rating for the lack of editing if I could have.
Writing about two cases being investigated at the same can be tricky but this is just downright confusing. The switching between cases bogs down. There are numerous grammatical errors which contribute to the difficulty in enjoying this book,
A very well written story of who was killing people. One person lived who believed it was aliens n was in hiding for seven years. A hard book to put down. Can you figure out who the real killer is?? Enjoy, not all is as it seems.
I couldn't even finish this book. It was as if it had been poorly translated from another language. The dialog and expressions were weird and it jumped around so it was hard to figure out what was going on.
