In the midst of enemy werewolves and the hordes of undead, Dirk and Dora's sexual tension ignites a blaze hotter than the desert highway. Along their journey, they battle the inevitable: a werewolf must never take a witch as a mate.

Years ago when I started getting back into reading I read several Eva Gordon books and I loved them. They were a change from the period romances I almost exclusively read and I was hooked.
I was therefore excited when I discovered she had a lot more books out there for me to read.
Dr Dora Adler discovers she’s a witch after being bitten by a zombie and caged next to a werewolf.
Dirk Gunderson is an alpha wolf. He’s attracted to Dora and recognises her as a witch. It slowly dawns on him that Dora is also his mate. The problem is mating between wolves and witches are forbidden.
One of my problems was that it takes so long for Dirk to acknowledge Dora as his mate. One of the things I enjoy most about shifter romances is the instant recognition of mates. And the fact that nothing can keep them apart. Not that they willing try to keep themselves away.
Also and again this is me but as a name, in this case Dirk just didn’t work for me. I don’t know why and I assumed it would grow on me but it didn’t.
The main problem for me was the book itself was just too long. It was longer than the plot and seemed to drag a bit at times.
Now I do love a good shifter read and while this is an easy enjoyable read I felt something was missing. The older I get and the more books I read the pickier I become. All the things I liked about her previous books were here but for me it was missing an edge. It could just be me who wanted something a little darker or edgier. And I do think it’s me that’s changed. If I’d read this years ago I would have rated it higher and loved it more.
Despite my moaning I’m moving on to Raven Moon since Rave intrigues me.

Dr. Dora Adler fully expects to die on her 27th so when she is bitten by a patient with the zombie virus, she is resigned to her fate. However she is immune to the disease and is transferred to another lab to be tested, while there she meets Dirk. Dirk is an alpha werewolf, he is immune to the disease and the two of them can talk telepathically. The two of them plan to escape, Dora wants to find her brother, Dirk wants to take her back to his pack. Can the two of them escape the compound full of guards, get past the zombies? Will they stay together? Will they give in to the growing attraction they are feeling or will everything fall apart? This book was really good, I loved how the author kept the book from being to serious and dark, she added a lightness that was refreshing. Dirk was a great Alpha male hero, he had that aura of authority and he was willing to fight for Dora. Dora was just awesome, she is sarcastic, determined and had attitude for days. She didn't do things just because they were easier. This book is full of action, rife with sexual tension and the emotions between the characters are sweet and real, they bring to question what's more important duty or love. Apocalyptic Moon is a great book and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book set in this world.

Take a zombie apocalypse and weave in werewolves, shape-shifters, witches, unpredictable magic, and you have a fantastical and engaging story that surpasses a typical paranormal novel.

The story begins in the midst of a zombie outbreak, also called the “Z-phage pandemic,” and four months later, there still isn't a vaccine to neutralize the infection. Not only are law enforcement, scientists, and medical personnel working to control the zombie infestation, but werewolves are behind the scenes forming alliances with each other to ensure their survival.
The tone of this novel is unusual compared to some other zombie apocalyptic novels where seriousness and tension surround the characters who live daily in constant fear for their lives. Although Gordon certainly acknowledges the gravity of the situation, she has created characters who are trying their best to adapt to their new reality. The characters’ use of deadpan humor and sarcasm provides an element of relief in this chaotic world.

Dr. Dora Adler and Dirk Gunderson are the main characters narrating the events that unfold. Having dual first-person point-of-views help the reader connect with and care about what both characters are forced to endure. This POV also allows the reader to become immersed in this tumultuous world where Dora and Dirk form an unlikely alliance for survival.
Dora is a physician who screens new patients showing possible signs of infection. While assessing a patient in the emergency room, Dora is attacked and bitten by newly-turned zombie.

She knows the inevitable is about to happen. She has become infected from the bite and will soon turn into a zombie. Like other patients who are infected, she will be quarantined in a secure area located in the hospital basement, where she will never be seen again. All she will do is wait for a bullet to the head.
Surprisingly, Dora appears to be immune to the infection. Because she shows no signs of turning, she is quickly whisked away to a secretive, government operated underground facility called “Lab Zero” where scientists work tirelessly to learn more about effective methods for killing existing zombies and search for a cure.
Initially, Dora feels safe and secure in this safe haven, where she can positively contribute in developing a vaccine. However,she is kept in a bulletproof glass cell where she is constantly being poked with needles and continually tested to make sure she is still immune to the virus. Over time, she realizes she is a prisoner held against her will. Now, she just wants to escape the confines of this restrictive environment.

Hope for obtaining her freedom ignites when she meets the strong, handsome Dirk Gunderson with his flaming red hair and the “most intense eyes she’d ever seen. Light blue with tawny flecks of gold around his pupils. Feral eyes. Her skin prickled as if he was predator and she the prey.” Indeed, his look foreshadows the truth about Dirk. He is a sexy alpha werewolf who dresses in leather and rides a Harley when outside of his pack’s compound.

While searching for the werewolf hunter who slaughtered most of his family years ago, Dirk finds himself captured by the very hunter he seeks. Instead of killing him, the hunter sells him to Lab Zero for testing, since wolves are immune to infection caused by zombie bites.
Although Dirk is surly and brooding in his captivity, he can’t help but notice the lovely, brunette, Dora, situated in the cell next to his. The two pass the time engaging in flirtatious banter where they begin to learn more about each other.
During their conversations, three relevant bits of information emerge. First, Dora learns to accept that werewolves do in fact exist, contrary to everything she has been taught.

Second, Dirk figures out Dora is a powerful Aradia witch, whose powers are slowly emerging. Dora is shocked at this discovery: “This can’t be happening. I’m sitting here, listening to a werewolf tell me I’m a witch.” Dora considers the possibility that she is losing her sanity.

Finally, because she is a witch, Dora is able to reach out with her mind and communicate telepathically with Dirk. Their combined abilities prove vital in their successful escape from Lab Zero.
When the opportunity presents itself for escape,Dora and Dirk must battle armed security guards:

Fear of being attacked by zombies enables Dora to realize she does have magical abilities that she can call upon when put in dangerous situations. Although she has had no formal training in using her magic, rhyming seems to work for her some of the time. For example, when she gets trapped in a bathroom with zombies, she calls out “Abracadabra with so many zombies in sight, do let me escape by flight.” Her intention on escape along with the rhyme allows her to levitate to the ceiling until Dirk comes to her rescue. He tells her, “Good thing you have your witchmacallit going on.” The unpredictability of her magic definitely keeps the story interesting and unpredictable.
Once they manage to escape, Dora is determined to reunite with her brother and niece, while Dirk wants nothing more than to bring her back to the pack’s compound where she can stay safe and then look for her family. He knows his pack will be overjoyed to have Dora because of she is both a physician and a witch. However, it’s not just her abilities that keep Dirk from abandoning her; it’s their growing attraction to one another:
The union of werewolves and witches is forbidden, and Dirk risks not only being cast out from his own pack, but also starting a war with a rival wolf pack who views witches as the spawn of Satan and seeks their eradication.
The sexual tension between the two reaches its peak when they finally confront each other about their mutual attraction. I really appreciate how both are honest with each other, instead of playing games and denying their true feelings, for fear of rejection. They admit the truth, even though they know it’s wrong to take their relationship to a level beyond friendship.
After this admission, their passion for each other can no longer be denied. When they become intimate, Dirk impulsively sets into motion irrevocable changes that will change their lives forever.

Can Dirk and Dora find a way to be together in the midst of the overwhelming obstacles they face? Besides killing zombies, Dirk and Dora must deal with a kidnapping, enemy wolf attacks, a jealous she-wolf who wants to be Dirk's mate, and the inevitable process of adapting to a changing world where nothing may ever be the same again.
Throughout the book, the author subtly addresses thought-provoking themes for consideration. Do our own self-interests create the potential for devastating consequences that impact the lives of others? How can we adapt in a world that we no longer recognize? Can we put aside our differences and unite for the greater good of humanity?

Dr. Dora Adler is a first rate diagnostician, which comes in handy since the world is in the middle of the Z-phage pandemic, otherwise known as zombie apocalypse. Today is Dora’s 27th birthday, a birthday she is not happy about. Every first born woman in her family for generations has died on or around their 27th birthday, so she is working today and just waiting for the shoe to drop. Imagine Dora’s surprise when she not only lives past her 27th birthday but also survives a zombie bite. Of course, the fact that she has been transported to some secret facility and experimented on like a lab rat doesn’t make things all rosy, but hey, a girl can only ask for so much.
Dora is shocked when a big, hunky red-haired, muscle bound man is brought into the cell next to hers. For his part, Dirk is mad as all get out, rookie move getting captured by none other than his arch enemy, Jaeger, werewolf hunter. Dirk is the alpha wolf of the Fenrir Arbor pack and has been hunting Jaeger since he attached Dirk’s sister Sierra, almost killing her. Not exactly the way he had wanted to meet up with him, but he figures he’ll get out of this sooner or later and just maybe he’ll take the pretty young thing in the next cell with him.
Dora and Dirk have more in common than being prisoners, both are immune to zombie bites and both want out. They will have to work together to achieve their goals, along the way they just might actually start liking each other. Zombies, werewolves, witches and one pint sized Chihuahua with an attitude await, gear up and hold on to your hats, things are going to get messy.
Author Eva Gordon takes a road less traveled in paranormal romance; she has decided to throw zombies into the mix of big bad shifters and witches just to see how much chaos she can cause. She writes from both Dirk and Dora’s point of view, mixing excitement, lust, and more than a little humor, to give the reader one heck of a good book.
Dora and Dirk are the perfect protagonists, both strong people (well one is a strong wolf and the other just so happens to be something else, no spoilers) who not only deal well with everything they come against, they manage to not kill each other. Both have a healthy sense of humor and both are not bad on the eyes. I loved them both from the moment I met them, Dora coming up with one liners about not surviving her 27th birthday and Dirk riding his motorcycle with Fang, his attack white teacup Chihuahua as a companion.
There is a great group of supporting characters throughout the book, too many to mention, but I have to give a shout out to Princess Ravenna (Rave) who is a raven shifter and just plain fun. She likes men, in all shapes and sizes and causing trouble, my kind of girl. There are plenty of Dirk’s pack to meet, along with Dora’s brother Josh and his adorable little girl Melanie. Not to be outdone, there are some pretty bad people as well; most notably mad scientist Dr. Mansfield who runs the lab that kidnaps Dora and Dirk.
There is a lot going on in this book. We have zombies biting people, rogue werewolves kidnapping people, punks people attacking people, jealous girlfriends attacking people, and even warring werewolf packs attacking each other. One almost needs a score card, but not to worry, and Ms. Gordon handles it all and keeps us well entertained. I’m not a fan of the zombie genre but that didn’t get in the way of me enjoying this book.
I enjoyed this book, the give and take between Dora and Dirk was fun, and the heat they generated was, well, hot. Lovers of paranormal romance mixed with a little adventure will love this book.

Eva Gordon, You got me! I am not usually a squeamish reader. I can read about blood and gore. I can picture the badly wounded...but the descriptions of the zombie chomping and the zombie gnashing and the zombie chewing thingy...got me. I am still tensing my neck as I am typing this review. So what can I say, but your story was very interesting? I enjoyed it. Your descriptions did not let up and was superb!
Dr Dora Adler is a doctor. We meet her as she is about to celebrate her 27th birthday. This day comes with more than mild trepidation, as it is historically her death warrant. Generations before her, the first born daughter dies on the day or pretty close to it. The world as we know it is being rampaged by a virus called Z-phage pandemic that is turning all humans into the walking dead `zombies.' Dora is bitten by a zombie and is quickly taken to the lower bowels of the hospital to wait to die. Happy Birthday to her! When the staff realizes she doesn't turn into a zombie, Dora is secreted like a prisoner to another facility and treated like a lab rat by the evil Dr Mansfield.
Through the glass she watches a beautiful red headed male brought in strapped to a gurney and put in the cell next door to her. We learn Dirk is an alpha wolf of the Fenrir Arbor pack and has been hunting a wolf hunter named Jaeger since he attacked and almost killed his sister Sierra. Brought in drugged with wolfsbane, unhappy for allowing himself to get caught, Dirk is one angry young man. The `Plan' now is for both of them to break out, but Dr Mansfield has other ideas. Dora and Dirk have to use their brains and brawn to escape and head west to Dora's brother and daughter, and to Dirk's pack.
Our author takes us on a wonderful story of two people learning about each other, working together and falling in love. Dirk, being an alpha, is a do first ask questions later kind of guy, and I worried how this accomplished Doctor would take it that Dirk made decisions with her life and then tried to keep these decisions from her. The path west was fraught with danger, and we experienced the good, the bad and the ugly (chomp, chomp chomp)
The story was strong and the supporting characters were great as well. We met shifters of all kinds, including Aviary Shifters, one being Princess Rave and her soon-to-be mate. She was so much fun, and added so much to the light side of the story. We can agree in the truth that nothing is worse than a woman scorned, when we see what happens when Dirk returns back to the pack with a new lover.
The most grisly part of the book were fighting the zombies, with them losing body parts and having their heads hacked off. I have never been a fan of this genre, but I am so happy I read this book, and am looking forward to another as there is an opening for future stories. This was a solid first book for a series.

Eva Gordon, You got me! I am not usually a squeamish reader. I can read about blood and gore. I can picture the badly wounded...but the descriptions of the zombie chomping and the zombie gnashing and the zombie chewing thingy...got me. I am still tensing my neck as I am typing this review. So what can I say, but your story was very interesting? I enjoyed it. Your descriptions did not let up and was superb!

Where was this gem hidden? How didn’t I find it before? I’m a paranormal junkie who loves a good end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it theme! Apocalyptic Moon has it all! Werewolves, wait, let me re-phrase that, a HOT Alpha werewolf, a strong female who lives under a family curse of an early death, who discovers she is more than a mere human, humans acting inhumanely, and zombies. Add to that, the fabulous writing talent of author Eva Gordon, who has nailed this story to the wall and I’m in book heaven! Zombies are taking over the world with just one bite, infecting humans, turning them, one by one and science has found no cure. Dora is a doctor in a family where many of the women die on their twenty-seventh birthday, and guess where the book opens? Yep, Dora’s birthday and she is waiting for the grim reaper to show up, anytime. Instead, she is bitten by an infected zombie with Z-Phage (the virus) and does not get sick so she gets shuffled off to a super-secret underground facility where she gets to be a prisoner/lab rat. Dirk, a strong alpha werewolf is captured and brought in because werewolves are immune to the Z-Phage virus, also. In spite of the circumstances, when Dora sees his hotness through the glass that separates them, she finds a plus side to this nightmare! (Bad Dora…;) )

Wow this book has it all , witches, zombies and werewolves. Meet Dr. Dora Adler , Shs is about to die on her 27th birthday. She is working hard in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. Her life takes a turn for the worse when she is bitten by a patient and is taken away to an under ground bunker. Where she is held captive. All because she is immune to the zombie bite. So they run test after test on her. Also on the big hot man that is in the cell beside her.
Dirk is one hot alpha werewolf. The leader of the Arbor pack. He also is captured and sold to the lab for testing. He know he has to get out of the lab but he isn't going anywhere with Dora, who by the way is a witch . Forgot to tell you that
As they fight to get out of the lab they can't fight the desire that they have for each other . Will they survive the apocalypse and will they realize that they are mates . Cause it is not good for werewolves and witches to mate\
I wonder where this book was hidden. I am a paranormal romance junkie and was surprised I hadn't found it a lot sooner. Eva takes us on a faced paced thrill ride. Evem throwing a bit of comedy in there. The new reality tv shows in the apocalypse are ZOMBIE SURVIVAL AND ZOMBIES AND TIARAS. I laughed when I read that . Can you imagine zombies and tiaras parading around.
Of course even when you are in the middle of a apocalypse there is always time for romance . Yes there is hot romance after Dora comes to terms with the fact Dirk is a werewolf and she is a witch. At first she thinks he is crazy then insane when he tells her. But as she thinks about it she realizes that everything Dirk is telling her is true. Eva has written some strong characters. Dora is the girl who will do anything for anyone and she has a heart as big as the grand canyon. She loves her family and will do anything to help them . Dirk is the alpha through and through. He is loyal to a fault and is the picture of the hot alpha bad boy with his good looks and motorcycle. Trust me ladies you will want to hop on to the back of his bike too.
Eva has us sitting on the edge of our seats with page turning adventure and an undying love of two people. As they fight their way through zombies and other werewolves. You want to cheer for them as they finally come to realize the feelings.
Who knew that zombies werewolves and witches would go together but Eva did it flawlessly. So if you want a on the edge of your seat read with hot alphas and the woman that is his mate . In the middle of a zombie outbreak. This is the book for you
check it out , should be on any paranormal romance junkies summer reading list

Things I have a weakness for: Werewolves (especially #NakedWerewolves), Witches, Zombies, and Post-Apocalyptic civilizations. What does this book have? ALL THOSE THINGS! If an amnesiac vampire who was mysteriously snowed in with me FORCING us to share body heat had shown up, I THINK I WOULD HAVE DIED OF ALL THE AWESOME! Good thing that last part didn't happen. I'm not ready to shuck off this mortal coil and all that jazz.
Anyway. This book rocked my socks off. The world is big and nasty. Ravenous zombies are never a fun thing to run across, in my opinion. The shifters are divided between those that are honorable and those that are creepy fanatics. There are pockets of human survivors doing their best to keep on living in this messed up world. Bad things happen to good people. As it turns out, bad things also happen to bad people. Which is good. Because bad guys are bad.
Dirk and Eva have one of those fast igniting romances that I tend to like. The attraction flares quickly and they're left scrambling to figure out if they can make things work in a world that's been turned inside out. The chemistry between them is downright smokin' and Dirk's whole "MINE" thing made me grin like a fool.
There were a few parts that felt a little muddled - mostly with the world building for the shifters. We were given a lot of information early on that didn't start to make sense until later on in the book. Did this distract from my overall enjoyment? Not really because I was enthralled by the zombies and MASSIVE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION taking place in the world, but I did make note of it.
Bottom line: Very fun, complex world with plenty of bad guys and A LOT of potential for more story lines down the road. I'm totally falling all over myself even without the amnesiac vampire. I think that says something.

I start with an apology. I don't normally read Zombie books or watch Zombie films for that matter. But tried this because of the Werewolf/Witch element. So so glad I did. If every Zombie book was as good I would read more. This grabs you from the start and you are allowed to stop reading once you get to the end.
We met Dr Dora Alder at work on her 27th birthday. She offered to work knowing that all female members of her family have died at 27 so she doesn't expect to live after her birthday. She is then bitten by the Zombie virus and placed in quarantine. She is still alive and turned, as expected, into a Zombie a week later and it transpires that she's immune to the Zombie virus.
When she is sent for further tests she meets Dirk (in a glass cell next to her). Dirk is an Alpha Male Werewolf who strangely has a dog called Fang.
Through telepathey they agree to plan their escape. It seems that escape is the only thing they can agree on, as both have different agendas for when they escape.
Dora finds out why she's not a Zombie and why all female relatives of hers die at 27 (all I am saying - not to spoiler the book).
This is a great book. It's certainly different and there is plenty going on. You won't be bored but don't get lost with too much going on. More please.

Wow great book
I have never been a zombie fan but this was a great book . Werewolves witches and zombies what next? Who would release such a horrible thing on the earth to destroy all humans have zombies walk ? Will it take to get to the zombies ? Can a Wolf pack that is fighting a war against two other packs team up with the witch and get rid of the zombies cure the world ? I guess you have to read to find out

It was quite awhile since I didn't read any werewolf/paranormal plot since I discovered dyspotian/post apocalytic books with or without zombies.
This one was a good surprise : I had my Post-Ap background, a virus released by some evil people turned human in flesh/brain eaters (yeah, got my zombies) and finally a hot "romance" .

I loved, loved, loved this book!!!!!!!!!!!! It definitely has earned a place on my favorite's shelf and I hope we get to read more about Dora and Dirk in the future. Once I started reading I didn't want to stop. The author did really great with this book and it is worth every penny.

Such a fun read! Zombie apocalypse, lots of shifters, witches, and sexy, sweet romance! So entertaining!
There’s zombies on the loose when this story starts, but people aren’t quite taking it seriously enough; they’re about to. Very quickly the zombies begin to overrun the humans. Dora is a doctor that thinks she’s going to die at 27 because for multiple generations the women in her family have. Dora is bitten, but doesn’t turn like the others; she’s in for some surprising news; she’s a witch! She ends up being held against her will by the government. Dirk, a werewolf, also gets captured. These two team up to escape, and find themselves more connected than expected, but their being together is forbidden by the wolf packs. So, Dora and Dirk have a lot they are dealing with.
Dora is great! She uses her brain and kicks some butt. Dirk and Dora have a passionate connection with lots of heart. Loved all the adventures they get into during this zombie apocalypse. The zombies are a major issue, but there’s a lot more going on in this story. All of it fully entertaining! The only things I didn’t care for is how quickly Josh moves on, and I’m not a huge fan of Ravenna; especially after her actions towards Dirk. She happens to be a main part of the next book, so I’m hoping she doesn’t suck quite as bad in that book; I’m just not a fan of characters that are oversexed and don’t have respect for others in a relationship. I’m still looking forward to seeing this story continue though. Love zombie apocalypse romance! So much awesomeness!

Dr. Dora Adler's family has a curse. When they turn 27, they die. It's her 27th birthday & she's counting down the hours until it's her turn. She's an ER doctor, and she is able to diagnose those that have been infected with Z-phage, a zombie virus. While she's trying to help, she's bitten by one of the patients. She's immediately taken to quarantine & comes to find out that she's immune from the Z-phage virus. While she's being studied, another person is brought in. Dirk Gunderson is an Alpha wolf shifter & he is also immune. It helps that the zombies don't have any interest in shifters. They know they have to find a way to escape, but when there's a breach of the compound it comes imperative they get out immediately. Dora finds out that she's not a normal human, she's an Aradia witch. She has a special connection to nature & she's unusual because she can fly. Most witches can't fly until after menopause.
Dora's mission is to reach her brother & niece in California to reunite her family. Dirk's mission is to get her to his pack. Along the way, they have to deal with zombies and Dora being hunted by the Benandanti wolf pack. The first time they are together, Dirk bites her & makes her his mate, but he doesn't tell her. Neither tells how they feel & when it comes out, they have new challenges to face.
I thought this one started a bit slow, but it is action packed & has a few steamy scenes. You stay on the edge of your seat never knowing when a zombie swarm or something bad pops up for our duo. Well-developed characters & world building.

Wow. That was quite the adventure.
I received this book for a blog tour in exchange for an honest review. And that is what I give all the time honestly honest. So thanks to Eva Gordon (the author) and Saskia Book tours

First thoughts: Wow! Okay I will admit this was my first actual zombie book – when I saw actual zombie I am not talking about like Dearly, Departed where some zombies still have their minds and can still feel human emotions. Now I am talking about moaning, groaning, eat your braiiiiinnnnnssss kind of zombies. I have never seen watched The Walking Dead (don’t kill me!) I just don’t all that much TV to begin with. Anyways so I was a little like…zombies? Apocalypse? Then I saw werewolf – and I was like hell yeah I am just slightly obsessed with werewolves…just slightly. ;) anyways so yeah I was a little nervous going in but once I started reading I was like hell yes! This is not only super interesting – it goes through the biology of the idea of zombies which yeah is oddly enough in my group of friends and I am just guessing her now common knowledge, but for those not preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse it tells you about it. And I am getting carried away in first thoughts so here we go: entertaining, education, exciting (I am thinking of e-words), erot…;) I think you can figure out the rest of that one hehehe – just kidding there are only a few sex scenes.
Thoughts on Plot: Wow talk about explosive, it moves and starts you going fast I loved it! I love books that are going to get me into the nitty gritty, and with Apocalyptic books, or dystopias I understand people want to world building before we jump right in, but it’s sort of like we are starting at the beginning stages with Dora – the MC girl, and there is a lot of world building going while we move through the story and I wasn’t lost or confused. The book is filled with a lots of different action it’s not all running from zombies and killing zombies – don’t worry there is that, but there is more as well. There is so much more! Like I said this book was quite the adventure! I enjoyed every moment of it, though near the end I was thinking, what else could possibly happen to these two Dirk – the Male MC – and Dora. They were an interesting couple as well a bit of that hate-love first strike up not like hate, hate but they fought and there was chemistry. Also their relationship in general yeah okay so there was the true mates but that was added afterwards they were already getting along quite well, and learning when to push each other. Wow my god they had a relationship! Hahaha I was being a brat sorry! Anyways back to the plot, fast paced, exciting, interesting and I really don’t think it would bore you.

Dora: Is a Doctor goddammit not a veterinarian. And as much as I appreciate a girl making a good first generation Star Trek Joke – cause I do. That got old after about the 5th time. Sorry but it’s true. It became her go to joke and I did like the humor that Dora tried to bring in to the book and most times it worked sometimes it didn’t. But yeah sometimes one joke just loses its funny after being told so many times – sorry but it’s true. She was an interesting MC she was quite a young doctor and a lot times I had to remind myself she was only 27 years old. Don’t doctors actually become like official doctors around like 25? 26? Hell if I know I am an English major but she was quite talented for being so young. She is very smart and curious. She takes a while to believe the unbelievable but in the world filled with Zombies and hot ginger werewolves you best start being in fairytales. Cause you are living in one….(giggles) anyways I liked her she had a few good moments of freak outs but mostly kept her calm and cool. I didn’t blame her for freaking the fuck out I mean I would probably be the person who dies second in a zombie apocalypse. Anyways I did really like her.
Dirk: Huh…I love gingers. I LOVE werewolves. I LOVE LOVE LOVE alpha males. And yet I wasn’t 100 and 10 percent sold with Dirk. I love the fact that Fang belonged to him that was fantastic. Anyways back to the fact that I am not 100 and 10 % sold on him. I liked him yeah but there were times I don’t know he just rubbed me the wrong way it might have been certain parts I don’t think are allowed for a review. But for the overall part, yeah alpha werewolf ginger male? Hot yes. He was loyal and demanding and overbearing and stupid at times. But man could he handle a machete. At the beginning of the book he is sort of anti-humans not enough to be like I hope you all die, but some of his past that comes to light I think I don’t know not enough weight was pressed on it, or maybe it was how I was reading it I am not sure. Anyways in the end he is definitely not a bad character I thought he was a well-rounded character much like Dora was.
Other Side characters: I liked them they all had these separate personalities and qualities to them that I really liked. The other villains than the zombies – well done, interesting. Um people take this as it is fiction and don’t start and uproar about some of the “villains”. I am not going to say what because I don’t want to defer you from the book cause I thought it was really good.
The ending: I think that this was the end of Dora and Dirk’s story for me, now if they popped up in other people’s stories from this book because I would totally be alright reading other characters’ stories such as Falcon’s, Rave’s, I am sure there is someone else that I am not thinking of at the moment. But yeah. Yay!

First thoughts: Wow! Okay I will admit this was my first actual zombie book – when I saw actual zombie I am not talking about like Dearly, Departed where some zombies still have their minds and can still feel human emotions. Now I am talking about moaning, groaning, eat your braiiiiinnnnnssss kind of zombies. I have never seen watched The Walking Dead (don’t kill me!) I just don’t all that much TV to begin with. Anyways so I was a little like…zombies? Apocalypse? Then I saw werewolf – and I was like hell yeah I am just slightly obsessed with werewolves…just slightly. ;) anyways so yeah I was a little nervous going in but once I started reading I was like hell yes! This is not only super interesting – it goes through the biology of the idea of zombies which yeah is oddly enough in my group of friends and I am just guessing her now common knowledge, but for those not preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse it tells you about it. And I am getting carried away in first thoughts so here we go: entertaining, education, exciting (I am thinking of e-words), erot…;) I think you can figure out the rest of that one hehehe – just kidding there are only a few sex scenes.
Thoughts on Plot: Wow talk about explosive, it moves and starts you going fast I loved it! I love books that are going to get me into the nitty gritty, and with Apocalyptic books, or dystopias I understand people want to world building before we jump right in, but it’s sort of like we are starting at the beginning stages with Dora – the MC girl, and there is a lot of world building going while we move through the story and I wasn’t lost or confused. The book is filled with a lots of different action it’s not all running from zombies and killing zombies – don’t worry there is that, but there is more as well. There is so much more! Like I said this book was quite the adventure! I enjoyed every moment of it, though near the end I was thinking, what else could possibly happen to these two Dirk – the Male MC – and Dora. They were an interesting couple as well a bit of that hate-love first strike up not like hate, hate but they fought and there was chemistry. Also their relationship in general yeah okay so there was the true mates but that was added afterwards they were already getting along quite well, and learning when to push each other. Wow my god they had a relationship! Hahaha I was being a brat sorry! Anyways back to the plot, fast paced, exciting, interesting and I really don’t think it would bore you.

Now normally I don’t do too many casting but I am finding myself doing them more and more I find it quite entertaining actually. So here we go.

Dora: Is a Doctor goddammit not a veterinarian. And as much as I appreciate a girl making a good first generation Star Trek Joke – cause I do. That got old after about the 5th time. Sorry but it’s true. It became her go to joke and I did like the humor that Dora tried to bring in to the book and most times it worked sometimes it didn’t. But yeah sometimes one joke just loses its funny after being told so many times – sorry but it’s true. She was an interesting MC she was quite a young doctor and a lot times I had to remind myself she was only 27 years old. Don’t doctors actually become like official doctors around like 25? 26? Hell if I know I am an English major but she was quite talented for being so young. She is very smart and curious. She takes a while to believe the unbelievable but in the world filled with Zombies and hot ginger werewolves you best start being in fairytales. Cause you are living in one….(giggles) anyways I liked her she had a few good moments of freak outs but mostly kept her calm and cool. I didn’t blame her for freaking the fuck out I mean I would probably be the person who dies second in a zombie apocalypse. Anyways I did really like her.
Dirk: Huh…I love gingers. I LOVE werewolves. I LOVE LOVE LOVE alpha males. And yet I wasn’t 100 and 10 percent sold with Dirk. I love the fact that Fang belonged to him that was fantastic. Anyways back to the fact that I am not 100 and 10 % sold on him. I liked him yeah but there were times I don’t know he just rubbed me the wrong way it might have been certain parts I don’t think are allowed for a review. But for the overall part, yeah alpha werewolf ginger male? Hot yes. He was loyal and demanding and overbearing and stupid at times. But man could he handle a machete. At the beginning of the book he is sort of anti-humans not enough to be like I hope you all die, but some of his past that comes to light I think I don’t know not enough weight was pressed on it, or maybe it was how I was reading it I am not sure. Anyways in the end he is definitely not a bad character I thought he was a well-rounded character much like Dora was.
Other Side characters: I liked them they all had these separate personalities and qualities to them that I really liked. The other villains than the zombies – well done, interesting. I'm not usually a fan of Zombie books but I loved this one. A virus has been released on earth changing humans into Zombies fast. Witches and shifters have some immunity to it but are still being attacked. Enter our main characters! Dora is a special ER doctor who can sense early detection of the Z-phage zombie virus. Unfortunately, Dora is bitten on her 27th birthday while on duty at the ER. Dirk is an alpha wolf on a mission to hunt and kill the werewolf hunters. Especially Jaeger the hunter who killed off most of his family. Both prove to be immune to the virus and end up at Lab Zero to be used as guinea pigs to make a vaccine. Working together they escape the lab and start on a journey of discovery while searching for her family and his pack. This book is has it all shifters, witches, hunters, and zombies.

What a awesome book! I started reading it and couldn't stop until the end. Dora being the name of the doctor was fun. With her being born on the thirteenth, and the past few generation of women dying on their 27th birthday, gave it a teaser. With an epidemic causing people to turn into zombies, made things rough. She worked when she had the day off and got bitten by a zombie and thought that was the end. She doesn't turn, so is shipped to an underground lab to find out why. She is poked and bitten multiple times by zombies in experiments and doesn't change. They can't make a cure, so they decide to make her Eve. But they need an Adam and a werewolf shifter is caught and sold to them. Then all the excitement starts to happen.

Well written fast paced story full of danger, courage and love
This is my first book by this author and I have to say I made an awesome choice! I enjoy how the trials of an apocalyptic world bring out the best, and worst, of people. Remove boundaries. This story is no different. Zombies, werewolves, witches, secret labs and maybe....aliens? Well, they all combine together to make an exciting backdrop for a wonderful romance between Dora and Dirk, and showcase the importance of family - and the sacrifices we're willing to make to keep them safe. The world building was so clear, any time I took a break from reading, I felt like I'd paused a movie and couldn't wait to get back to it! I feel there is a lot more story, yet, for all these fascinating characters and I look forward to seeing how things will unfold for them as they move forward in their new world. Good fun!

Werewolves and witches and zombies, oh my!
I don't usually read post-apocalyptic stories, but like werewolves and witches, so I thought, why not? I'm glad I did.
Dora was an engaging character and it was easy to fall into the story and share her experiences as she discovers werewolves are real, and that she's a witch. Her learning curve was believable and made her relatable, which is a hallmark of a good book. The relationship with Dirk was hot (who wouldn't love a strong, protective alpha, right?). Loved that it wasn't all smooth sailing for them, and the smart --- comments sprinkled throughout made me laugh.
The zombies, well, still not my thing, but the story was good enough that I'm definitely going to look for the next book in the series.

It’s the zombie apocalypse and DR Dora gets bitten while attending to a patient but she doesn’t turn so she’s taken to a secret underground lab where Dora is experimented on tested and constantly bitten by zombies but she still doesn’t turn into the undead. Dirk is a wolf shifter he was captured collared and sold to the underground lab for testing because shifters are immune to the zombie virus, he plans to break out and take the gorgeous Dora with him. Dora’s eyes are opened in the lab and she finds out the reason why the females in her family die on their 27th birthday. I loved this story and I can’t wait to read book 2 and I definitely recommend this book.

An amazing story. It is a mix of dystopian, zombie, shifters and witches. Dora and Dirk are the two main characters. The story starts with a zombie plague. No one knows how it started but it started everywhere at the same time. The human race is easily infected and within days an infected will turn into a zombie. Dora is a doctor and will soon find herself bitten. Dirk is a wolf shifter. Shifters are immune to the disease. But soon the world of zombies and the world of paranormal crash together. The story will have an extreme amount of zombie fighting. Lots of action, danger, betrayal and even time for some romance.

Ok, so I loved this book but coming from this author I expected nothing less! You have a hot Alpha werewolf paired with a sassy stubborn witch cooking up lots of steam add in some zombies and a need to escape a mad scientist and BOOM Eva turns that all into a page-turning, can't wait till the next in the series book! Read it. I loved it, I am sure you will too!

Rivoting !!!!
I liked this book. It had lots of action in it.It's not the typical type of romance novel, which 'I thought was really pretty cool.I'd recommend reading this & re=reading it also.I'm planning on reading more by this author.

Fast paced action, an interesting concept, good plot. Some of the time spent on the he two main characters physical attraction could have gone into developing characters who end up being pretty two deminsional, but still not bad.

Apocalyptic Moon by Eva Gordon is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series that I have fallen in love with and can not wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy, romantic suspense, paranormal romance.
