Insurgents MC #1

Hawk's Property

Rate this book
From the first time Hawk saw her, he knew he wanted to do dirty things to her in his bed.

Hawk, the muscled, tatted, badass Vice President of the Insurgents Motorcycle Club, sees women as bed warmers, nothing more. He never stays with the same woman, and although there are plenty of women who want to be his old lady, he wants none of that.

He doesn't date.
He doesn't let chicks ride on the back of his bike.
He doesn't fall in love.

And that suits him just fine until he meets her whose eyes light a fire in him. Problem is she's not so easy to get into his bed. Hawk wants her. And when Hawk wants something he takes it.

Cara Minelli doesn't want to go to the biker bar, but her friend talks her into it. Swearing off men since she caught her fiancé cheating on her right before her wedding, she has buried herself in her career not wanting a man in her life. Until she sees him. He is sexy, rough, crude, and oh so very wrong for her. So why can't she stop thinking of all the nasty things he'll do to her if she relents and lets him in her bed?

Then a vicious killer who has been strangling women in the area focuses on Cara. Police think bikers are involved. Can Cara set aside her trust issues and let Hawk into her life?

Hawk sees it as his job to protect what is his...and Cara is very much his even if she doesn't know it yet. Cara keeps her heart guarded, but when danger comes calling, their lives collide. Hawk will stop at nothing to keep Cara safe and make her “Property of Hawk”.

The Insurgents MC series are standalone romance novels. Hawk’s Property is Book One in the series. This book contains violence, strong language, and steamy sexual scenes. HEA. No cliffhangers. The book is intended for readers over the age of 18.

Chiah Wilder writes about rough, sexy men who know how to treat their women.

Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner.

Her love of reading has always been center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her books. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, romances with tough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons.

If you want to know what a kickass biker is all about, well then Hawk is the epitome of rough, tough and sexy. The man had me drooling from our first meeting. So cocky and arrogant, fierce and intense. And when Hawk wants something, there isn't anything that will get in his way.

When Hawk and Cara meet at a biker bar, she's quickly drawn to him. His piercing blue eyes, those gorgeous lips, and all that tatted hotness. The man wetted her panties on sight. Kicking off all of her wildest fantasies and darkest desires that she has always kept at bay. But Cara being who she is, always throwing caution to the wind, being the good girl. Shrugged off their first meeting as nothing more than lust. Especially after swearing off men, when she caught her fiance cheating.

Cara Minelli is the product of a well to do family and up-bringing. She worked her ass off, to become independent and open her own law firm. Choosing to become a criminal lawyer rather than join her father's law firm as a corporate lawyer.

When Cara and Hawk meet a second time, it's because Hawk needs her representation as his lawyer. And boom!!! this is where all the heat starts up. And I mean some serious heat ladies.

Hawk and Cara started dancing around each other. Hawk being insistent that he wanted Cara, sexually, of course. Cara being perturbed by this hulk of a man, that she sees as trouble. Not wanting to go down that road again, Cara has encased her heart in stone.

Surrounding all this sexual tension, exhausting conversations and whiplash that Cara kept giving me. Their lurks a serial killer, that is brutally attacking young women and mutilating their bodies for pleasure, in order to feed his sadistic desires.

Somewhere in the mix, a rival MC is simultaneously working alongside the serial killer. Each feeding the others hellish desires as opportunities arise. Both evils are running rampant within the town and causing trouble for Cara, Hawk and the Insurgents MC. When the rival MC sets their sites on Cara, Hawk becomes the devil they all wished was never unleashed.

As Cara infiltrates Hawk's heart, he keeps reminding himself of his motto. However, Hawk is finding it difficult as each day passes by, to believe that Cara is only a quick side dish.

He doesn't date.
He doesn't let chicks ride on the back of his bike.
He doesn't fall in love.

Hawk can't get enough of Cara and when she finally relents after all her running and their hurtful words, their union is an explosion of pent up lust and desire. Passion and unyielding love. They come from separate worlds, and they made it work. Traversing all their obstacles, mostly the superficial ones. Opening their hearts and minds.

I loved this book so much. Hawk was superbly portrayed with his hard ass exterior -attitude and physique. Cara gave me some serious whiplash and I couldn't handle her hot and cold attitude at times. The story came together wonderfully, the suspenseful plot kept me on my toes, and Hawk kept me in his bed. lol.

I am waiting for a book on Banger, the MC president. Gosh, I feel that one will tear me down

This book did not work for me at all. Hawk was an over
sexed pig. All he thought and talked about was sex
and sexual acts. I also did not believe him as a
character. I don't understand why authors think
that readers enjoy sex acts of our H with other women.
I don't.

First and last book I will be reading by this author.

Not bad.

IMO, it's a pretty good MC series. Nothing special, but pretty good. What I liked was the writing style, it made me curious and made me want to read more (this doesn't happen too often, so I appreciate it whenever I get the chance).

It's your typical, run of the mill romance. Alpha male, decent female, pretty interesting and fast-paced. Most of the times it's the best you can expect out of an MC romance story.
Worth reading if you like this type of novels.

VP of the Insurgents MC, Hawk is a man who likes women, his bike, and his club. When he sees Cara Minelli at a biker bar, he is intrigued with her. Cara is completely out of place with her graceful demeanor. Hawk makes a move when Cara has trouble with a couple of bikers, she flees though and Hawk is furious.

When Hawk sees the lady who will be representing his club for the time being, he sees Cara. He is pissed and makes a move to let her know he is the one who walks away not her. Despite their tenuous relationship, Hawk is consumed by thoughts of Cara. He is not a committing man but he sure is considering it with Cara. However Cara has gotten herself noticed by an outlaw club who sees her as a threat. Hawk keeps her close and they begin to grow as a couple, but everything is about to be torn apart if Hawk doesn't keep her safe.

Initially I was not sure about this one. Hawk was so commanding and pushy with Cara. However it settled down a bit and she gives in to Hawk. Had a bit of angst but overall a good story. Will check out more in this series was a bit darker and Hawk was a crude man.

Hawk is one of the most badass bikers I've ever read. I swear this man rocked my world. Dirty talker, handsome and an MC VP.
Carla is a good girl and a good lawyer. She does not hesitate to help anyone who asks for her help. When she meets Hawk she immediately knows that he is trouble. He is forward and he doesn't hesitate to hit on her. She is not fond of his behavior but she cannot deny her attraction either.
Their relationship is hot and cold, both of them not willing to accept their feelings for each other. But can they stay apart for long?
The book had solid character development and I loved it. The twists and turns were exciting and the chemistry between Hawk and Carla sizzling. The secondary characters were fascinating and the serial killer that haunted the pages added a daunting element to the story.
If you love MC reads, don't miss this one.

First book for me by this author and I like her writing style. I really like the fact that actual sex doesn't occur until almost half way through the book and especially liked the hot sexual tension the author delivered between the main characters before that occurred. It's nice to read a story where the sex doesn't occur in the first chapter and one that the author slowly builds the tension between a really crass dirty talking bad boy and the h. I like the fact that there's a mystery surrounding a serial killer (even if I did figure out who the villain was) and that the h is not a weak woman familiar with the clubs. Strong, engaging characters and after reading the sample of book 2 at the end of this book, I’m definitely looking forward to the next one in this series. This author shows great promise in delivering solid stories with strong characters and quality writing/editing.

Hawk's Property is the first book I've read by Chiah Wilder. It's also the first book in the Insurgents MC series.

I loved the premise of the story, but I had a hard time getting into it. Overall, it seemed disjointed to me.

Hawk Benally was the VP of the Insurgents MC. He was gorgeous and crude. Cara Minelli was the beautiful attorney that just opened her new practice as a defense attorney. She was from a wealthy local family where her father was a founding member of a prestigious law firm. The two paths crossed and created tension from day one.

I love MC's but I just didn't get Hawk. The MC crudeness doesn't normally bother me but Hawk was more harassment than sexy. However, as the book progressed, Hawk grew on me and I liked Hawk way more than I liked Cara. Every time Hawk tried for the start of a relationship with Cara, she shut him down and then was offended with him, when in reality it was her behavior that was offensive. Cara definitely acted like she was better than Hawk and nothing about her made sense to me.

The story was told in dual POV; however, Wilder provided guest POV's throughout the storyline from key players. It was written more as a dialogue to get the full backstory of the person and how they fit with the story.

One of my favorite things about reading an MC book is the suspenseful, action-packed storyline. Although the storyline was somewhat predictable, it did carry the mystery and crime filled theme, which was enjoyable.

All in all, the suspenseful story carried the book for me. I felt the characters had promise but just didn't gel. Hopefully as the series progresses, the characters, both primary and supporting, will fully develop. Next up is my favorite character so far, Jax, in Jax's Dilemma.

Personally, I felt like this was more of a sex book with little story line- which was really good until sex over took it. I swear, almost every other page was about that.

The only things on Hawks mind were sex, drinking, more sex and finding ways to be a major Ahole. He was very immature for a 35 year old. He was a super filthy talker and always inappropriate in public with his words. He had some anger management issues too.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Hawk yanked her toward him. Cara had given him a major hard-on, and he had to fuck some pussy real bad. “What’s your name again?”

Other women already, really? I'm outta here. It wasn't even good before this happened. Every woman is nothing but a hole to fill. Ughh.

Hawk's Property (Insurgents MC #1)

This is the first book I have read that is written by Chiah Wilder, the story was well written full of steamy, hot romance and some mystery/suspense added it to the story to make it very enjoyable. I am big fan of MC series books and Hawks Property did not disappoint.

I enjoyed it and I am looking for forward to reading the next book in this series.

Exhibit A behind being an MC addict.. TOO. BLOODY. GOOD

When I hear or see the words MC on any book cover, synopsis or review, I drop EVERYTHING and grab it as fast as I can.. There simply is no mental restrain when it comes to those type of books.

More often than not though, those type of books tend to evolve around the same/similar cliche factor of a dirty talking biker, claiming an innocent yet feisty girl as his even though she doesn't know it yet.. Then we get that typical "church attendance" followed by some sort of brawl or trouble between a different MC group.. That's just an example of what I have witness. And there is nothing wrong with those plot line, IF it wasn't predictable, boring or no where near being addictive.

NOW.

With HAWK'S PROPERTY? Jesus bloody hell!! We not only get an amazing story, but soulful characters, heartfelt development and a writing style that can only ever be considered a gift.

BLOODY. LOVED. THIS. BOOK.

HAWK'S PROPERTY is the exact reason I am a complete MC addict. Those tattooed, sexy, filthy mouthed and all things alpha men? There is no question, that right there is my true weakness. Hawk's Property is a clear example.

This was also one of those books that I couldn't stop thinking about even though I had a pile of other ARCs to get through. Nope. It just wasn't happening. Hawk and Cara's story stuck with me and even now, just thinking about Book 2, I think I might go even more insane just thinking about the wait!!

SEXY AS HELL.

ADDICTIVE ON ANOTHER LEVEL.

DARK.

RAW.

EMOTIONAL.

FASCINATING.

STEAMY.

ATTITUDE.

SINFUL.

Chaih Wilder's writing is simply perfect. She captured the MC world so well, it always felt like I was hovering above the MC grounds of either of their property.. Where ever the author was taking us or no matter what mindset we were in, it was as easy to follow and fall in love as it is to breathe. Simple. I admire authors that can create such astounding stories that are a long way from being simple, lighthearted and easy, turning it into something that touches every inch of your soul, mind and heart. Not to be sugarcoating anything, but being a writer myself I can only ever wish to have this type of impact as she did with Hawk's Property.

Hawk is the VP of the Insurgents Motorcycle Club who among other things, does not do double dipping when it comes to women.. or at least he doesn't do the whole relationship/ dating thing. With his sexy as sin attitude not to mention good looks, those tattoos just call trouble and that filthy mouth of his that craves the inner monster in me to just... go insane?! I think any girl in their right mind *cough* as sane as you can be around a guy like Hawk, would DROOL at the thought of being his. HIS PROPERTY. Jesus. Oh dear Lord, help me for I have sinned.. Pointing a finger at Hawk will surely result in anything but saving grace..

OK.

Getting my head out of the damn gutter, let's get back to it. More Hawk talk right?? *evil grin*

Then we have Cara, a girl who knows has a true belief behind swearing off men for the no good that her cheating ex brought upon her. In all honestly, I think cheating on someone that might have the "love" element involved, is one of the fastest and saddest ways to break someones heart and mindset that instantly clouds if not erases the possibility of TRUST coming back.. It's just not possible to get back at full force BUT, now you get to see how Hawk truly see an enviable creature. He does something to Cara's emotional stability and feelings that make her rethink all the damn mistakes her ex inflicted upon her heart.

Hawk put a new meaning to VIBES SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS..

From the moment that they meet, they have that sexy as hell but fun to read banter between them. ANGER + INTENSE VIBES can only end with one emotion on their minds..

I absolutely loved the way Hawk was introduced into Cara's life. It wasn't forceful but being an MC and the alpha that he is, it was one hell of a panty melting moment. I literally COULD NOT GET ENOUGH of Hawk's personality. And I won't admit that I might have drooled once or "twice" when it came to the way he always reminded her that she was HIS and LAID CLAIM on her whenever he thought it was needed.

Can you not blame me for being a sucker when it comes to all things alpha, sexiness, tattooed and tall men? Yeah. I have no regrets, but my sanity might :/ How the hell am I supposed to NOT compare the guys I date after reading a fictional character no less, like Hawk? Don't get me wrong, I don't do the judgmental thing, but those vibes when you know you haven't met the right guy yet are just too damn strong..

Both Cara and Hawk go on a journey that is a mix of many counter balanced aspects.

They want to be together but there are often things that get in their way.

He wants/NEEDS to keep her safe at all times, every second, but it's proving to be harder with a murderer running lose AND aiming for Cara.

She is his, HAWK's PROPERTY and he know it. Cara thinks he knows it too but her heart isn't fully mended yet, it isn't as ready as she might have thought it should be..

Regardless, Hawk is still in her life and he WILL keep it that way no matter what. But. The great big BUT comes along when they both realize what could be in danger.

HAWK'S PROPERTY is a very fast faced, book that balances out every element in making it too sexy for you not to have a glass of wine or boyfriend next to you.. It's easy to follow and keep your mind 100% into it, thanks to the breathtakingly good writing, but at the same time it's very fascinating, especially how the story progresses.. The development between the two of them has been one of my favorite parts, and that's hard to admit considering how much I love the entire book.

Hawk and Cara both have a past that still haunts them, both mentally and physically. A past that affects many of their current decisions, choices and POV. But a past is a past, what works out so well, is how they each handled it when it came the growth of their relationship.. It was both sexy and intense from the strong chemistry that often started with arguments and anger, and that was balanced out by the soulful, heartbreaking and very sweet moments we often see between them.

I could literally go on for hours with the love I have for this book, but I'll leave you guys to find out for yourself.. (and truth be told, I'm just eager to to do another re-read even though I finished it not mere couple hours ago.. no regrets..)

THANK YOU so much to the author, Chiah Wilder in providing an ARC of a book that I now how dear to my all things MC-And-alpha-tattooed-men heart, and let's be honest, that's probably a good 90% ;)

I CANNOT bloody keep still waiting for Book 2, which can only mean finding another MC book to pass the time with. Until then, make sure you let me know your thoughts one you get your fill of Hawk - Sighhhh - and the world that evolves around him and Cara!

Solid 3 stars = 'I Liked It'

I bought Book 5 'Banger's Ride', and this was a bonus book with it. I had also previously read Chas' book and gave it a good amount of stars, so I thought I would give Book 5 a shot, since I want tovsee what happens with Banger.

I probably wouldn't have bought this one from the book description, but it was better than I expected. There was much more to Hawk than the blurb leads you to believe.

There's a story here with lots of MC action, a lot of which is set off by busybody, TSTL Cara. Maybe I'm a sociopath, but her guilt trips were over the top, imho. Still, the book kept me interested, so good job.

While I liked the book the h gave me a headache at times. She had a few TSTL moments for someone who should have been smarter. Criminal defense attorneys are a little more street savy then the h came across. Also, IMO, it took too long for the H/h to get together (but to be fair I do tend to favor instant love books). But once they got together the chemistry was great. Maybe that's why I wanted more couple interaction with them. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I enjoyed it enough as a quick read but for me it lacked depth and emotion. I am a huge fan of MC books but this one didn't quiet hit the spot for me, I felt at times it was rushed, the main characters didn't really have much of an emotional connection(not including the times they had sex) until the end and the whole serial killer story line didn't fit the book. But as a quick read it was ok.

This was difficult to read. The way the members of the motorcycle club referred to woman was deplorable. There were disturbing things in some of the scenes . And the story dragged. The back and forth between the two MCs was ridiculous. This was not my cup of tea.

Sooooo... this one was quite vulgar for me. Too much cussing, I know it's an MC book but at some point it becomes tiresome to have profanities every second word.... The story itself was quite nice, slow-passed, with a nice dose of violence, torture, gore and steam, if the vocabulary was better I would have enjoyed it more.

WARNING: This story contains triggers .

**JOSIE'S REVIEW**

I am a MC book whore, what can I say, so naturally I just had to get my hands on this book. The synopsis had me sold at “he wanted to dirty things to her in his bed”, yep sold! The author really did an amazing job with this MC book. We get a bad ass biker, a feisty, classy heroine, an MC and a serial killer. Seriously… A SERIAL KILLER WITH A SICK FETISH! These characters come from two totally different worlds, but once their two worlds collide – get yourself a change of panties, some wine and popcorn because it is one heck of a ride. Every single page in this book was thrilling, suspenseful, and emotional with lots and lots of dirty, hot biker sex. Hawks Property is the first book in this series, and I can guarantee it will not be the last I read.

Hawk is your typical VP biker. He loves women but he does not date, fall in love or let a chick onto his bike. Hawk is about to get knocked off his high horse, because once he sees Cara in the biker bar, he wants her. It should be easy for Hawk right? He has women willing drop to their knees for him, wrong, because Cara is not like any woman he has ever met.

Cara’s character one would say is hardened. I mean you would be too if you caught your fiancé before you are to be married with another woman. Cara has not been the same, but all that changes the night her friend convinces her to go to a biker bar, and she sees the sexy hot beast, Hawk. Cara does not appreciate Hawks vulgar mouth and decides to keep him at arm’s length, even though her body is screaming JUMP HIS BONES!

These two characters have an intense chemistry and their banter was fun and natural. Cara and Hawk are so much alike that they are both stubborn. Neither is willing to back down. Hawk always gets what he wants, and he wants Cara. The more she pushes the more he pulls. Cara and Hawk do not want to admit the truth about how they each feel, but they can’t stay away. When the town’s serial killer sets his eyes on Cara, Hawk is faced with the fact that she is his woman and he will do anything to protect what is his. Cara has to set her distrust aside and let Hawk and the MC into her life to keep her safe, but that also means letting him into her heart as well.

There were so many twists and turns in this book. Just when I thought I had things figured out the author twisted things up. The overall plot and story line was really well developed and held my interest from start to finish. Can Hawk keep his Property “Cara” safe? Just how far will Hawk go to protect what is his? You really need to click this read, it is worth the ride you will take.
