Trashy? Right You Are

description

"Trashy" is a very appropriate name for this book. If crude and brash offends, you should stop reading now and move along to greener fields.

description

As a south Mississippi girl on the edge of Louisiana, I'm all about a book that aptly captures the unique personalities that often accompany people in rural southern Louisiana.

description

They're a hoot and you can never predict the crazy, off-the-wall, eye-popping shit that spills out of their mouths. Trashy? Yeah, quite often, but you have to admit this is kinda funny, even if the punctuation is all f'd up:

She moves one leg to the side and points to her still glistening pussy. "Buck, honey, I figured something out after you ran off to California and left me behind. As long as I've got one of these, I can have as many of those," She nods to my erection. "As I want." She lifts an eyebrow as she snatches the curtain closed. Well, I'll be- fucked. Or not.

Trashy doesn't bother me a bit. That said...

description

There's nothing to go gaga over about the characters; he's not the guy you drool over, but isn't the kind you want to nutpunch, & she's not the chick you'd want to high-five nor slap. They're both just okay.

Just Okay Is The Theme

The author lacks technical skills, grammatical skills. It's okay - I've read worse, better, & much better.

The romantic plot is okay. It's all fairly straightforward, and is basically a lot of angst until ... It's not.

Her:

description

description

description

description

BUT...

description

Him:

description

description

description

Moving on...

Climax, resolve, HEA, etc... Again, all just okay verging on boring.

The details, however, I can't even say are okay.

The Details

description

The overall may be okay, but the details read like getting caught in mousetrap glue.

I didn't get how it can be said a million times that he left so she could go to college and she still continues to act like she's clueless as to why he'd leave. Come on? The story is stuck in this glue until it's said for the hundredth time and she "gets it" suddenly for a HEA.

description

I didn't get why he'd be so in love and missing her but not contact her when he realizes she didn't go to college or anytime in the last FIVE YEARS?

description

I didn't get how her mama was a prostitute & all the effort spend by both MCs for her not to become like her mama, but then for both of them to be okay with him paying her for sex so she doesn't have to be a stripper. Like WTF, seriously?!?

Pointless reading-~ What exactly was the point of the marine friends coming in and suing him. What exact did that add to the story other than about 20 minutes of pointless extra reading time? Same with the past pregnancy. Like wtf bother to TELL me it happened and then have the characters shrug like..'oh well?!' Glue trap I tell ya, glue trap!

description

Js~

Sex

Sex, sex, sex, sex, and more sex. Most of the interactions between the MCs are sex or reminiscing. After the first few, I started skimming and skipping.

Half A Book?

I was ready to get this one over, no doubt! But FYI to readers buying: this book is half the advertised pages, with the rest being a different freebie book. What's up with this trend?

Anyhow...

Wow! Where to start? Buck and Lou are childhood friends and more than that Buck had always been Lou's savior. From the mean kids at school and from her family.
Buck was Lou's only friend and as they grew up together and they matured from children to teens, that friendship evolved but it seemed one-sided.

Fast-forward a few years and by chance they are both back at the place where it all started. Can they pick-up where they left it? Can they get over the past hurts and is it still a one-sided relationship? Is there a relationship at all? Anything to save, to go back to or start again?

This story pans out on present day with flashbacks to the past. Those flashbacks really enrich the story as it gives the characters more depth and allows the reader to have a better understanding of Lou and Buck and the hows of their choices.

This is a very explicit read with lots and lots of steamy scenes. The support characters are interesting, especially Aunt Delores. She is that wacky aunt that makes family dinners more fun.

I recommend this book to 18+ readers who do not mind graphic content and enjoy stories with a bit of grit and roots to it.

Awesome read!! Lou was such a red neck, sassy mouth girl that absolutely was hilarious to read. She totally put Buck in his place more than once with that mouth and it was great! Buck, well he most certainly made the wrong decision all those years ago to not ask Lou what she wanted. And he got some serious sass before they get to their HEA. Loved their bantering throughout the book. You will not want to put this down once you start!

This book was so not what I was expecting. I felt like the author threw in everything and the kitchen sink to make this into a more exciting story but it ended up being over the top. The writing is far from solid, there are grammatical mistakes.
The book read a bit like a fanfiction story.

The book is filled with cliches and unnecessary drama.

****Big Spoilers ahead****

description

1. The main female character Lou was in the marines, so the author makes her a sassy tough talking potty mouth heroine. It annoyed the hell out of me.

2. Up and coming Hollywood star Buck has a stalker ex-bed partner and she's faking a pregnancy, of course. This stalker Arianne is so totally clueless to how Buck feels about her, he tells her to leave his house in Hollywood but she comes out to his hometown and starts forcing herself into his life, into his shower, into his bed.
She finds out about the contract between Buck and Lou, the contract where's he's paying her for sex to stop her working as a stripper (you would think Buck would do a better job of hiding that). Of course this silly little girl lets the media know.

Arianne is the cliched pretty dump blonde. She knows that Buck is really in love with her, he just doesn't know it himself.

description

3. Buck is a bad boy and the only way the author can show that is to make him a manwhore and for him to return to his hometown to face off against his old School enemy, who owns a strip club where Lou tries to get a job. He has two big bodyguards called 'thug one' and 'thug two' but he still gets into fights with people.

Are there no other jobs in this town, a stripper really. No of course not, Lou has to follow her mama into selling her body to entertain and please men.

4. The sex scenes were over the top and graphic, one scene went on for several pages with Buck giving Lou oral sex. Buck seemed to be obsessed with giving Lou oral sex and trying anal play with her. I started skipping these pages. The dirty talk had me rolling my eyes too.

description

5. The flashbacks to their childhood and all the experiences they shared started to get real corny.

description

6. The filming of a reality show was a good idea but a young up and coming Hollywood actor probably wouldn't want people to see that much chaos and drama in his personal life, it would probably get him black balled with some producers and directors.

6.1 Sometimes Buck seemed to sound a little hood. Add in some fisticuffs (despite having two bodyguards) and I forgot he was a blue eyed Hollywood hunk

description

7. I did not understand adding in Lou's marine friends and them trying to sue Buck, it was more drama to fill pages.

8. I also did not undertand adding in Lou's past pregnancy, it added nothing to the story. Then there was the fact that Buck and Lou were married for a few months. Why add this nonsense?
I get it, the main characters are so connected, in love, best friends, soul mates, there was no need to find everyway possible to make that clear.

9. There was the auntie who seems cool and has a bit of a runaway mouth. She talks about Buck and his cock so casually. She is so casual about finding Lou and Buck about to have sex in the hallway in her house, she gets a glimpse of Bucks hard cock. It's just a normal day in this household

description

10. There is the over sappy epilogue with the two of them having twin babies.

Lou and Buck grew up together-she fell in love with him, saw them as going to be together forever. They were bestest friends --Lou came from a broken home , one where she wasn’t loved and was abused. When she got older, she thought Buck was her HEA but he took off and left her behind. What heart she had left broke. So Lou went into the Marines and enlisted while Buck ran off to Hollywood. Lou ends up getting out of the Marines and goes back to her hometown where her Aunt is( the aunt will have you needing Depends). Her aunts health isn’t good and Lou is at a crossroads in her life—about this time Buck has come back to his hometown as well, doing a new TV celebrity Homecoming show. Well, Lou feels like payback time and Buck is about to feel some pain. On top of that, somebody has stalker issues which adds to the drama element. Lou and Buck are two star crossed lovers who belong together. They belonged together years ago but they were ready but they are now. Lou is one sassy, intelligent lady who deep down still harbors some feelings of abandonment while hot, hunky Buck is sure one cocky man when it comes to Lou but when it comes to Hollywood, he is trying to get himself back to where he was. We get to see all sides to our MC and their fights at first to stay away then their fights to be together. I loved the author’s fresh viewpoint and her great flow/pacing in this story. I cannot wait for book 3 to come out.

My rating: 4.6 stars ****

First off, can I say I loved this book, probably more than I did SO.BAD., by the same author Kelley Harvey! ! Buck and Lou are two of the most lovable, honest, hardworking characters that I have had the privilege to read. Lou just got out of the Marines and is looking for a way to make money to help her aunt( whose a whoot in her own self) make much needed house repairs. Buck is back from trying to make it big in Hollywood, and just about succeeding until he runs smack dab into Loula Mae's hijinks and ends up having to beg her to be in his Celebrity Homecoming reality series , which she very reluctantly agrees to, in spite of her best intentions of staying away from Buck.Hilarity and Sexual situations arise from their bid to stay away from each other, while in reality, it just brings them closer together. Add in a fight with Lou's drunken Marine buddies, and a female stalker who refuses to take no for an answer and you have SO.TRASHY in a nutshell !! I cannot recommend this book more highly, a definite 5 star read with lots of sexcapades to entertain you !!

Firstly thank you so much Kelley Harvey for sending this arc to me for my honest review. This book has literally had me gripped from start to finish, my emotions have had me choked up for what Lou had to endure as a child and how Buck was always there to help, rescue and reassure her and mostly keep her safe from it all. This is all about second chance at love but with such a different take it will leave you speechless in so many great ways, I wish I could give this more than 5 star rating. I will highly recommend this book and author as they are a definite must read.

This was without a doubt one of these trashy love stories I have had the pleasure of reading. From the beginning to the end there is never a dull moment. I couldn't put it down, took me 7 hours to finish. I would recommend it to anyone that wants a good time read So Trashy. Kelley Harvey is one of a kind author I would say the best. Please keep up the good writing. Thanks so much for the opportunity to read your work.

I really loved this book. Lou is such a hard arse and Buck did not seem to have a clue what he had done for most of the book. it was full of sas and spunk and bad attitude. Throw in a nutso stalker, and you have a fabolous story. Thankfully they get it together in the end. Lou and Buck deserve their HEA, and the author certainly gave them that. A truly fantastic book that I enjoyed immensely. Looking foward to the next book.

4.5*

So. Trashy was a fast paced, quick hot read! It's a second chance romance between a up-and-coming actor Buck and a former Marine Lou. Kelley Harvey has some amazing characters on her hands, my favorite being Lou's Aunt Delores!

So. Trashy is a complete standalone that you have to read for yourself!

3..5 to 4.0 stars.

Not your typical sweet, love story with a demure h. If that’s what you’re looking for you’ll be highly disappointed. If you’re looking for a H trying to make amends (and not always doing it well) and a h doing her own thing regardless of what anybody thinks then So Trashy is for you.

Cheating:
HEA:
Standalone: Yes

I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I started reading. It is NOT a sequel to Bad Boy Next Door Book 1.

There's not a lot of build up to this story and it starts quickly and continues this pace for most of the story. The H and h have a childhood history and Lou, the h’s story isn’t a pretty one. At least she had Buck, the H. I enjoyed reading their backstory and would not have minded more especially the part where they left each other. That seemed to be glossed over although it had a huge impact on both lives.

Buck, H, not my favorite H ever but once he realized he really screwed up with Lou, he was all in to fix it. A little more depth to his character would not have been amiss. He's a Hollywood star, you don't get there without drive, determination, how about some of that detail from his personality?

Lou, h, was definitely not a debutante in any shape or form. In real life Lou and I probably wouldn’t be drinking or shopping buddies but I admired her tenacity and refusal to give up. Again I think the author made the character a little too one dimensional. A little softness in her wouldn’t have hurt. As a reader I always felt on the defensive with her because she was always defensive and had her walls up.

Overall, this was a quick, easy read perfect for the beach or a cool fall afternoon read. I’ll definitely read other books by this author.

Kelley Harvey has done it again!! I absolutely love So.Trashy. Buck and Lou have not seen each other in five years, since he left for Hollywood and she was supposed to go to college on a scholarship. Lou didn't attend college, but joined the Marines instead. When Lou returns to Louisiana to help her Aunt Delores, he returns to film a reality show called Celebrity Homecoming. Lou is a sassy former Marine that doesn't take anything off of anyone. Buck is a supporting actor waiting for his first starring role. Sparks fly whenever they see each other and Buck doesn't have a clue why. He will learn though. This is an amazing story about old loves finally reuniting, but it's not without its hiccups!! Buck has a crazy ex thrown into the mix. You will absolutely despise Arianne McDowell and cheer when she gets what she deserves. You will love Aunt Delores Dubois and what comes out of her mouth. She's not really Lou's aunt, but she took care of her as if she was. FAMILY isn't always blood!! I recommend this HOT, STEAMY read to everyone!! You will absolutely love it!! I can't wait to read more of Kelley's books.

Four flaming stars.
Absolutely enjoyed this read. this was my first time ever reading a book by Kelly Harvey book. Will be purchasing the first book in this series. I love Lou she has a mouth on her and her personalty was of a woman who is badass. She has not led a good life but, when she had an opportunity she went an ran with it.

Buck forms a special part of Lou's past. He was her best friend, but also her neighbor. He is also the boy her left her and broke her heart in the process. Buck is back now that he made it in the big bad city that is LA. He is back in town for a new tv show he is shooting. The kicker is thatch wants Lou back more then ever. Yes, deep down she still loves him and never stopped. She won't let him find out about that anytime soon first she wants him to feel what she felt and get her payback.

These two human beings belong together. even though faith stepped in and split them apart. Faith is now putting the together to cross paths with each other. It will damn well put them back together as they belong.

I was gifted this ARC for an honest review..

I loved this book, I love a sassy chick (former marine too) with a soft insecure side. Her love of her life is her former childhood sweat heart turned Mr Hollywood wanna be. I love the character building and the glimpses into their younger lives that shaped them as adults. Their struggle to get back on track and find that connection after several years apart and other people getting in their way, including a nutty stalker. It was funny, sexy, at times frustrating and with a little action will have you cheering for their HEA. I highly recommend this trashy tale.

What another amazing release by Kelley Harvey! This is the second book in the Bad Boys Next Door adventures, but we have a whole new cast of characters, including my favorite Aunt Delores. She is fantastic! Also love Lou and Buck and you cannot help but root for the two of them. Such a history there, which you will have to read the book to find out. Buck always thought he would see Lou again, Lou not so much. Bad girl or Bad boy?? Read this book to find out!!

WOW! I really loved this book! There is Buck who is an up-and-coming movie star and Lou who is a bad girl Marine. Buck and Lou are childhood friends , until Buck left for Hollywood and Lou went into the Marines. Now they are both back in their hometown. Lou dosn't want anything to do with Buck, and all Buck wants is Lou. Can they overcome the past? This was a grea book and it ended way to soon for me. I would recommend reading this book.

I really liked this book. It was rough around the edges and it was just awesome. Lou and Buck have this crazy chemistry that you think is a back and fourth kind of relation ship. You can tell that Lou was hurt. But as you read it something big unfolds and then everything makes sense. This book kept me interested and wanting more. Can't wait to see what her next book will be like.

I really loved the first book in the Bad Boy Next Door series, but I have to say, Kelley Harvey took it up a notch in So Trashy. WOW! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, and never wanted it to end.

Lou was raised by an evil mother who abused her. The town she lived in didn't treat her much better saying she was the daughter of a junkie and her pimp. Her best friend Buck actually saw the real her, and she fell in love with him as they grew up. He left her to go to Hollywood, and Lou has never gotten over him. After she realized he wasn't coming back, she became a Marine. Buck thought he did what was best for her, but 5 years later, he knows he made a huge mistake. Now he has his work cut out for him as she's filled with bitterness and anger. Will Buck be able get Lou to admit that she missed him?

I freakin LOVED this story so much! The character development is fantastic, as the author did a great job with the layers being exposed slowly. The addicting, sexy, and well written story line flowed perfectly. Kelley Harvey added in some twists and turns that made the story impossible to put down. Flammable chemistry made the sexy scenes EXPLOSIVELY HOT! Lou's sass, and her aunt's mouth had me rolling constantly, and a big secret had me physically emotional. In conclusion, So Trashy is an amazing story of love, forgiveness, and second chances that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Well Ms. Kelley Harvey has done it again. i didnt think a book could be as good as So.BAD but So.Trashy has lived up to it. But i do have to admit it wasn't what i thought it was going to be. i expected a BAD girl but she really wasn't. Shes BAD in another way. a good way. She's just trying to help out her Aunt Delores with a few repairs and well she needs money. In the beginning i was thinking WITW [What in the world] but everything comes clear in the end. Give the book a try and see where it takes you!
Oh and i must say this about Lou and Aunt Delores. OMGEE their personalities ESPECIALLY Aunt Delores. omgoodness she had me laughing everytime she spoke in the book. And Well Lou she has a great personality and her humor is amazing.
I'm so glad Lou gave buck another chance. They are perfect for one another but i do have to say sometimes i could have slapped Buck. Lou should have. It would have been great getting to picture some of Lous training on Arianne in that one scene but other then that its just a good book and i really can not wait until the next book I will be reading future books by Ms.Harvey !

i received this book as an arc to post my honest and true review ! Thankyou Kelley for this amazing opportunity !

So Trashy from Kelley Harvey is a 5 star read.
Romance, Steamy sex, Hot Alpha Male and Female

There was a time that Buck was my hero, always saving me from the sh#tty hand life dealt me.

Kelley Harvey does it again. So Trashy is the second book in the Bad Boy Next Door series and can be read as a stand alone.

Lou returns from the Marines to help her Aunt Delores. Her childhood sweetheart and best friend, Buck also returns home to film a reality show. They haven't seen each other in five years, so when they see each other sparks fly. Will Lou let Buck back in? Will they get their happily ever after?

I love Lou's strength and Aunt Delores is great. There is also some huge drama from Bucks ex.

“I still don’t understand. If you cared, why didn’t you ever call? Or text? You were only a few hours away while I was stationed at Miramar-why didn’t you come see me?”

This is very hot, trashy, and steamy read. This is a must read that you won't want to put down until you are done. I can't wait to read the next book from Kelley.

The not so white trash is what they called her growing up. Lou tried really hard not to let it get to her but it was even harder when you r mother called you the same names as the small town you grew up in did. All of them except one Buck Wilder. No he was the boy that stood by her side and protected her from every on including her mother. He was also the one that broke her the most.
Buck, left his home town to become more than what that town had to offer and he succeeded. What he didn't have was the one woman that he loved above all else, would she love him still?
If you are looking for a read that will have you laughing, angry, crying and fall in love, well this is your book. I love the banter and strength that Lou dishes out to whom ever tries her. I didn't however like how quickly se would give in to Buck. I mean I would kick his ass and make him stew with his wounds for much longer than she did, but hey that is me.
Kelley gives us an entertaining read that has dirty written all over it with a dash of romance and passion. Nothing better than to read something So Trashy on a rainy day!

This is the second book in the Bad Boy next door series and this one's actually about a bad girl. I absolutely love the fact that instead of the typical bad boy story this book is the story of local bad girl Loula Mae, who you'd better call Lou unless you want to be punched in the face. She's a trash talking, fist throwing, doesn't take crap from anyone kind of girl and I love every little bit of her! She is prickly like a cactus and if you mess with her you will most definitely end up with one of her thorns, or one of her combat boots, in your backside. Some of Lou's feistiness comes from the fact that she's been hurt in the past and doesn't plan on ever letting it happen again. Too bad the source of her pain has taken it upon himself to grace her with his pain in the butt presence and there's not a darn thing she can do about it. I found this book to be hilarious and entertaining and I didn't want to put it down. I highly recommend this to anyone and I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Star Review and I would have given more if I could
I was given this book for a honest review
Buck and Lou were high school sweethearts, they grew up together and were best friends until Buck went off to Hollywood to follow his dreams.
Lou would do anything to get away from the town she grew up in so she joined the Marines...
Bucks home doing a reality show about himself and Lou is home after leaving the Marines to look after her Aunt Delores. Its inevitable that Buck and Lou will meet .........
Buck still wants her but Lou is now a sassy tough girl who will kick any mans ass that gets in her way and wants nothing to do with him. How will it turn out you need to read the book for that ...
I loved all the characters in this book each one is very different they will make you laugh and they will make you sigh and wonder how much hotter can this get..... Aunt Delores has some great lines and Lou sure knows how to give a guy blue balls ....
This book is as good I not better than book one So Bad . Loved it and looking forward to more in The Bad Boys Next Door Series

Buck is back in town filming a reality tv show.Lou goes to try and get a job and Buck just so happens to be there and (Omg I could just picture it i started LOL and my family was like wtf im like sorry im reading) he is like oh hell no not my Lou.Lou and Buck make a deal so Lou can help fix her aunts Delores house. Buck has a wacko for a stalker. Lou tries so hard to keep from falling for Buck ,again and possibly getting her heart broken all over again.
With this book you get some hot sex a bad girl/boy, a stalker you even get a secret you got read to find that out

Kelley Harvey's So. Trashy was a unique treat. It isn't often, OK if ever, I get to read about a bad girl. Lou is one of my favorite kinds of female characters. She is strong, confident, protective and yet she can be vulnerable. She is female after all and not a robot. She may try her best to hide certain feelings from insufferable males, but she has a heart of gold. Buck was harder to tell when I read the book. I wasn't sure if he was sincere. He had a chip on his shoulder from being poor, he also had a heart of gold. I enjoyed the play between these two. It was comical at times, emotional at others. Just saying I love Aunt Delores. I wish I had one like her. She was hilarious. The book was predictable in a few places but then totally derails me and takes a twist I didn't expect. I loved it. The romance was a hard hard fight. This was a fast read for me. I wanted to know what happened and I wanted to know immediately. I recommend it to anyone looking for a laugh and a hard won fight.

Loula Mae, aka Lou, and Buck are from a small town. Lou lived with her "white trash" mother and Buck has moved in with his grandparents. Buck has become Lou's protector from the cruel kids to her abusive mother. They became best friends and went, did and shared everything.

Having earned a scholarship for college, Buck leaves for Hollywood so Lou can go to college and become the success she was meant to be. Both never said what was on their minds or in their hearts.

Lou joins the Marines instead of going to college and Buck becomes an up and coming star.

After five years, she returns home to help her 'aunt' with her home and the studio sends Buck home to do a reality show about his life. When they see each other the sparks fly but the ghost from the past makes things hard to trust then throw in a stalker after Buck and the misunderstandings just multiply.

Kelley Harvey is a great writer who pulls you into her characters lives and you can't put it down until you see what could possibly happen next. A must read for all who love a HEA.

I was given an ARC for an honest review and I must say that this is my favorite so far!! Don't get me wrong I LOVE all of Kelley's books, but this one was just SO freaking amazing. Such a fun read...I laughed so hard at parts that I had tears and got strange looks from the family! Aunt D (as I call her) is just something else...the things that come out of her mouth! Lou is a bad a*# Marine with awesome heart. She will do what it takes to help her family. Buck is too hawt for his own good...with the dirty mouth to match! Hot steamy sex that will soak your panties and leave you wanting more! The writing in the book is phenomenal. One of the things I love the most about Kelley's books is her writing style. She doesn't use the same lines over and over again or drive a word into the ground with it's use. A definite 5 SO. TRASHY. stars and one that I will read again and again! Smooches....twice ;)
