Life Preaching

Rate this book
Featuring interviews with preachers such as Tom Foster, Stan Gleason, T. F. Tenney, Claudette Walker, Raymond Woodward, and many more, Life Preaching "presents preaching from the human perspective based on interviews with some of the outstanding preachers of our day. The author skillfully introduces the topic with solid commentary, and then illuminates it with the experiences and accumulated wisdom of those who have lived the preacher’s life. It is as if you could travel the country and spend time with some of the very best preachers of the Oneness world and learn from them the fundamentals of the most important part of your ministry. This book deserves a place in your library. You will open it again and again and each time will learn something more." From the foreword by Jerry Jones.

This book was both practical and encouraging. Loved the real life experiences and advice from both men and women preachers in the Pentecostal movement. Highly encourage anyone who operates in the ministry of preaching/teaching to read.

Preaching is not my forte, not necessarily a gift God has placed upon me. When I speak, I am more of a teacher. But I enjoyed the fact that this book feels almost interactive. It had Q&As from the author and other well known preachers in our organization which I found insightful. And it almost gives you a “break” from the textbook style writing in places.

Incredibly practical and diverse. I love that McClintock filled this work with so many interviews from so many great preachers. If you have read "We Preach" by Jerry Jones, Jon McClintock mentions that Bro. Jones was his pastor for some time, so they both have a similar ring. The influence is certainly there. I love the premise that the whole preacher is part of preaching, not just the sermon. We must live truth in order to preach truth, but the tips from so many different individuals is quite valuable. Highly recommend!

This book is a great tool, that every preacher, pastor, teacher and wannabe preacher should have! There is a lifetime of knowledge that can be learned and applied to your own life, just reading all the wonderful interviews alone, of the various pastors throughout the book was a blessing, couple that with the authors personal journey and commentary of each chapter, you walk away with the wisdom and understanding of a seasoned pastor!

Great Book on preaching. Bro. McClintock doesn’t just talk on preaching he being in experienced preachers to talk to us. Great for those aspiring preachers, or those seasoned. The book brings both anointing and craft to mind when it comes to explain preaching.

A solid and practical book on preaching. I enjoyed the interviews with preachers - several of whom have been inspirations to me. The chance to see behind the curtain was valuable.
