Dragonheart must find the traitor, Magnus, who is still a threat to the harmony of his home. He journeys north to the wild islands and to the land of the Welsh but still his enemy evades him. Finding another link to his past the Jarl Dragonheart discovers the tomb of an ancient British Queen and his link to the mystical sword is strengthened. When he does find his enemy Magnus it is in the heart of a Saxon kingdom and he has to face his most difficult challenge yet. A fast paced novel it culminated in a fight for the Dragonheart's home.
I was born in 1950 in Lancashire and attended a boy’s grammar school. After qualifying as an English and Drama teacher in 1972, I worked in the North East of England for the next 35 years. During that time I did write, mainly plays, pantos and musicals for the students at the three schools in which I worked.
When I stopped teaching I set up my own consultancy firm and worked as an adviser in schools and colleges in the North East of England. The new Conservative Government ended that avenue of work and in 2010 I found that I had time on my hands; having started work at the age of 15 I found the lack of work not to my liking and used the time to research the Roman invasion of Britain and begin to create a novel. The result was The Sword of Cartimandua.
My decision to begin writing was one of the best I have ever taken.
I love this series of books, lots of action, lots of history, I have been reading them one right after another like eating candy. My only complaint and reason for 4 stars instead of five is the terrible editing, so many typos it gets annoying. One example is "appoint" instead of "a point" as it should have been. It is like reading a set of books screwed up by autocorrect. The books are so good I deal with the poor editing.
Love the series, but far to many mistakes. The editing seems to be getting worse. How can the author capitalize Jarl for the entire book, then fail to do so in the last instance of use? Scots everywhere should be saddened over their new designation, the Sots...
Good story as always, but typing errors are too numerous to mention. Often more than one per page - and I read these books on my phone (Kindle), so pages are short! Please improve your proof reading...
The stories spiral together as far back as Cartimandua, Queen of the Brigante, Jarl spends the night in Stanwick, home of Lord Lann, and is almost electrocuted AND drowned! You find out why he wants all warriors to attack him(because they hinder each other!) Great stuff.
Another great story need Dragon heart book 11 and 12
Amazing how after 10 books the story just get better and more interesting. Griff really seems to know this time period and hopefully the story of Dragon heart never ends
