Rate this book
Having faked her death, DJ Jesseray is back on the job with a new face. Encountering her former First Full Moon partner is difficult and distracting, but when Joseph Amundsen's (her boss and mentor) pregnant wife faces jeopardy, personal issues must be set aside.

Clues lead Amundsen’s elite strike force to Omaha, Nebraska where they partner with local law enforcement to root out a local vampire nest. New supernatural species make themselves known, adding layers of complexity and politics.

All these complications and more buffet DJ as she prepares for her first magical duel to the death.

As a famous comic once said, "I started out as a child." But seriously, my life has been about books from the time I learned to read; after that, the world opened up. Animals have long held a fascination for me, I'm a proud and long-time cat slave, and I watch animal shows on TV whenever I can. Not surprisingly then, one of the first chapter books I ever read was called "The White Panther." I started writing poetry as early as 5th grade (and have done that and journaling throughout my life). That, fellow readers, is how life started me down the path to writing a supernatural/ romance/ thriller series entitled "Midwestern Shapeshifter." I'm a midwestern girl from waaaaay back: born and raised in central Iowa (Marshalltown); my family visited northern Missouri a lot to see my maternal grandparents on their farm. and I stayed with my sis and her husband in rural Illinois when they were first married. Marriage and husband's career took me to Nebraska, where we lived in Hastings before the divorce and afterward in Blue Hill, Blair/Fort Calhoun, near the Omaha area after (where I got my black belt in tae kwon do). Then I made a career change from teaching English to business education when I moved to Minnesota and got my Master's in Education. I've been a corporate writer and trainer in the twin cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul for a few decades now. But when my creativity needed a bigger and more consistent outlet over ten years ago, I started writing my own stories. So I've been writing for almost as long as I've been a book addict. At least, I'm somewhat consistent...er, at least consistently inconsistent... :D

Thanks for reading!

Cheers!
