The School for Good and Evil Series

Rate this book

Enjoy Soman Chainani's complete New York Times bestselling series, the School for Good and Evil, in this three-book digital collection, containing The School for Good and Evil, A World without Princes, and The Last Ever After.

Journey into a dazzling new world when best friends Sophie and Agatha enter the School for Good and Evil, where ordinary boys and girls are trained to be fairy-tale heroes and villains. Sophie, with her glass slippers and pink dresses, thinks she'll earn top marks at the School for Good. Meanwhile, Agatha, with her shapeless black frocks and wicked black cat, seems a natural fit for the School for Evil.

But when the two girls are swept into the Endless Woods, they find their fortunes are reversed. . . . The aftermath leads to unexpected paths, new alliances, and boys that divide them in an exhilarating quest to find their true Ever After.

Soman Chainani has created a spectacular world that Rick Riordan, author of the bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, says "reimagines the world of fairy tales and will make you question who is good and who is evil" and Newbery Honor–winning author Ann M. Martin calls "a fairy tale like no other, complete with romance, magic, humor, and a riddle that will keep you turning pages until the end."

Honestly, this series has to be one of the BEST I have ever read. It was imaginative, funny, and I loved the characters. I was entrapped in this series. I couldn’t put the books down.
These books take a new spin on the world of classic fairy tales with two incredible characters,Sophie and Agatha. A princess and a witch. When the two girls are dropped into the opposite school of where they thought they’d end up, their lives change forever. The two girls fates are connected in ways they never would have expected.
These books completely pulls you into the world of Evers and Nevers (Good and Evil). This is the perfect book for any fairy tale/fantasy lover.

Nah, I give up. The first book was okayish, but the second drove me insane!!! plus, from what I gathered, Sophie and Agatha end up being sisters, which is kinda weird?? Bcuz wtf? There was so much queer baiting...

JUST WATCH THE MOVIE, WAY MORE FUN ANYWAY.

Sophie's dream is to getting captured by the school master and believes she will with her pretty dresses and long blonde hair she would make the perfect princess in the school for good earn to be a princess and Agatha with her obsession of only wearing black and living in a graveyard seems like the proper fit for the school of evil but when the rules are reversed what will they do to get things back where they belong?

I recommend this book to people who like Fantasy romance and suspense. If you read this book u have to read all 3 to completely know this story. I really enjoyed this book and gave me a new perspective on fairytales.

I read the first page, and I was hooked. Ever since, I've read all the School for Good and Evil books that have come out, and I can't wait for the release of the 6th book, which hasn't even been announced yet! I love Soman Chainani's books, and I definitely recommend this book to fairy tale lovers and the people that like the classic fairy tales put into a school.

An engaging YA Fantasy series that offered another twist on the now oft-repeated theme of a school for magic.

Audiobook review

What an epic adventure this was!

I've got to be honest though, I hesitated quite a bit before starting the book. I wasn't sure if I (a middle aged man) would necessarily by a target for this genre. But then books are to be loved by all aren't they? So I took the plunge.

During the opening half of the first book I was still wondering if I'd made the right choice, but I'm glad I persevered with it it. Not only did I enjoy book number 1 but it gave me no doubt that I'd be jumping straight into books 2 and 3.

What I really loved about the three book series is that each one was different in it's own way. There were emotional moments in all three and the characters were believable, complex and engaging. I find this makes listening to an audio book so much easier. The narrator deserves a lot of praise for this too.

I've read a couple of reviews about the desire for some "disney"fication. I'm not so sure about that but I can see it being a Netflix/prime type series. (caveat - I have no idea if it is already by the way...)

Also, what a great way to spin in some of the classic fairy tales. The Cinderella stuff in book 3 was inspired!

In summary, a fantastical adventure with love and friendship at its heart. JA really really good listen.

My teenage girl recommended this long ago so when I stumbled upon the ebook I thought, why not? The first book started out interesting. I liked the spoofs on the simplistic fairy tales with their princesses in pink saved by gallant princes, saving the world from evil witches, villains and their sidekicks.

But by the 3rd book I was getting bored. Weak plot, tiresome characters, and the endless whining and lamenting about their Happily Ever Afters....

That's for the first 3 books.

My review for the last 3 books were 2 stars... Because the character development continued to be disappointing to the end and half the time I want to slap the main characters instead of support them. And I guess it just felt more irritating as the series dragged on.

These served as brainless time fillers for a few weeks but I won't really recommend buying the series. Maybe just read book 1 for the fun of it but don't bother following the series. there are many better books out there.

I highly recommend reading The School For Good And Evil!
The School for Good and Evil is one of my personal favorite books to read and reread. Now, in all of the books I've read (which is a lot) this series stands out, two girls live in a world where normal people get chosen every 4 years to go to a school for good and evil, where they learn all about fairy tales, In this exiting tale, we read about how Agatha and Sophie go on a suspending journey to find love, and most importantly, survive. But beware, for if ANYONE could predict anything that happens in this series they deserve an award! If you love fantasy, fairy tales, mystery, or just anything magic, you'll love this series.

Losing faith for this series. I can't believe there's like more, at the very most it should just be special chapters and such. It should've end with the third book and maybe even just a standalone. They really stretched this one out. At first I thought the shallowness of the plot was on purpose and then they will like acknowledge their superficial beliefs in like the next book but nooo. Sophie was my incentive for even going this far throughout the series. I don't care if most people think she's annoying, bratty and whatnot. I love her. I'm just resenting the author for executing the story this way, it was not enjoyable. Only the ending part gave me some comfort.

Don’t buy the bundle!

Story was great. I’m not a big fan of book 2 but books 1 and 3 are still great. I wish I would have brought these separate instead of bundled up. The books are NOT separated properly. I can’t see the table of contents for book 1 & book 2 which made scrolling through and bypassing chapters difficult.

I really love this book series. If you love a fairytale world, plottwists, magic, a little romance, people with issues, a school setting,
... but most importantly, good and evil, the clichés about it (heroes and villains, princesses and witches,...) turned around and a lot of character developement, this book is for you.

Oh the chokehold this series had on me in my primary school days. I have re read the trilogy many times, and always find myself enjoying it. This one is for the misfits and dreamers. I will note I never really got into the books following the main trilogy, perhaps age was a factor by that time, but I always say that these three would've been perfect on their own.

Such a cool story! These books I have read over three times each, and every time I read them, I learn something new. It was a super unpredictable plot that was carried beautifully through each book, until it settled on a conclusion that was very satisfying.

Really enjoyed this middle grade series but I know there are more future books! Which has me excited! However, I’ll admit I did not enjoy the second book as much as the first and third book so my rating for the three books altogether is 4.5 but goodreads does not give half stars!

Fantastic

This book was great, I have read the first three and the ending wasn’t what I was expecting. You learn a big secret about Agatha and Sophie, that they didn’t know until they read a certain fairytale about 2 characters.

Definitely one of my favorite series. These books take you on a magical journey through many of your favorite fairytales. Join two "normal" girls from a small village as they take on some incredible adventures.

A really great series though each book did get a tad repetitive! I could predict the endings of the last one without much thought. I did think it was a really cool twist on fairy-tails!!
