I’m a 26 year old law student with a B.S. in Economics from the University of Utah. I grew up on Star Wars and Star Trek and all of that fun stuff. I’ve been writing stories since I was able to hold a pencil and have always loved escaping into books. In the real world I enjoy the beautiful outdoors (camping, hiking, climbing, swimming, all of that) and have recently gotten into skiing. I also love a good game of chess every now and then.

I cite Orson Scott Card and J.K. Rowling as my primary influences, however there are others (Roddenberry, etc.) who’ve clearly influenced me and the list of those deserving credit is, I’m sure, far longer than I could possibly guess.

I have no idea why I'm still reading this series. The story line is moderately interesting, I guess, but the writing and character development is just... so... bad.

But I'm this far in, might as well read the last book.

Mostly lost interest

Spoiler Alert.

I have been reading this series from book 1 and can I say it is a major disappointment, and it does not at all have a feeling of a "rushed" book but rather several terrible plot decisions in or form of the author attempting to throw a twist.

Bad plot decisions are as follows

1. Rain reject Calvin's love, because she doesn't want to hurt him after she dies. - Utterly stupid, the whole premise that Calvin loves Rain because she instills hope in him sounds more like worship than love.

2. Sarah goes with Shen and Tristan to reclaim Remus Nine...
-Who cares about Remus Nine and this side plot. Sarah is still a one-dimensional character who is confused and Shen is just as confused and timid. I'm not in the least bit interested in seeing how that turns out, and Summers complaining about it doesn't justify the gaping stupidity of letting your 2 best officers go.

3. Summer and Nimoux really? We hear the same age old them of Nimoux trying to resist Summers charm. We see Summers is slightly confused as to what she wants then after sleeping with Nimoux she's all.."oh no this is unprofessional we can't do this I have feelings for someone else"...and who might that be? Radain or Calvin but who cares, because Radain is kind of irredeemable at this point and Calvin is in love with Rain....whatever that means...

4. Alex loses his mind before the Senate to no avail. No help to humans shows up against the dread fleet.

5. Dread fleet is boring phalanx position of polarian ships making its shields impenetrable.

Finally, this book lacks finesse of a well polished story. I hoped that the Author would give us more astrological information (just make it up) about the relative distances, and number of stars in the galaxy. What about other Galaxy? Had anyone tried going there? Really it suffers from what most sci-if authors are tending to do but what I can "small world" syndrome.

The Milky Way has 100,000 billion stars.......your store sounds like it revolves around a small cluster of stars not an entire galaxy...and when you say galaxy it leaves the reader wanting more....and undelivered more.

Another great adventure with a touch of romance

From the humans to the rest of the galaxy Senates are being purged, kings/queens being overthrown, Shen human or ?, Who loves who? I'm not crazy for romance books but the little touch Linda helped to look at the as real people. This series has kept me reading to well after midnight for several nights. So now I'm off to the next adventure and I can't wait to see what will happen next.

One of the best in the series

Fast paced action on many fronts. The details about the many cultures and subcultures we're very well developed. The author creatively developed situations and challenges and just as creatively addressed them. Many issues that arose earlier in the series resurface in this book

It continues

The suspense and action are not relenting. The enemies become stronger and larger. The dangers increase dramatically and all humanity and its allies are at stake. Fight on!!

New enemies are revealed.

Author freebie. The rotham war is pretty much over. The human civil war is vending. Now a religious war with the polarion race begins. Turns out you can have a religious war even if one side is atheistic.

Book 6

Book 6 had errors throughout but was a fun read. The characters and plot have developed well. The overall plot has increased and I look forward to book 7

Action packed

Great writing, loved the books so far, anticipating the next. Great characters, intriguing plots, lots of comedy to break up the seriousness. Well recommended.

Loved this series one of the first I read on Kindle. Sci-Fi space opera that was easy to read with relatable characters.

Reckoning is the beginning of the end and the payout for faithful readers in huge. It is clear that Sanders had most, if not all, of the threads of Reckoning in hand since the beginning as in each major (and most minor) plot points appeared to naturally arise from the hints and character development of the past books. The romance was a bit much, and too graphic, for my tastes, but the overall plot was gripping and amazing! I can't wait to see how everything concludes!
