I had no idea what to expect when the producers of Dr. Hoffman sent me to the pristine white mountains of Aspen, Colorado. This month is the month of the emotions and marks the end of everything.
It forces Mia to face her past, making peace with him so that in the present she can live more serene and thus her future can be promising.
The author also gives us the information about what happened to each important character in this series, which I found very good.
And now I can say goodbye to Mia?!

Oké, niet helemaal wat ik verwachtte van dit slotdeel, maar goed. Het is een mooi einde aan een serie met iets betere delen en delen waar ik liever niet meer aan denk. Het is gedaan mensen!

Het is klaar, deze serie. De aanhouder wint. Ik heb me echt door de serie heen moeten wurgen voor de boekenclub Books Ever After; iedere maand 1 deel.
Hoewel er delen bij zijn die ik niet meer dan 1 ster kon geven, heeft deel 12 dan nog 2 sterren gekregen. Het is in kerstsfeer neergezet, dus als je dat in December leest, valt het wellicht ook wat beter. Ik vond het echter jammer dat het een leuke setting is - ik bedoel in het winterse Aspen, een paar dagen voor Kerst - en dat de schrijfster er zo weinig uit weet te halen. Brengt me ook gelijk op het punt dat ik nog steeds niet kan geloven dat deze serie überhaupt is uitgegeven, laat staan 4 tot 5 sterren krijgt van de lezers! Wat is het wat hen zo aanspreekt? Zelfs de sex scènes zijn over the top!
Enfin, het is gedaan. Nooit geen Audrey Carlan meer voor mij. Ik zou de serie dus ook aan niemand aanraden, tenzij je een enorme Fifty Shades fan bent.

This was the perfect ending to the series! And once I finished it left me feeling happy with how everything for wrapped up. In this last episode Mia goes to a cabin in a mountain town to interview some local artists and spend Christmas there. Mia gets a surprise when she arrives there and there is one more issue to deal with. I could understand why she handled things the way she did and it must be difficult for her to deal with that. I did think it explained a lot and gave us one more piece to understand. A few things made a bit more sense now and I couldn't help but feel sorry for this person.
So there was one more issue for Mia to deal with and then there were the interviews with the local artist, but that was only a small part. For the most part this book is about the issue and besides that it's nicely wrapping up the series with a fun Christmas spent with her new family. It was heartwarming and made me happy to see her have her first Christmas tree and a fun holiday. I could really feel her happiness and I am so happy for Mia that after this whole journey she found her place. You could really feel her love and care for the people around there.
It was an uplifting and perfect ending to the series and the line Trust the Journey really fits. After everything she has been through it's great to see how she has changed and the new person she has become and how she's found her place. There is a sweet epilogue from Wes his point of view and then we get to see how all the other side characters are doing, which I thought was a great addition. As Mia meets so many people along the way and it was neat to see how everyone their life will continue afterwards.

Estamos chegando ao fim da jornada de Mia! A evolução de Mia como pessoa é muito evidente aqui. Seu amor por todas as pessoas de sua vida está transbordando. Vimos como ela aprendeu a confiar na jornada e, principalmente, acreditar no amor. Não apenas o romântico, mas aquele que inclui todos os amigos que ela fez ao longo do caminho e o quanto isso permitiu ela crescer e se permitir com o que passou.

December is my favorite in this series and one my favorite series finale books from 2015. Reading it made me feel sentimental about the holidays ( something I lacked this year) and ushered forth some pent up tears and heavy sighs.
What happened? Well, something about Wes finally broke through in this one. Suddenly I saw what Mia (and most of the other CG series readers) must have been seeing and experiencing. I don’t think I felt his relaxed and playful side since the initial meeting in January. Things just got complicated and messy between them so maybe now that he feels that he’s really got his girl, his swagger and sexiness didn’t feel staged. (Forgive me, I may overuse theatrical terms in this review - but he’s a filmmaker and it feels right). Anyway, he felt soooo genuine. Wes bulldozed over and through my slightly indifferent heart and said…”seeeeee, this is what I am made of!”
As for the storyline, I anticipated Mia's reckoning. It was obvious she was going to come full circle and get some of the closure she needed. As it was, the Saunders girls’ ‘rents owed them that much. So, on the maternal side they got a plausible but not entirely forgivable explanation, and then withdrawal leading to disappointment on the paternal side. But with the new and expanded support system, the blows aren’t too hard and they all make it through. What I loved is that it wasn't all kitten and rainbows. They felt like real outcomes, the type that balanced them, in particularly Mia, with the upward spiral she’s been on and that 180 degrees change in lifestyle she’s experienced.
And then the Epilogue…well deserving of a *squeeeeeee*. I didn’t expect it when it hit ( Yes, I was watching the % to completion marker) and it was JUST WOW! Simply stunning ! Where Christmas made me sentimental and the wedding was lovely and beautiful (short and sweet), the epilogue brought on the best happy feels & tears. I felt that lightheaded and the *swooon* trance come over me. December is a 5 star read with my recommendation.

Eindelijk is deze serie afgelopen! Dit deel vond ik minder slecht dan de voorgaande delen, maar nog steeds is het geen geweldig boek. Ik denk dat de schrijfster zoveel meer uit deze boeken had kunnen halen.

My heart is full, right now. Full of emotion and satisfaction over having read this story that has evolved so beautifully from sexy fun to a wholesome emotional adventure. My calendar is complete. A whole year! And I'm going to miss it.
My beloved Wes and Mia have come full circle. He's dealing with this trauma in a much healthier way while Mia has another successful go at her new job filming segments for TV about what beauty is in people's lives. Their bond is deeply touching. Yet for Mia there's a huge hurdle to overcome that I was eagerly awaiting. And it's as devastating, surprising and human as I wanted it to be.
The feelings of family unity and Christmas cheer were strong and heartfelt. I loved every minute of it. There are also some harrowing moments for Mia and her sister. They were hard, realistic. I can't believe this year-long journey of life and love has come to an end, but it's been so fulfilling and intense that I can only wish it could start again.

I kind of liked this book and I also thought that Mia should be a little bit more flexible. But it was just an okay read for me, the series alltogether are just okay. Just okay and well okay, hahaha.

To be honest, I'm glad that I finally finished this series. The last part wasn't anything special but I enjoyed it and it was fun to see how everything came together.

Het is wel een passend einde van de hele serie. Hoe de eerste zeven/acht delen voornamelijk over sex gaan, weet Audrey ergens in de serie een draai te geven aan het verhaal. Waar ik tot het zevende deel de levensdoelen vond, bleken deze later te zijn verdwenen. Ik vind het mooi dat Audrey weer een levensdoel in het laatste deel heeft gezet.
Tevens vind ik het laatste deel goed omschreven, het leest vlot en heeft minder sex scenes. Het is wat aantrekkelijker te lezen omdat het verhaal familiegericht is.
Ik heb wel het idee dat het einde wat abrupt is gebeurd en dat het ineens heel snel is gegaan maar denk niet dat deze serie langer had moeten duren. Ik ben in ieder geval blij dat ik een serie uit heb en deze ik deze gelezen heb. Ik vond het ergens wel de moeite waard.

Did the author have amnesia? Mia started the series at 25 years old and was still 25 years old in December. Meanwhile her sister started at 19 and ended at 21? The smell of Whiskey that she hated in book one, Mia was drinking in book 3? 4M was never explained although our was set up as if it would be? Clearly 4M meant For the Four M's in her life (Maddy, Max, Mia and Millie) But the character wasn't smart enough to catch on!?! And is she 5'8 or 5'9? Millie never met her sister? And how is it her Billionaire brother didn't have any political connections? Really? And he's in the oil business?!?!? It started off really great but around book 5 it got really stupid and felt as of the author was getting lazy.

Niet zo slecht als sommige delen. Maar ook niet geweldig. Daarom twee magere sterren. Ik ben blij dat ik het uit heb. Ik wilde de serie graag uitlezen, maar dat was niet altijd even gemakkelijk. Ook bij dit boek had ik soms moeite om door te lezen. Het is allemaal net even te perfect. En ik heb niets met dat gezwijmel van hij is mijn grote liefde, hij is mijn alles, etc.

Wonderful, heartwarming end to a fantastic series. These characters have become so much like friends over the past year that, it's going to be strange not to read about them every month!
Trust me when I tell you, the author does a wonderful job of tying up the series, no loose ends to wonder about. Some of it you will applaud, some of it you will shake your head about (character decisions sometimes amaze me).
Love thyself as I have loved thee comes to mind when I think of this series. It took Mia a lot of struggle to get to the point she is at in the end of the series but, the struggles were worth it. Looking beyond ourselves and trusting others with the precious cargo of our hearts is hard but, rewarding.
Trust the journey.

Mia goes to Aspen for a family Christmas and for her show. There is more family there than expected and Mia finally will get some closure. This is the final book in the Calendar Girl series and I have had an amazing journey with Mia, this series is one of the best I have ever read! I am sad to say goodbye to Mia and Wes and their friends and family! I especially loved the final epilogue catching up on everyone.

This is the ending to all books and I loved it! The struggles and truths that have happened all through this series are all incorporated and ended and explained in this last book. I truly loved this series and applaud audrey for her writing and for this series. I will definitely need these on PB to add to my collection because I loved them so much. Give this series a go! Oke hiermee dus ook het 12de en laatste deel gelezen
en nu kan ik besluiten dat ik geen fan ben.
Je kan zo hard roepen dat er een verhaal inzit en dat het zo mooi is, maar ik vind er niks aan.
Het is allemaal wat te platvloers, te slordig uitgewerkte verhalen en te voorspelbaar.
sorry voor de liefhebbers, maar het is absoluut niet mijn ding
en nu kan ik besluiten dat ik geen fan ben.
Je kan zo hard roepen dat er een verhaal inzit en dat het zo mooi is, maar ik vind er niks aan.

I did it! De serie is uit: fijn!
Eigenlijk viel dit laatste boek me nog wel mee. Ik hou nou eenmaal van de kerstsfeer en dat was wel enigszins aanwezig in dit boek. Prima afsluiter en ik vond het laatste hoofdstukje waarin je nog even van iedereen las wat er van geworden was erg leuk!

No começo de tudo, lembro-me de ter amado essa saga como não amava qualquer outra do gênero. Por muito tempo foi assim, até que as coisas tomaram um rumo inesperado. O que antes poderia ser considerado um enredo com uma boa premissa, com o tempo, se tornou algo muito cansativo. Um fim lamentável.
Parece que quando chegou do meio para o final, a autora se cansou de desenvolver a história de Mia e, simplesmente, jogou tudo para o ar escrevendo de qualquer jeito. É nítido que a história se perdeu do meio para o fim, afinal qual era a proposta da saga desde o primeiro livro? A jornada da Mia como acompanhante de luxo. Na teoria era para a história ter seguido assim até que no fim fosse perceptível a evolução da personagem em sua trajetória. O que aconteceu foi que em meados de agostou ou setembro, não me lembro com exatidão o mês agora, a autora simplesmente ligou o dane-se para a proposta do livro, e do dia para a noite nossa heroína tinha um irmão multimilionário feito nas coxas para pagar sua dívida e livra-lá de todos os problemas. Eu achei isso bem incoerente até com a personalidade da própria personagem. No começo, a Mia não aceitava nem bala de ninguém com todo aquele discurso de: "Eu tenho que seguir meu caminho", "Eu tenho que resolver meus próprios problemas", "Eu não posso aceitar dinheiro seu, porque se não eu sempre vou ficar em divida com você", etc. Para no fim, pegar quatrocentos mil reais de um irmão que ela tinha acabado de conhecer. Gente?!
E para por aí? Não mesmo. Magicamente, Mia, ao largar a vida de acompanhante, consegue o emprego dos sonhos como apresentadora de televisão e já no primeiro episódio se torna uma febre mundial, as coisas nessa saga são tão forçadas que as vezes dá até medo. Meu consciente não consegue assimilar isso aqui. É a mesma coisa que ler "A Seleção" e quando chegar no meio da saga ver que a América saiu da competição e decidiu viajar pelo mundo tocando violino. Além de ser absurdo porque não entretém o leitor ainda é surreal pelo fato de tomar outro caminho diferente do que foi prometido inicialmente.

Sabe, essas características típicas que você sempre encontra em um livro da Abbi Glines que te faz querer nunca mais ler um romance na vida.

Está entendendo o que eu quero dizer? Depois de abril parece que a história é só ladeira abaixo. É tudo tão tosco, e não um tosco bom que te faz rir...
Falando em tosquice, o que era aquela amiga sem educação da Mia? Aquela tal de Ginelle. E aquela irmã dela? Qual era a função daquilo? Gente, eu não sei quem era pior. A sem educação da Ginelle ou a irmã duas falas da Mia. Ambas sem desenvolvimento e esteriótipadas. Mas que esteriotipo revoltante. Dava muita raiva que, absolutamente, tudo a Mia tinha que enfiar as duas no meio. Se o Wes ou Max chamavam a Mia para ir na esquina, por exemplo, já tava ela: "Ah, mas e a Mads e a Gin? Elas não podem ir não?" Era o tempo todo pensando nas duas antes de pensar nela mesma. Eu só ficava: "Amada?". Sem contar os outros momentos vergonha alheia, né.
Sabe o que é mais surreal nessa saga toda? É que tipo, eu tenho um pressentimento de que a autora não sabia ou tinha preguiça de desenvolver um conflito por livro. Acho que foi em setembro quando ela decidiu largar a vida de acompanhante de uma hora para outra (O mais engraçado é que ela trabalhava para uma agência profissional, mas não existia contrato, multa, cláusula. Não tinha nada disso.), nesse mês tudo enquanto era desgraça que poderia acontecer na vida de nossa heroína e que não aconteceu nos outros livros veio de uma só vez. Nesse mês, o Wes é sequestrado e fica mantido refém em outro país, o pai da Mia piora no hospital, o agiota que ela estava devendo decide cobrar o restante da dívida de uma hora para outra, a tal da Ginelle é sequestrada, isso tudo acrescentando o fato de que ela tinha acabado de descobrir que tinha um irmão multimilionário que a mãe escondeu dela... Você deve estar se perguntando agora: "Poxa, mas se tudo isso aconteceu em um livro só, o que sobrou para os outros livros?". Eu também estou procurando até agora...
Poderia até dizer que sobrou o Wes e a Mia ficando juntos no final, como eu queria dizer isso, mas todos sabemos que não iria ser verdade. A autora tinha a faca e o queijo na mão semi partido para fazer deles um dos casais mais memoráveis de todos, mas ao meu ver estragou isso também. Desde o início, fica evidente que Wes e Mia iriam terminar juntos. Contudo, você, leitor, imagina que haverá no mínimo uma briga ou um empecilho que dará o mínimo de mistério ao futuro dos dois. Sabe, eu costumava pensar que a Mia teria uma jornada como acompanhante e aí no começo do último livro que ela e o Wes iriam ficar juntos de vez. Ainda bem que eu não apostei isso. Acho que em agosto eles decidem que se amam para sempre e vão assim até acabar a saga. Sim, isso mesmo, sem mistério, sem desenvolvimento e sem nenhuma graça. Quatro livros, incluindo esse de dezembro, de puro romancezinho perfeito, uma quantidade alarmante de relações sexuais e o desenvolvimento esdrúxulo do programa mais esdrúxulo ainda da Mia. Eu mereço isso.

A diferença é que nesse tem neve, natal e um pouco de casamento, mas a forçação é a mesma da maioria dos outros livros da série. Vi que tem um conto de dia dos namorados, talvez eu leia para não deixar nada de fora ou talvez eu não leia pelo fato de estar saturada. Só Deus sabe o que o futuro me reserva em questão de livros. Nossa nem acredito que consegui vencer essa série!!! Vamos ser sincera? A série é bem ruim e não vale comprar e nem perder tempo, agora se gosta de clichês escrachados, hot e coisas impossíveis e improváveis pode investir o seu tempo. Eu ouvi a série toda por isso não sinto que perdi meu tempo porque na maioria das vezes foi na direção que eu mais ouvia. Nesse último livro é apenas sobre desvendar o mistério da mãe e essa conclusão foi ridícula, teve muita frase de efeito ruim e muito clichê, é claro. A parte que mais gostei é que tem um capítulo só para falar do futuro de todos os personagens que conhecemos ao longo da série, ele é bem resumido mas achei interessante. Recomendo? Não. Tá curiosa? Lê o primeiro da série que é o melhor livro, depois só piora.

Décembre est déjà arrivé, l’année est passée à une vitesse folle. J’ai l’impression que c’était hier que je faisais connaissance avec Mia ! Les mois ont passé pour moi mais aussi pour elle. Il est temps de connaître enfin le dénouement de son histoire avec Wes.
Les fêtes approchent et c’est la première fois que Mia va les passer entourée de tous ceux qu’elle aime.
Alors qu’elle s’occupe des derniers préparatifs pour son mariage, elle va devoir rester forte lorsqu’un fantôme de son passé va refaire surface au moment où elle s’y attend le moins…
Ce mois de Décembre conclut parfaitement l’année et m’a apporté toutes les réponses que je pouvais attendre de ce dernier opus. Si vous n’avez pas encore commencé la série, Janvier arrive pour que vous puissiez la lire au rythme d’un tome par mois, tout comme je l’ai fait cette année ! ♥
