***Note: I was in a bad mood when I wrote this after reading 3 other books back to back with mates who can get pregnant by someone other than their true mate. This H did not have any children, that I know of, at this point with anyone else. He also told another woman that he would not help her during her heat cycle. That's as far as I got when I got frustrated.
OMG! Is it too f*@king much to ask for a true mate story where they can't have babies with anyone but their true mate? I don't care if they have sex but I don't like some OW coming along wanting the hero to be baby daddy and pissed because he won't because he found his "true mate". Wouldn't they have like 1000 kids by now if they helped to ease the women's heat cycles which are meant to reproduce??? What is the point of a true mate? Maybe I'll come back to this because I like Milly Taiden but I'm not in the mood right now...

Miss Taken is book one in the Raging Falls series by Milly Taiden. We are treated to a sexy hero and sassy heroine with a bit of suspense, which made this a delightful read.
This story does have similar aspects as others that MT has written. It’s short, sweet, and fun. It’s an insta-love/attraction story, so things move fast, but MT always makes the insta feel real and believable. That is one thing I enjoy about MT. Some authors can make the insta work and others not so much.
The characters as always have great banter and chemistry together. We are introduced to a whole new set of characters, which is always enjoyable. Kira is a strong women who is biding her time in getting what is her’s back. Wow, her brother and dad where both pieces of work. Those stipulations her father made. Harsh! Luke, is a sexy as sin shifter. What is not to enjoy?
The only thing that bothered me was Kira and the loss of her glasses. I did not get why no one noticed, even her mate, that Kira had to squinting just to make out features on people. For her to not have glasses, to do some of the things she did outside when bad things where happening was a little hard to get, and also hard to believe her mate would not notice this difference. Since I have glasses it’s easy for me to understand the plight of not having them. It’s not that big a deal, but it did bug me.
All around Miss Taken was a delicious read and I look forward to more in the Raging Falls series.

I like this writer, but was not a fan of this book. I think my main complaint is the hero. When he encounters the heroine and discovers she's injured and his true mate he takes her to his home. What pissed me off was that she is quickly confronted by another woman (in his home no less) the next morning that the hero had been having sex with for some time. He referred to her as on-going one night stand (that he had only recently ended) and that she just wouldn’t move on, but still..............this made me dislike his character from the get go. If he was so eagerly waiting for his true mate to come along, was it really necessary for him to be bedding women any chance he got? Also, the relationship between the hero and heroine was very "cookie cutter" like. It had no depth what so ever. The insta-love/insta-lust was just too much for me with this one. The only positive for me that it was offered as a kindleunlimited.

[2.5 stars] This is a Kindle Unlimited rental and it gave me my BBW heroine/shifter romance fix. It's pretty much exactly what I expect when I pick up one of her books - a BBW heroine, a possessive alpha hero and some contrived plot mixed with some smexy scenes. It could be better with the character development (neither H/h are particular standouts), but like Pavlov's dog, when Ms. Taiden rings that shifter romance bell, I come running to read them.

Kira has always sworn to be and is a very independent woman, but her brother has her at her wits end with his demands. At least this one takes her to Raging Falls and into the arms of Luke a very sinful, sexy and very hot lion shifter. Her brother Peter wants that land, but at what a cost, he might just had chewed off more than he can swallow, or maybe he'll be chewed?
I like Milly Taiden she is good at writing short and sweet paranormal shifter books. I did not care for this one it felt to rushed and some holes in the story. It needs to be fleshed out more. It did have all the same aspects as her other paranormal books with insta love ect.

Las historias de shifters me suelen agradar bastante, obviamente no son las historias mas profundas o con mejor desarrollo pero de vez en cuando me gusta leer un libro de esta tematica para salir un poco de las tipicas lecturas.
Miss Taken no es de las mejores que he leido, me resulto demasiado rapida y superficial, ademas se me hizo innecesariamente larga, pienso que con menos paginas hubiera sido una novela mas amena de leer.
No creo que continue con la saga, no me dejo lo suficiente satisfecha como para leer la siguiente parte.

OH Ms. Taiden has done it again with this smokin hot new series. Never one to disappoint she has written one of her best yet to start off 2016 with a big bang. Panty dropping sexy with a great story line. Milly Taiden's books are a must read and re-read this one will be even more. It was a wonderful combination of story and characters that make it a delight to all the senses. Luke a strong dominate alpha male , Kira a strong curvy woman that knows what she wants and is going to grab it with both hands,

This wasn't a bad book and was something close to what I was looking for. Basically a love story with shifters involved. The story started out easy and fresh with an annoying asshole brother too. Kira's brother wants to buy the land in Raging Falls and can't seem to take no for an answer. Kira has a company that Peter, her brother, runs and runs because her dad made it that she can't gain control of her company until she's married or 40 whichever comes first. Kira has been engaged 3x all failed because the men tried to change her and kept telling her how to lose the weight she's always carried. Eventually Kira wants to go to Raging Falls to smooth over what a nuisance her brother has become. Instead she ends up in a huge snow storm, falls and gets knocked unconscious. In comes Luke a lion shifter who is also one of the owners of the land Kira's brother wants to buy. And things take off from there.
It's a relatively simple story with sizzling moments. I enjoyed it up until about chapter 21 or so when the dialogue became something I started feeling the author thought the reader wanted to read. It was, IMO, not really how people speak. Especially the FBI agents. It just didn't feel authentic. Still though the story is great and I enjoyed it. Wish we went deeper into the pack or in this case pride dynamics, it would make the story more interesting.

I have been so desperately waiting to read this new series & I can honestly say that it's brilliant. We have a new sexy ass lion shifter & boy is he delicious. Kira is his mate & she is so beautiful. Oh hell I can't wait for more of this series.

I really enjoyed the easiness of this storyline and it just seemed to be done within a blink of an eye. I finished it within seconds and I would have loved some more depth to the characters and the whole story. The storyline happened over a few days and it would have been nice to have it play out a bit longer to gain more tension between the characters, especially the drama in the conflict. Some of the scenes seemed to be slotted in without a seamless flow and this could have altered with more depth. I would have loved to have gotten a better insight into Luke. I feel like even though he was the main hero, we didn't connect much to his character as a reader and his chapters seemed to be very short. I loved the world that was created and I will be reading more of this world.

If the premier book in this series is any indicator of how hot these books are, Raging Falls is a scorcher!
Kira is a beautiful curvy lady full of sass. Luke is a growly lion not looking for a mate. Add a cabin, a blizzard, a psychotic ex, a jerk of a brother, and mercenaries and you get some amazingly hot scenes!
Curl up on a cold night with this and it will get you nice and steamy.

Spoilers ahead.
Kira came across as hard to me in the beginning. Taking the control issues of her father and his actions into account still did not make her that likeable. Kira hates her brother being in control of her company, so why didn't she just marry anyone to get her company back. With 3 ex-fiancés she obviously had a choice but choose not to marry them.
Kira is just nuts, she knows she is doing it wrong, has an accident and knocks herself out. She wakes up after being saved, is nice and warm and dry and taken care of, but plans to brain whomever with a frypan. Really we all act that way just because we are in our underclothes. She keeps saying she was naked but she still had her bra and panties on. Was Luke supposed to put her in bed with her wet frozen clothes on. Never says thank you for Luke saving her.
She then has to contend with Luke's nutty ex Melissa who threatens to come back and kill her and Melissa even helps the killers after Kira.
I will say Kira took everything in stride, being with shifters, Melissa’s attack on her, Peters behaviour at the end and all without flinching.
Luke was okay but I did not bond with him in any way, he was just going through the motions. There was no serious talking in this book, just insta lust and trouble.
I only really liked the last few chapters after Kira thought Luke was dying, then it became a good read to me with a direction I liked.
Her brother wanting her dead did not surprise me, that came across in the first few paragraphs about the business. Not at all surprised at the ending, though Kira was for some funny reason. I do not understand how she would think he would just give back a multimillion dollar company he was running.
Did not like the premise that The Heat seems to control their actions. A true mate is not the only one who can have kids apparently, so if they have a heat cycle why are there not lots of little Cubs running around. Luke’s mother did not stay after his dad got her pregnant during The Heat. Not my ideal shifter way to bring kids up with only one parent then spout about true mates being everything.

While I love Milly Taiden and her books I dont feel the correct time was taken with this one. The book itself was great and I loved every second of it. As a matter of fact I actually used it towards the end to distract myself from an absolutely terrible book that I am procrastinating even as I write out this review. The main problem with this book was that Luke did not ever explain what being mated or "mine" meant.
Other than that the fact that Kiera is a big girl rather than a stick figure is lovely. Being a big curvy girl myself it's nice to feel the love. It would be nice if the guys didnt always have to the the buff stereotypical sex on legs. Although that could just be my adoration of fluffy fuzzy males like my own big burly growly mate.
All in all it's a great book especially when you want a short romance to distract you from completely awful books that lurk around every corner.
Other than that the fact that Kiera is a big girl rather than a stick figure is lovely. Being a big curvy girl myself it's nice to feel the love. Great story!
Kira Ardan has spent her whole life being independent, which about killed her controlling father. When he died he makes sure she's still under his thumb by having her brother be in control of her company until she marries or turns 40; in 3 years. When she has to go make peace yet again with a company that her brother has managed to upset, she gets lost and her car breaks down. She wakes up the next morning in some else's bed and has no clue how or why.
Luke Lyen, is a lion shifter in the height of his need. The women are in heat and he broke things off with a too clingy lioness. When he rescued Kyra after she slips in the snow in front of her car he immediately knows that she's his mate. Now he only has to convince her.
But outsiders have other plans for both of them.

I really enjoyed the start of this new series
Ms. Taiden has done it again. She's created a series that I was instantly hooked on. I love the two main characters, Luke and Kira, and the community being that is developing to surround the couple. It's a nice set up for the series with good introductions to future couples and a great focus on friendship and loyalty.
My only negative would be the way the Kira's size was repeatedly brought up. It got tiring towards the end. I always love Ms. Taiden's BBW characters, I just felt the size being emphasized a bit more than necessary.

This is a very steamy romance with a shifter claiming his mate but lots of hurdles in his way before Luke gets Kira to agree to be his. Kira is her own woman and can't wait to get full control of her company though her evil brother has other ideas. Kira is saved by this very hot guy and then the fun begins until her brother sends mercenaries to kill her. Luke is not having that. Their happily ever after is well earned.

So I listened to this at work, but mostly walking around dropping of leaflets for the election.
It wasn't that good... It was obvious who the baddies were from the start, yadda yadda yadda.
It doesn't help that it's been a few weeks since I listened to this.
But hey it at least kept me entertained while I was walking and dropping leaflets.

Heart warming
Great way to start the series. Sad to see a sibling get so caught up in greed that he would be willing to sacrifice his own sister. Nice to see Kira had a great friend to help her along the way. Luke was great with his patience, understand, and loving ways. Luke and Kira make a great couple.
