Peter Parker is doing pretty well for himself. He has his own tech company that is doing well.
description
He even hired the Prowler to be a Spider-Man stand in.
description
So of course he's developed new problems along with his new success, like people robbing his company.

So Peter Parker is basically becoming an earlier version of Tony Stark.
So he:
-has a company of his own
-pretends to be his own bodyguard
-has a black guy stand in as his bodyguard when he's busy...

Sounds just like early Tony Stark to me. The difference is that he's not a billionaire playboy philanthropist, but he could be. Especially if he stops taking a middle management salary and starts getting paid what he's worth to his company.

The Amazing Spider-Man is moving in a different direction, but I'm not sure that I want to travel that way. I'm sure I'll check back in using the library or Marvel Unlimited.

This is the Amazing Spider-Man #1 I've been looking for, not the 2014 one, post-Superior which was a letdown after having Otto Octavius a turn as the spider-hero. It had a promising start, and it birthed the excellent Spider-Verse crossover event, but if I were to distill its 18-issue (with a few point ones here and there) it was more about Peter Parker whining why he was made the CEO of a promising start-up which ate up his Spidey-patrolling time.

However, this new approach to Spider-Man, is the one I've been looking for. He has a more global neighborhood now, which is appropriate, since his readership go beyond the contiguous United States now, which Marvel has been slow to realize until now. This Spider-Man may be white, he actually matches the aspirations of his readership; to be rich and be the CEO of his own company and be a superhero while doing it. This is the most power Peter has ever had and I'm glad he's not shirking any of the responsibility. This is the "Big Time" era taken to its most logical next step.

It's been a really long time since I read a Spider-Man comic that was part of the actual universe and you know what? Um... I'm lost. Crap!

It was entertaining with a lot of potential (and a lot of Spider).

New fresh take on spider man. And I love that this 1 issue is stacked. It's a thick book and that's always good for a first issue !

I'm not sure where to start with this one...
Before I read this, the last time I properly read Spider-man was back in the early days of Ultimate Spider-Man and that awesome Venom arc. This Spider-man, on the other hand, is a very different character.
The first frame of the first page is a great way to start, playing off the iconic "great power speech". It sums up Spidey perfectly, serious yet silly. After that, for me as a "first time reader" things get a little strange.
Firstly, Peter Parker is a CEO?! Secondly, there is a Spider-mobile? And why does the Spider symbol now give off a green glow?!
I know that Spider-Man has moved on since the days off being the high school boy beating up bad guys between classes, but this is such a contrast from what I'm used to, it was a little disorientating.
As for the story, it was good fun. There was a good mix of web slinging action and plot developing moments -laying hooks for events further on down the line, and there was also plenty of that Spidey banter he is known and loved for. The artwork also felt like it captured the story perfectly.
But saying all that, this just didn't feel very welcoming for new comers to reading Spidey. It does it's best to explain the situation at the start, and throughout the story, of what has happened before, but the truth is it left me longing for a younger, more care free Spidey. That's not to say this was in any ways bad, it just left me a little wanting. The second half of this book however, which teases all the other upcoming Spider-Man related titles, was a great add and has me looking forward to several other titles!

"Real funny web head.
I'm not joking. If I were there would be a setup, payoff, maybe a pop culture reference. Trust me, you'd know. "
I like his suit, it's giving a bit of what stark had made him but i like it here
Oh he definitely has ADHD "it's easy. Like riding a bike. Upside down. At 88 mph."
Aw the kiddos are Spidey fans
Oh boy he's a menace here , definetely not our 15 year old MCU Peter
He has his parker industries now too
"More all new Innovations from Parker industries! Field tested on the world's best test dummies. That'd be you, lion-o.
Leo, you fool! One of the lords of the zodiac!
Whatever." lmao
Bobbi is badass as hell
PARKER INDUSTRIES MADE AN ANTIDOTE?! YEA NOW I'M IMPRESSED TOO BOBBI
would be not this for months. Just got sick of it. Wasn't going to have another one of them kick it in front of me.
This again? More of your "when I'm around, no one dies" crap?
No. That was... An impossible goal. I know that now. But I'll never stop being who I am, Bobbi. And that means I save everyone I can. Everyone."
"Not to save a world, but to make a world worth saving"
im sorry but NOT THE UNCLE BEN FOUNDATION
"What about spider-man?
What about him?
According to your press releases, he's both your company's mascot and your "personal bodyguard"?
So?
Doesn't that just make you poor man's Tony stark?"
Not the Spidey boxerssss
Him and sajani lol "right. So what's your sign? Pisces, right? I'm a Libra. It'd never work. "
Oop he got her , turns out she works with black cat and all
"Pete's barely back in our lives... and well...
Flying fish with lasers.
Won't be long till we're turning into lizards and giant spiders again."
The parker industries logo is a bit iffy tho
Aw there's a little cartoony thing on the end

Generally lots of action and interesting plot , I liked the bobbi cameo a lot and a different Peter than what I'm used to
Oh and the zodiac signs villains? Also an idea I liked

I’m not that big of a fan of older Peter Parker, but I really enjoyed this issue! It’s got TONS of name drops and cameos, including some of my favorites. The opening scene feels just like an episode of a Ultimate Spider-Man. Would DEFINITELY recommend!

I enjoyed this one quite a bit, was hesitant about the whole "Parker Industries" thing, but they manage to keep all of Pete's values just on a bigger scale. Has some potential for some good stories. Also the issue I read had sneak peaks into other Spider stories, some interesting some not so much.

SPIDER STARK?

IF I HAD NEVER READ A SPIDEY STORY BEFORE I WOULD OF TOTALLY LOVED THIS, BUT I HAVE. LOTS. GOING BACK TO THE EARLY EIGHTIES. PETER PARKERS APPEAL IS THAT HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN SOMEONE PEOPLE CAN RELATE TOO. STRUGGLING TO PAY BILLS, HAVING GIRLFRIEND ISSUES, AND GENERALLY BEING THE SAME IN HIS CIVIL PERSONAE AS 90%. OK, SO HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN SMART, BUT HAVING HIM BE THE HEAD OF THE WORLDWIDE PARKER CORPORATION, UM NO. ITS TOO IRON MAN. YES, I KNOW BECAUSE OF THE MOVIES IRON MAN HAS QUITE POSSIBLY TAKEN OVER SPIDEY IN THE POPULARITY STAKES, BUT SPIDEY IS A NORMAL GUY FROM QUEENS NOT A BILLIONAIRE. OR EVEN AS HE SAYS HIMSELF, 'A POOR MANS TONY STARK'. SAYING THAT, THE WRITING OF PETERS PERSONALITY WAS THAT OF CLASSIC SPIDER-MAN EVEN IF HE WAS NOT IN HIS FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS. THE BACK UP STORIES ACTUALLY HELD MORE APPEAL FOR ME. AS I SAID I STARTED READING SPIDEY IN THE 80'S A DARK PERIOD, MATCHED BY HIS DARK SUIT, SO IT WAS NICE TO SEE THE OTHER SPIDEY, MIGUEL O HARA BE IN THIS SITUATION, BUT WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM ORIGINAL SPIDEY PETE. GOING EVEN FURTHER BACK TO PETERS ORIGINS ANOTHER BACK UP STRIP (BY THE WAY THESE WERE BOTH ADVERTS FOR NEW COMICS TITLED FOR MIGUEL QUITE OBVIOUSLY SPIDER-MAN 2099 AND MILES SIMPLY SPIDER-MAN) WAS WITH THE NEWEST SPIDEY MILES MORALES, A KID COMING TO TERMS HIS WITH HIS POWERS AND GROWING UP IN NEW YORK. IT'S ALMOST LIKE MARVEL/DISNEY ARE RELEASING A LOAD OF SPIDEY COMICS TO SATISFY THE LAST 50 YEARS READERSHIP DEMOGRAPHIC. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE MR PARKER, WHILST MORALES IS A BIT YOUNG FOR ME SO I MAY WELL BE READING MORE OF 2099 THAN AMAZING SOON. THATS THE SPIDEY THIS READER WANTS. SAYING THAT, IM SURE I WILL BE CHECKING BACK ON PETER, AND AS NASTY AS IT SOUNDS, HOPE HE LOSES HIS COMPANY AND BECOMES OUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURHOOD WALL CRAWLER WITH ALL HIS PROBLEMS ONCE MORE.

Wow okay this was bad! So many of my complaints in this review you might find weird, but this is my opinion. First off the artwork was off with me, spider-mans eyes are always glowing green or blue and it looks...off! Plus everyone in this comic looks like an action figure! And lets get onto the gadgets, Spider-man as now pretty much become batman, with a spider mobile, spider boat; i remember when they still had the old spider man cartoon and they would sell stuff like that, but that's action figures don't bring that into comics!!!! Other then that the story was boring as hell! I understand characters have to evolve but this is not the right direction! So for $6 don't waste your money! Also amazing spider man is only normal issue length the rest is previews for other spider man related titles. So this amounts to utter crap!

Well... it's my first (maybe second?!) Spider-Man issue but it kind of reminds me of some DC Comics. There are several reasons, but the most striking case was the car. It screamed Batman. It's not bad or boring, but not that exciting either.
