In regards to this read, my feelings are somewhat conflicted. One end, this wasn't as bad as I had originally anticipated based off the reviews I have read from other readers and then the other end, some reviews definitely were justified and I can completely understand why they weren't pleased with this 'romantic suspense'. The characters weren't likable, the plot was just below average and the overall novel didn't meet my expectations. Additional to that, the heroine obsession with the Lexa's case got tiring after a while and her actions were reckless at best. Nevertheless I did like other aspects of our leading heroine but not enough to win me over. Generally speaking this was an average read and I'm sure I'll forget about this tomorrow.

•I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.•

I enjoyed this book but to be honest at the beginning it was all over the place. It told the story in sections so it would be like five years ago then present then two years ago and it got really confusing. Now that I have finished it I understand but while reading the hopping back and forth got to me. Also when it would go back a few years it states five years earlier... but when it would return to the now it would not say the present or anything so for a second there you get really confused.
Thats the only issue I had. The storyline and characters were amazing!!

Meet Jordan Cross....
She is female living in a mans world 🌎 there is definitely some adjusting to that!! Her career choice, a cop well detective to be correct. She just transferred to a new station and everyone seems to have an issue with a girl being there! She is determined to prove her self. She also is determined to get laid. She is at the bar when she see him, sexy as hell she knows who that is she has seen him enough to know.

Tate Walker.... is striving to be the best journalist there is. He has put in years to his career and has no plans on slowing down. Currently he runs the newspaper. He deals with the police, sometimes doing the opposite of what they would like but he needs the public to know what’s going on! He wants the public to get emotional when they read his stories no matter how much people want to keep certain things on the down-low. Right now he doesn’t have time for a relationship even if he actually wanted one. But he will take home that sexy girl he is looking at that bar.

They meet. They realize once is no way enough. they keep seeing each other! Everything is great tell it isn’t. Things come crashing down! They don’t see each other for a while then Jordan sees Tate everywhere she looks. Even at crimes senes she doesn’t even know how he knows where to go! And honestly she is getting pretty annoyed with him and with herself for the feeling that rise in her because of him.
Jordan is working a tough case. Kids going missing, kids laying dead on the floor. 3-5 year olds she needs to catch the sick person responsible!! Plus this case hits close to home even more than she realizes. Tate is working the same case and he has info the cops need. He is determined to help all while keeping the public informed and Jordan is just going to have to live with it.
They need each other! The logical thing to do is help each other out. They could have never guessed where this case leads to and all the things that happened in between.

Love is love no matter how much you don’t want it. I love seeing the characters battle their emotions. They deny deny deny but it’s clear as day for people looking from the outside in. They have chemistry, you know that sexy as hell cant wait a second more kind of fire!

“A moment of cat-and-mouse danced between them... Lately, all those sparks ignited were confrontational disagreements—their differing opinions of how each did their work.”

From lovers, to exes, to working on opposite sides of a case. What happens when your separate worlds collide and you have a different perspective on how to solve a case that is very personal?

“She hoped he wasn’t running away with her heart. She sure as hell didn’t need to lose her heart right now. Not to him. Not again. She might be losing her mind, but she needed to keep a good and tight grip on her heart.”

This book is filled with regret, mystery, fear, revenge, desperation, love, loss, alpha steaminess, hope and despair. I love the flashbacks and points of view the book is written in...it adds to the drama and keeping you on the edge of your seat while piecing the mystery together.

““I feel like I’m coming a little unglued.”
“Let me be the glue to put you back together.””

This book took me a while to finish due to how unwell I’ve been. The book follows the story of detective Jordan trying to find who is kidnapping and killing the young children. Her niece is one of these children who have gone missing and she must figure out why.
I had noticed a lot of typos and grammatical errors within this book whilst reading it on my kindle. It also took me a while to get into.
However, once I was able to get into this book and sit finishing it it was so worth the read! I loved the way this story ended and even shed a few tears once it was done! I love that it was a small author I had never heard of before so it was something different to what I’m used to! I would recommend this book if you can get passed the slower start and the grammatical issues within the book! It’s worth sticking with!

Tempt Me by Maddie James is an erotic thriller that will pull you in. Despite jumping back and forth in time this was a good story. I loved that the heroine was a cop and the hero was a journalist. The chemistry between them was hot, hot, hot! The passion between them was obvious even when they were at odds. I’m glad I didn’t give up on this story and we all get a happy ending.

This was an erotic thriller.
This was a great story, although I had a hard time getting into it at first. So glad I didn't give up.
Jordan is a detective and Tate is an investigative reporter. After a month of intense sex, they find themselves drunk and married. Six weeks later, the marriage explodes and they each continue on with their lives. When Tate gets a hot tip about a girl who has been kidnapped by someone believed to be a serial kidnapper/killer, he shares it with Jordan, who happens to be leading this investigation. When their worlds collide, the sparks fly and so does the emotions.
Working together they will have to fight for their lives and each other to try to get a happy ending for everyone.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I thought this was a reasonably good romantic suspense story but it could have been so much better. I'm not a prude and don't mind a bit of sex in a book but this one really would have benefitted from less sex and more story. The murdered children were hardly mentioned and there was nothing much about their families. It felt as if their story was just an addition to prop up the story of Jordan and Tate's relationship. I think the author should read a few books by the more popular romantic suspense novellists such as Allison Brennan or Karen Rose to see how they divide up their books.

The story starts off with a hot and heavy sex scene and the story focus on sex. While hoping to find a story that isn't about sex is very difficult to the point the story has zero point and lacks focus.
Its all about her body and its reaction to him.
The story falls shot in every way.

I don't mind sex in books, but when the first chapter starts out hot and heavy, I was a little put off. The story line was good but it seemed secondary to the sex. I feel this would have been a better book with more concentration on the mystery. Not my cup of tea. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

I did not finish this book. Honestly, I got only 10% into it before I gave up. The concept of the plot is intriguing, but the presentation failed to meet my expectations. Also, the sexual chemistry is completely destroyed in the first couple chapters and there is no build up to the relationship moving forward.

Overall, horrid. I would not recommend.
