The Message of St Seraphim

St Seraphim of Sarov taught that the grace of the Holy Spirit is given particularly through prayer. With an introductory biography of the saint, this book concentrates upon a record made by Nicolas Motovilov of a conversation with St Seraphim in 1831, soon after Seraphim had healed him of paralysis. It was discovered in 1902 and published in the Moscow Journal of July 1903, the month Seraphim was canonized in the Russian Orthodox Church.

Terrific, absolutely terrific, descriptions of the landscape as Irina Gorainoff walked from France to Rome for the beautification of Pope Pius X. It made me want to get off my cushy seat and make a pilgrimage--rely on no one but God. Of course, I stayed in my cushy seat.
