This book is all about motion. It talks about what happens when you do something like kick a soccer ball. Once the an action has taken place then the author gives a simple definition of things like inertia, gravity or friction and how it works. Something I found to be very interesting about this book is that at the bottom of the page there were fun facts listed like how pushing on a cars gas pedal uses force. This book would be great for teaching about motion, but in my opinion it would not make as good of a book for just reading. This is because it doesn't really tell a story and their are no main characters. It seems like more of book you would read for the information inside and what it can teach you, which still is very important. I gave this book four stars because I liked it but I think it was have been more interesting if it had some kind of plot or main character.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I would highly recommend this book because I think it introduces science concepts about motion and gravity and inertia to kids in a fun and colorful way. Many kids may not have the opportunity to learn about science concepts like motion on a regular basis or know why it is important to us. Through a book like this one, kids can have the opportunity to learn about physical science in a fun way at home with their family or at school with their class.
This book really teaches motion. It explains how when you do something like kick a soccer ball. Once the an action has taken place then the author gives a simple definition of things like inertia, gravity or friction and how it works. This book is a perfect start to a science lesson. Since it is more of a informational book there isn't main characters. I wish the book had more of a plot I think the kids would be more engaged and interested if read aloud.
I enjoyed reading this book very much. It had amazing illustrations that really relate to younger children. I would recommend this book to any children. It will create an interest in science they never knew they had! This book explains things in a simple manner that children will be able to grasp. Would recommend this to kids ages K-2nd grade.
This picture book is a good choice for introducing the topic of Force and Motion. Each page spread includes fun facts, as well, to spark a child’s interest and connections. Questions in the book invite children to think about the answers for themselves, spurring them to read on.
