My name is Katelyn and I try to live a normal life. I REALLY do. That all changes when a guy named Chris moves into the abandoned house next door. He's constantly shirtless, showing off his sexy torso that would melt any girl's panties. The problem? He is full of secrets. Big black bags move in and out of his house just after midnight often and I didn't know what he was doing. However... I would soon find out.
* This sexy steamy bad boy romance is perfect for fans of Joanna Blake, Devon Hartford, Sabrina Paige, Winter Renshaw, Vanessa Waltz and Dani Wyatt *
I don't know if I'm in a mood or what but lately it seems every book I pick up to read is a huge disappointment. This one was no exception. I stumbled across this book on accident, read the blurb and thought hmm interesting. Unfortunately, that's a Not!
I was bored the first half of the book and frustrated to hell with the heroine the rest. Ugh she was so annoying...Katelyn/Veronica Mars/Nancy Drew was not a likable character.
Katelyn comes home from a night out of heavy drinking with her girlfriends and meets her new hot neighbor Chris while looking for her spare key in his yard. She immediately feels an attraction to him and so Nancy Drew turns on her investigator/stalker skills in order to find out who Mr. Hottie really is. She looks through his windows, goes through his duffle bags, snoops in his garage, follows him in her car. I mean come on Ms. Mars, it's not that serious.
Anyway, back to the story. 2-3 days after they first meet they have sex. The sex was hot but there was no build up. They never really talked to one another before hand so it came out of nowhere and I couldn't figure out the connection. Chris leaves her bed before she wakes up and is gone for 2 weeks. Nancy Drew is pissed!! So she goes on a date, makes out with a new guy in front of Chris to make him jealous. Chris never played the jealous guy. In fact he seemed more amused she was an idiot. Well after she yells at him for not calling her during those 2 weeks they have sex again and before you know it they're a couple. However, I'm still confused.
Chris is working undercover for the DEA trying to catch bad guys(this part I didn't get) Stuff happens at his house one night and he tells Katelyn to stay in her closet and wait for him while he goes fights the bad dudes. What does Veronica Mars do? She does not stay put!
She chases after Chris even though guns are going off and shits going down. She doesn't care. She's going stick her nose in his career and tell him he can't be in danger.
This pretty much is the norm. Bad people after Chris, Katelyn never staying put and trying to track Chris down so she can keep him safe, and having a ton of sex when they're together. After all this crap goes down it just ends. No epilogue, no hint to another book. Just walking out of a house hand in hand after they both could have died.

I would have probably enjoyed the book more if it didn't have so many missing gaps and if we heard Chris' POV. Stuff the story never answered
What exactly does Chris do? Katelyn's sad past is hinted but not explained? Did Chris give up his job cause Katelyn was not going to date anyone that puts her in danger? Will either of them get tested because they didn't know shit about each other but had sex without protection all the time? (Gross) what besides sex do they have in common? Why was Chris troubled? This was a temporary house for Chris, is he staying or going? Chris' friend/coworker died, um are we sad about it?
enjoyed this book. With the heartache that Katelyn had in her life she need someone to love and take care of her. In comes her sexy next door neighbor. The connection is there and he is very mysterious and of course Katekyn has to go snooping. But will she be in more danger with uncovering his secrets. I was hoping for more of an ending after what happened but all in all it was a good story
I honestly don't know how to feel about this book. I did enjoy it at times, and who doesn't love a good bit of mystery and suspense.
However I felt a little let down with what came across as a nosey and at times desperate Katelyn. I know she was struggling after her husbands loss and was falling for Chris, but to go snooping around his house....checking his bags....I felt it was a bit much.
The ending was also a bit of a let down, yes he saved her and there was a hint of a HEA, but given her previous concerns about being safe if she stayed with him, I feel like we've been left hanging a little bit.

This was a fairly good book, and i enjoyed reading it. The only thing i can say wrong about it was few typos and i wish it was just a bit longer to show where they went from there. Overall a good book though.
This book was a nice way for me to spend my evening. It starts with our heroine meeting a sexy new neighbor, and the mystery surrounding him is just too tempting to pass up. But the more she gets to know the H, the more she can't stop thinking about him. I enjoyed the story a lot, but there were a couple things that bugged me. There were several typos, and our h was prone to making really impulsive decisions (like spying and following the H and putting herself in unnecessary danger). Although these two things stuck out at me, I still enjoyed the action, mystery, and romance in this book.
First mistake of the night was to come home tooo drunk to find your house keys, but then to have hidden them in the neighbors yard, what was she thinking? Oh yeah she wasn't! And has she never heard the saying "curiosity killed the cat"! She really needs to work on her skill set of obeying an order to stay put when there is danger! But you have to love her character along with her ability to see the real character of Chris.
Chris was alright, but Katelyn soooo TSTL. I really don't understand how she made the book out alive. I mean I understand for the book to move along she needed to take some risks but good gravy woman!
Decent story line, but the heroine was a doormat, and the grammar was atrocious. Not only that, but the author kept repeating things. For example, the couple was having "fun" outside and she mentioned never having done that outside before. A couple of sentences later, she again mentions never having done that outside. I wanted to give a better rating but I just can't seem to make myself.
Katelynn is living alone in a house passed down by her family. When she gets home one night and can't find her house key, she runs into a stranger who claims to live in the empty house next door. She likes him but the only thing she knows about this guy is his name is Chris. Chris has lots of secrets. He goes away for weeks at a time and isn't able to explain. Can these two work out with all the secrets being held?
When the story opens, Katelyn spots her new hot neighbor and can't stop thinking about him. As the story builds, you can't help but get sucked into his allure. Chris is all male and the author does an excellent job of building suspense around him. I would love to read the story from Chris's point of view to hear his thoughts. Overall I enjoyed the story and recommend it.
OMG!!!! The chemistry between katelyn and Chris was intense. There were so many twist and turns I this book I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to find out all mystery to the shirtless next door neighbor. If you love a good read you should check this book out.
I gave up on this one half way through.. It just did not grab my attention enough, although I will give this author another try as it did have potential and maybe I just gave up too soon... It was not bad just not good enough.
I chose that rating because this was a pretty good book with the big handsome man. Chris was always their to rescue Katelyn. She feel in love with a sexy stranger. He did as well. I recommend this book to all romance readers.
There are only so many times a girl (even as dirty minded as myself) can hear the word "thurst" on ONE PAGE.
Could not finish to be honest... Had SUCH a huge potential to be so good, but too many gaps & holes & sometimes fanfiction type of writing bothered me.
I loved this book I was hooked after the first page. The mystery that surrounds Chris is intriguing and the chemistry between Katelyn and Chris is amazing. I recommend this book you will love it!!!!
Great book with hot chemistry between the characters. It is a quick moving story so buckle down and enjoy the ride. As always - would love to see the characters as their lives move on.....Enjoy!!!!
