This is a novella length wolf shifter story. It is a unique world that I still have to learn more about. I loved getting lost in the story and the conflicts. Lots of action that kept me gripped in the story wondering what would happen next. This was Harlan and Penny’s story. It is an HEA, and I can’t wait to read more. I’m hoping that even though the next story is about Pax that we still get to see both Penny and Harlan :) I wished it didn’t have to end :)
I highly recommend this story to all the wolf shifter fans out there.

This was a really short book - 45 pages long. I think because of that the story and characters had a vague and generic feel to them. Total insta-love vibe going on with this one. I am glad it was offered as a kindleunlimited, but this won't be a series I personally continue. It simply reminded me of tons of other shifter reads I've read. Nothing memorable about the plot or characters.

I picked this book from my Kindle novel because I didn't have time to get into a long story. I like when I luck into a rather good novella about shifters. I feel like I'm getting a bonus from my karma points for all the times I let people have the parking spot I want.
It strikes me rather often that because a plethora of like novels from a certain genre exists a good deal of the time you pick up something that feels like you've read it before. It happens to me a lot when I read shifter books, because Milly Taiden is basically the queen of manimal smut and she has so many good ideas, they inspire a lot of other authors.
Note: I didn't say they steal from her; just that they bite her Millystyle.
I've read Howl and Growl this afternoon--they are such quick reads you can devour one of these during a decent meal. The trilogy is about three Marines who have always been close friends and now share a lonely curse. That curse is been turned against their will they never want to do it to another person, so they are curmudgeons whose bro club door says, "stay out". Unfortunately Penny never got close enough to the door to turn around because some douchecanoe shot at her as soon as she said hello.
Harlan saves the pretty Penny (I wanted so badly to put that pun in my review) when the bad guys try to shuck her of her mortal coil by letting himself get buckshot in the backside--read shoulder. He carries the passedout popsicle Penny to his cabin where he gets a lecture from one of his furry counterparts about the danger a chick brings during the full moon.
Alas, our hero outs himself, and his wolf, by explaining the bonny redhead is his mate. Tragically the curse hovers at the forefront of his mind because he doesn't want his mate to become a werewolf too. But he--Harlan does want her to be his werewife (I made up that title) and his wolf overrides his mopey self denial and makes funky with the doggy loving.
The END.
This is a great small snack of a story. I like the second book too. I am happy that all of the characters are unique because a lot of time there is that thing where an author gets stuck recycling the same personality in every hero or heroine and it's boring. This is 2 thumbs up.

This was a ARC for me to read and give my honest opinion in a review.
This is my second series of Vivian Wood I have read, she is a very gifted author and her books are very entertaining. The story is a fantastic read if you like shifter romance. The storyline was everything I expected a paranormal genre to have, it has suspense, Its fast paced, well written captivating and scorching hot just what I love in a shifter series. The characters are amazing, powerful, convincing and certainly praise-worthy. I find this story a most interesting read.
The three wolf shifters are more than fearless but they aren't very comfortable in being a werewolf. As always the shifter community is in short supply of shifters but the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Harlan, Pax and Halan are three special op's men who joined the service together. But unknown to Chase's friends he is bitten by a werewolf. Chase resigns the special Ops and holds up at his families ski lodge. Harlan and Pax are flabbergast they are like brothers and for one to quit without of the others knowing is unbeleiveable, so they take a leave to go and check on Chase. Chase thought he could control the wolf but he couldn't and he bites his friends and turns them into wolves. Unfortunately there are a group of hunters hunting the three of them. Penny is a young woman who has been cheated on and put down by her boss and boyfriend. So she packs everything in her car and heads to her Mothers who promise her her stepfather won't be there. But just her luck her mother wants her to marry her ex. Penny takes off in the middle of a snow storm, she gets to the driveway of the old Ski Lodge.
This story is a awesome, potent, impressive and great start of a fascinating series. The engaging characters are intense, the scenes are vivid. The descriptions are fabulous with some humor and danger. There's life threatening incidents, camaraderie, heart-stopping, melting heart sensual romance. This is fast becoming one of my favorite paranormal start to a series. WOW is it magnificent!!.
This is a must read book!

Penny thought she had it all. A handsome live-in boyfriend, a job teaching art and now she has lost everything. Her job, her boyfriend and her apartment. You see she caught this "great" boyfriend and her boss having sex at school and was promptly fired. She goes home and not only does he dump her, but they live together so she needs to find another place. She has an almost nonexistent relationship with her mother after Penny tells her about her step-father's sexual advances. However, she jumps on the chance to get away when her mom invites her back to her hometown for a girl's weekend. Upon arrival, she's met with her mother, step-father (who was NOT supposed to be there) and her cheating ex. She flees from the drama. With a snowstorm coming, she is stuck with no where to go and dark approaching. She heads to a lodge owned by Brooke and Chase Harbins, a brother and sister she kinda grew up with, that has been abandoned for several years. She is just going to get out of the storm for the night but is attacked by hunters before getting very far. Chase, Harlan and another marine buddy, Pax are living in some of the cabins on the property while they fix up the lodge. She is rescued by Harlan, a former marine buddy of Chase's and a wolf shifter. Harlan and Penny are getting closer and closer each day they are snowed in at the lodge. Penny is there at the full moon and Harlan has her lock herself in the main lodge to protect her from their wolves when they shift. Penny and Harlan are so right for each other and she accepts his wolf side better than he ever did. They will still have to face the hunters, but as a team they will succeed. I can't wait for the next story to come out. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Holy cheese and crackers, Batman. LOVE IT! WOOOF! What a WOLFTASTIC story!! At first I didn't think much of Penny, but the further in I read, the more I got to know her, the more I loved her! I could totally understand where she was coming from in her thoughts & choices. Harlan actually cracked me up with his Mr. Tough Guy attitude. This book held my attention from the start with its great storyline, the humor, the heart-breaking & heart-warming moments, and so much more. Okay it did way more than just “hold my attention”, it captivated, enchanted, charmed & delighted me throughout the entire story! I was very intrigued with Vivian's take on wolves, their abilities, senses, how they come to be and their lack of knowledge. So PAWFECT!! And I was so excited that the wolf got his say in things too! That is my favorite part of shifter books - when the wolf gets his own personality, when the human & wolf sides communicate with each other. Well, that and the whole fated mates for life deal. This is my first book of Vivian's and I was very impressed and cannot wait to read more! She not only took a popular subject, but she completely owns it!

a wintery storm is the less than perfect setting for penny to have to travel through. not sure she’ll make it she decided to veer of the main road and make her way up to a nearby lodge she knew is around. only her car isn’t strong enough to get her there. when she leaves her vehicle all hell breaks lose. shots are fired left, right and center. tired and cold she doesn’t really know what to do. as she tries to get to safety she stumbles and hits her head, losing consciousness.
not sure where she is when she wakes up, she’s met by Harlan. one handsome package of manmeat.
what starts as a chance encounter grows into a lot more when Harlan has to come clean with what he really is. as it that time when his kind goes into sexual overdrive, he wants her to be safe from him.
on top of this all there is still the matter of the shooting. they’re coming back for more.
will harlan be able to keep penny safe and fight of the shooters at the same time?

Harlan Craig and 2 of his friends have settled back into Winters Pass after leaving the armed services. When he was bitten by his friend who had recently become a werewolf, his life becomes all kinds of crazy!! They are remodelling the Lodge and hiding out from the Hunters, who kill shifters on sight. But when he finds a beautiful woman lying in a snow, he rescues her. What else was he going to do when the crazies were shooting at them!!!
But now Penny has a host of new problems to face. She thought having an indifferent fiancée and demanding mother in law to be was hard work. Now she's snowed in with 3 hottie werewolves and the moon is almost full and Harlans wolf is ready to take over!!!
Great start to a new series. Harlan and Penny are great characters and the camaraderie between Harlan and his buddies is very believable!! Snappy dialogue and interesting backstory. Loved it and onto the next in the series!

Great story... Nothing has gone right for Paige in along time and when she catches her boyfriend with another woman that's the final straw.. She decides to return to Winter Pass.when she gets caught in a snowstorm and shot at by hunters, she thinks her time is up.. Harlan has been living at Winter Pass lodge since he was bitten and turned in a wolf by his best friend.. While trying to evade hunters he rescues Paige... Now that they are in his small cabin he realizes that Paige is his mate and his wolf wants her bad... But when they finally give in to there attraction for each other the hunters return and capture Harlan and his friends. Will Paige be able to rescue them for sure death or will all be lost.... I am really enjoying this series and can't wait for the next one to come out.

A great start to the trilogy! I was hooked in the first few pages. The suspense adds an edge to the hot steamy scenes. Penny has lost everything, her art teaching job and her live in boyfriend, She is traveling through a snow storm and has to find shelter. She gets out of the car to bullets flying. She hits her head and blacks out. When she wakes she meets Harlen her rescuer. He lives in a cabin with his two friends and they have a really big secret. They are Werewolves. Due to the storm they are stuck together and fall in love. Can she handle his secret? You will have to read the story to find out. Can't wait to read the next book in the trilogy.

Penny is having a rough time of things - she's lost her job and her boyfriend, and now finds out that other conspiracies have gone on behind her back. In her rage, she drives off in a snowstorm. She gets so far before she realises that the weather is getting worse and tries to find shelter. She ends up in the middle of a battle between hunters and wolves.
This is a fast-paced but gripping novella, with enough information to keep me satisfied and yet still wanting more. Definitely recommended.

Harlan, Pax and Chase take care of the Winter Pass Lodge,
Penny was an Art teacher until she lost her job when she caught her boyfriend shagging the principal. She gets in her car and heads out, not realizing how bad the weather was getting. She decides to get out of her car and walk to where she remembers there being a lodge during her childhood days. Well as she takes off walking a bullet goes past her and she hits the snow, Someone tells her to stay down while others lead the hunters away.
That is all I can tell you about this great start to this series other than this is Harlan and Penny's story. It is hot... it is good and it is a great start to this series. Grab it!

Penny is having a really bad year. Basically if it could go wrong it has. Pervert step dad, uncaring mother, creating boyfriend and boss, jobless, and homeless it's no wonder she doesn't believe in herself.
Harlen is a Marine without and army. He and his two befriends were turned into werewolves against their will. He isn't happy with the way his life is turning out either.
Can these two find happiness and love together?
Vivian Wood's first instalment in Winter Pass Wolves is a homerun. She does a great job of setting up the characters for the books to come. I'm looking forward to the rest of the set.

An exciting and action packed romance full of snow and wolves, I loved it! Penny is having the worst month ever, after she finds her boyfriend screwing her boss she gets dumped and fired all in the same day! Plus now she is stranded on a snowy road with no where in sight. After she starts walking to the nearest building, things go from bad to worse when she gets shot at. Can anything go right for her? Things look up when she is saved by Harlan, but even he has secrets that could cause her harm. What will happen to her? I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another great story by Vivian Wood. It is well written with strong characters. This is the first book in her Winter Pass Wolves series. This is Harlen and Penny's story. It is a very sweet story about a young teacher stranded in a snowstorm. While trying to reach shelter she his shot at by hunters and rescued by Harlen. Penny is having a really bad day, well it's more like a month maybe.
Losses her job, boyfriend, apartment, then lied to by her mom to get her to visit has left her stuck in a snowstorm with no place to go. Oh did I mention her being shot at? Yea not a great day.
Fate does have a sense of humor!
I really loved this story. What a great start to this series of the winter pass wolves.
It's got the action I crave in a story and hotness plus mystery. Who are the guy's in the white suits?
Pick it up its a fun read!

Howl by Vivian Wood Penny is so anxious to leave her oblivious mother,pervert stepfather and cheating ex that she takes off in a snowstorm. As the storm worsens she realizes she is almost out of gas and tries to find help. She stumbles upon men shooting and is sure that she sees a wolf before she passes out.Harlan is wolf shifter that is being hunted. He takes Penny back to his lodge to care for her.They are fated mates but he tries to deny it to protect her.This is a terrific story with lots of action and passion. A great read. A fun, exciting read! Penny is caught in a snowstorm at a time in her life when nothing is going right. Harlan is a big, strong, guy that just happens to be a werewolf. He saves her from the cold and they have heat!! It's a fast paced read that draws you in to the excitement! I love how he will protect her no matter what! Great connection between them.

Life’s quick turns
Penny’s life just went downhill fast. Losing her boyfriend/fiancé and her job in one moment and then thinking she could go to her mother’s house was just not what she needed. Harlan and his two army buddies are turned werewolves. When Penny shows up right before the full moon all he can think is to get her away and at the same time that he wants her. And then there are the hunters after the wolves. Self-contained and yet part of a series. Well written and fun to read.

Penny is a naive, sweet girl with a bitch of a mother. Her boyfriend has done every dirty dog thing a man can but she still keeps him around until she catch him with her boss and then she gets fired. She decides to leave and gets caught in a snow storm. Then she meets the man of her dreams or wolf of her dreams. It just gets action packed from there. This was an awesome read with two more books to come. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Why, oh why, do I keep doing this to myself?
Here we have yet another absolutely awful werewolf romance. It's just so bad. It's not even a real book! Again with the whole 'cliff-notes' version of what could have been a good book.
Why, or better yet, how do these books keep getting published!?
