HDR Basics: How to make amazing HDR photos!

Rate this book
This is a new type of book. Its a visual book, meaning that it doesn’t have many pages but contains mostly videos. I have learned photography and retouching with the use of tutorials and find that this a very powerful method of teaching. HDR is a hot trend today and is being used more and more in ads, TV, movie poster etc The leader software for this technic is Photomatix. That is what I have been using for years to do all my HDR. This courses will take you first how to set up your camera to take HDR photos and then I will show you 5 examples from start to finish. This should get you started on this amazing technique. I will not go in any technical aspects of why HDR and all kind of unnecessary explanations that will just confuse you. All that is important to know is that all our cameras today have difficulties catching in one photo the dynamique range of a scene. That means that either details will be missing in the highlight or in the shadows. It is purely a technical shortage that one day might be resolved. That is why with HDR we take several exposures of the same scene to get all the details in the dark and very light part of the scene. We then use Photomatix to merge all the exposures together in one usuable photo. Follow me in this journey and lets take great photos ! Serge Ramelli
