Don't get me wrong! There are many helpful tips, and I definitely took notes while I was reading. However, the "Words that don't work" were too negative. Only a parent who really doesn't care much for their child(ren) would actually say those things, and I'm almost certain that parent won't be interested in reading this book. I also tuned out for a while after she suggested the "cry it out" method for very young children but had previously suggested a gradual approach for older children. Doesn't make sense!!! Finally, some ideas felt like manipulating your children into doing what you want them to do, and I really hate that. In conclusion, it wasn't a total waste , but I expected more. I guess it depends on your initial mindset.
