I am a native Floridian who is temporarily (I hope) displaced in Memphis, TN. for work purposes, however I hope to make it home to a partner of 17 years and our family as quickly as I can. I enjoy photography as a hobby along with spinning a good tale.

I am American by birth and Southern by the Grace of God. LOL I enjoy writing about the south and creating characters and events that I hope my readers enjoy as much as I have in creating them.

This story is exquisitely heartwarming. Beginning with a tragedy, then cycling through two somewhat interconnected segments, a lost and lonely woman initially looking for revenge experiences a remarkable catharsis. As she orchestrates her assistance to the women she meets, her nearly devastating bereavement is reversed, leaving an indelible and life-saving mark on total strangers who become closer than family. Courageously cleansing!

Cadin Michaels is a lawyer and apparently quite good at her job. She suffers the loss of her partner through a fairly obvious medical error. In turn, she orchestrates relief from this painful bereavement by the establishment of a charitable foundation that will come to the aid of all manner of women, giving them a leg up or a friendly hand to turn possible ruination into extraordinary opportunity. Calamitous reversals become astounding chances healing broken lives including her own. In turn, I felt cleansed and reconstructed as I witnessed several beautiful rebirths manifest before my eyes and soul. Awesome!

Cadin's first stop is in Greensboro, Alabama, which was remarkably determined by throwing a dart at a map. She encounters a woman and her daughter plus a widow who was callously evicted from her home. At her second stop in Bogalusa, Louisiana, which Cadin also selected by dart tossing, she meets the owner of a diner serving really great food, the owner's daughter, and a fairly young woman who has been walking and hitchhiking all by herself. In both instances, the women Cadin meet need rather heavy-duty support to change their fates by taking control of their destinies. Cadin just leaps right in and helps all these woman in both locations by providing comfort and then some. Cadin is just incredible! The women in need, including the one child, are so open to Cadin's sponsorship while nevertheless being awestruck by her generosity. What a simply wondrous and sublimely uplifting reading experience. A pure winner!

With warmth and joy in my heart, I recommend this book. There certainly are some intense wrenching elements, but by and large it is the most elevating, poignantly gratifying book I have had the pleasure to read. I suggest you not miss this as it certainly is a rare gem. Par excellence!

Everything in this book happened WAY too easily. People would show up for the first time and tell their entire life story and divulge the most intimate/financial problems to complete strangers. I could not suspend disbelief for the vast majority of this book. Writing, descriptions and dialogue were mechanical to the extent that I couldn’t get into the story at all. The main character (Cadin) just rode around on her motorcycle until she would stop somewhere, have a woman tell her every financial problem she had instantly, and then she would magically fix everything in their lives for them in less than a week. She would also make demands on how things were going to go, which just felt very strange as to how it was presented. One woman lost her house, so Cadin would say “ok I’ve decided how I’m going to fix this for you without your permission or input, is that cool?” And the affected woman would say “ok that’s great thanks!” Now, I’m sure they would be thrilled to have their finances fixed easily by this money fairy. However it felt like a very simplistic way to handle extremely sensitive scenarios, which would require even a smidge of contemplation before accepting. “I have decided to do this for you, and it will be done my way, aren’t I great?”

The research done for the novel was underwhelming. The way the paperwork for the malpractice suit was handled seemed unrealistic to me. I’m not a lawyer, but I’m pretty sure you can’t just email a claim and the other party says “ok sounds good let’s settle this for a lot of money without any sort of calculation or justification for the amount.” Even the most cut-and-dry cases would require at least SOME legal legwork, and probably an actual paper trail (not email), which is why couriers work for lawyers so frequently.

Additionally, at one point Cadin goes ahead and pays for a “prepaid college plan” for one girl, and my brain said “what?” Like a gift card? Is that a thing? I don’t think that’s a thing. And she just says “by the way you’re going to LSU.” Um, the girl doesn’t even get the option of where she wants to go? At all? Not even any input whatsoever? And they go and fill in the application and suddenly that means she’s accepted. That’s not how college works. That’s not how humans work!

Tragic mistake makes her world crumble around her, to rebuild and find home may change many lives.

I was grabbed from the first chapter and my heart had quite a journey. Ali Spooner let us feel all of Cadin's pain as she mourned the loss of her partner missy. The foundation she creates and the lives she touched gave wings to her love for Missy. The many characters created in this story speak of a love and a world so beautiful. Little Lexie broke my heart each time she said goodbye to Cadin. This was a truely magical story of the resiliency of the human spirit. My heart enjoyed the journey and loved the characters dearly.

Ali tells a wonderful story of first loss, then recovery and finally love. On the way our heroine shows her loving and generous self and builds a monument for the woman she lost, that truly shines in more than just a physical way.

Attention! Spoiler:

What I enjoyed most about this great romance novel is that it tells a really heart warming story without delving into any sex, other than mentioning that it happened and the participants were happy it did.

End of spoiler!

I really enjoyed this beautiful story, five stars really aren't enough for it.

Excellent!!!

Beautifully written work about love, loss, and a journey to healing and finding a true purpose for life. Cadin’s profoundly painful loss moves her to find those in need and to make a difference in their lives. She is similar to Eli in the Cast Farm series in that they both use their fortunes in selflessly kind ways. Would that their generous spirits existed in those that have and could help others with their journeys. I heartily and enthusiastically recommend this novel and anxiously await the sequel. A very good read. Thank you Peace

Ali Spooner has penned another beautiful book.

Ms. Spooner really knows how to write wonderful relationships. The one between Cadin and the child Lexie is exceptionally sweet. Cadin also shares lovely relationships with the older ladies in the book, Ms. Betty and Sister Frances, is also beautiful. Then there is the romance between Cadin and Renee, so sweet. Just a beautiful read from beginning to end.

Another great book by Ali Spooner!

It starts out a little sad but demonstrates how friendships and love develop between people who are from different walks of life.

You cheer for Cadin to find her HEA because of what she’s gone through already. You’ll enjoy the relationship between Cadin and Lexie and how that relationship turns to a lifelong friendship.

I can’t recommend this book enough nor can I encourage you to read it, I truly don’t think you’ll be sorry.

Wow, I love this journey.

This is another amazing book by Ali Spooner. It's a heartwarming story, full of love, family and friendship. It was a great journey, a path to healing. Coming from a low point in your life to finding a new life. I loved the way that the foundation helped so many people to a better life. It's so beautifully described. I hope that there will be a sequel.

Nice read

I really enjoyed this read and loved how Cadin took a very traumatic event in her life and turned it into a positive. I didn't want it to end and think there is definitely more to the story with some of the secondary characters.

Uplifting

Great to read a story about someone making something positive out of heartbreak. It took a lot of courage for Cadin to take on the medical establishment. The finding a way to help others in need of a lift, was awesome, though emotional at times for her.
