Finding God in Silicon Valley tells how God is working in the lives of people in Silicon Valley--venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, leaders of major companies, innovators in non-profit start-ups, scientists, and technologists. You will be inspired and challenged as you read the very personal stories of their journeys. The book provides lessons for anyone who has struggled with faith issues. You will read how these leaders got beyond the trappings of financial and business success to find God. How they overcame personal struggle and even tragedy to come to know Christ. How they reconciled faith and reason and the compatibility of faith and science. And how they discovered meaning, purpose, and a calling for their lives.
I bought this book for my son's Christmas present since he is a Christian who works in the Silicon Valley. There is reference in the book to another book "Finding God at Harvard", which was written about the time that my son was attending Harvard and gave his life to the Lord there and then. There are many testimonies of people who work in the Silicon Valley and have found their calling within the business or teaching world--to be a Light to the world, an example to follow, and content with who they are in Jesus. Mr. Vaccarello did a good job of telling a quick synopsis of each person, telling the good and the bad that happened to each. There are plenty of references to other works--the Bible, other books, other comments. It is well worth the read, plus there a many references in the back of the book for further study. There is also a website https://findinggodinsiliconvalley.com/
Wonderfully encouraging book about believers living for God in Silicon Valley. After reading an excerpt of Brotopia, I wanted to find something more positive about SV. Mr. Vaccarello shares his testimony, along with many others, and how they stay true to Jesus in a culture that is saturated in living for self.
