I'll start this review from the end ... this ending! I clicked on my e-reader screen million times, just really, really wanted to miraculously be the next page... This is the first part in the new serial romance, and it really is only a prelude to this story. Thank God publication date between the parts are small!

After a large amount of alcohol she noted magnetic, very big and sexy man. Her interest is reciprocated, and the mysterious guy takes her to her home, where they spend very hot moments.
When she wakes up in the morning, and not remember much of the night is deeply shocked by the presence of a stranger man in her house. She does not have the time or desire for anything more than one night adventure. But outside came dust storm and she is shut in with a stranger in her house on indeterminate amount of time.
Determined to keep a distance and their relation to one night stand, she does not intend to succumb. I must say that he did not make it easier for her.
Final thoughts: It all looks, after all, pretty familiar. But then this mysterious man gives it color and uniqueness. From a certain point it is known that he is hiding secrets. His person is a mystery to the very end, and as I wrote at the very beginnings this for me is just a prelude to the story. Very good and intriguing prelude.
I like all their very hot moments. He has a very dirty and hot as sin mouth. There's still a lot to happen and I'm just looking forward for more, more and more.

5 Achingly Arousing Stars
Holy. Wow. This is the first book I’ve read from Cee Smith, and I am HOOKED! Hooked! Her writing? Flawless. The plot? Original and intriguing. The story? Hot, steamy and sexy. I. Couldn’t. Put. It. Down.
This book grabbed ahold of my loins from the first chapter. I was teased, taunted and seduced. And I loved every. Damn. Minute.

Yes. Please. This man is one freakin’ hot, sexy, alpha God wrapped up in a gorgeous package that I wanted to mount and devour. I wanted to dive into my kindle and wrap myself around him. Among other things...He is one dirty talker. I fell for him. HARD. Blair? LOVE. HER. She’s entertaining and funny, I loved these two characters together. The chemistry between them was amazing! The ending left me a hot mess, begging for more. I can’t wait to find out what happens with these two!
Smith’s writing is spectacular and compelling. She really is brilliant and her writing is perfection. I felt like I was riding a constant tidal wave of pleasure that left me panting and praying for more. Shut In is a short story that packs a punch and I am impatiently waiting for Shut Out, Book 2 to arrive on my kindle.

The plot is great and I loved seeing how Blaire and Joel progressed throughout. Very interesting read as well as intense.The author does such a great job of character development, writing an interesting story full of intrigue, suspence and erotic action. Blaire is an associate at a law firm and Joel...well Joel is a total mystery, and highly secretive. Blaire wakes up after spending a hot night with a sexy guy at her home, but she can't remember much. She remembers that she was drunk, but the presence of the handsome stranger in her bed raises too many questions ! Joel's secrets keep the story interesting and prepare us for unexpected twists and big surprises. The scenes are well written and things move along at a pretty fast pace. I'm really looking forward to the next book to see where things go from here.

This book is crazy.
Crazy situation.
Crazy attraction.
Crazy hot.
Blaire is a lawyer and while out with her friends one night when she spots a guy across the bar. When the guy approaches her she goes against her usually straight laced character and has a one night stand with the guy. The next morning she wakes up to an emergency bulletin announcing a freak sand storm effectively shutting her and Mr one night stand together in her house indefinitely.
We are treated to some delicious sexual tension with Blaire deciding once was enough and they are never ever ever going to do it again, and Joel deciding they definitely are. The sexy times are VERY hot and there are a few funny moments strewn in-between. Joel is a delicious alpha with a filthy mouth.
Meanwhile Blaire is working on an important case that could make or break her career and while sexy, Joel is mysterious about his life outside the walls of their temporary hideout.
It ends in a cliffy so be warned, but luckily part two is releasing on the 23rd so the wait won’t be too long!
This book was great, a short and hot little read with loads of sizzling chemistry! I definitely recommend it!

When strictly business Blaire wakes up from a one-night stand, she never envisioned being stuck with him, locked in, waiting out the storm. And although she let Joel have her body once, he’s got his work cut out for him if he wants to get back into her bed.
When a friend starting raving about this book I knew I had to read it. Then I saw the cover and I was dying to read it. Joel was this beast of a possessive man. I loved him. I loved that he broke down her walls and I loved her giving into him. I had a feeling that he was hiding something pretty big and was not too shocked at the way it ended... but it just made me want the next installment that much more!

The story started off with Blaire, a woman in her twenties working her way towards the Junior Associate position in a law firm in Vegas who woke up confused hearing an unfamiliar voice in her house from a man who looked like a Greek statue with chiseled chest and bulging thighs, where the physique could rival an MMA fighter's.
"I know it was good, but honestly can't say that I've ever fucked a woman so good she got amnesia. I guess there's a first for everything."
Just when she remembered the night out partying with friends then coming home with a man whose identity is a mystery but with body built for sex and an appetite to match whom she could not refused despite the rules and boundaries established as they were stuck together in her house because of the bad weather.

It maybe an easy read, but the uniqueness is there. So if you want something to read to free your mind and just wanted something different, this is the right book.

I spy with my little eye, something beginning with...me howling with laughter in the staff kitchen at work.
Everything about this book was great. I love intense, deep, mind twisting, change my perception of the world kind of books. Shut In is not one of those kind of books.
I also love the quick, sexy, easy reading, laugh my pants off kind of books. Shut in is definitely one of those books.
Joel - maybe it's his size (huge), maybe it's his cheeky grin (very cheeky), maybe it's the fact that I fancy the pants off him (I do) that I wanted to climb him like a monkey climbs a tree and live forever tucked under his chin. I would be perfectly happy there.
Do they have sand storms in Vegas where everyone has to stay in doors? Whether they do or whether it was a figment of Cee's imagination, it was a genius, fresh, unique idea.
My favourite quotes :
"I've never been mountain climbing." I confessed between panting breaths as I sat astride his naked body."
"Coffee for me, was like oil to the tin man - worthy of a song and dance with just a few sips."

This is the first book I have read from Cee Smith, but it certainly won't be the last. Shut In is book 1 in a serial and I loved it!! I tend to wait for the entire serial to come out, because often I find the first part is too rushed but not in this case.. I love the detailing and the story, and the chemistry is off the charts!!
Joel is hot and sexy and fun. I love how he flirts and is so sure of himself! And Damn... I really love his dirty mouth!!
Blaire, a smart and unassuming lawyer is a total vixen in the bedroom... or does Joel just bring that out in her? I think it's Joel!
Crazy circumstances have Blaire and Joel trapped together for what could be weeks. Imagine a drunken one night stand they you're shut in with? Yeah, that happens. But Joel's easy going personality make things seem so natural and I love how he just goes with it all!
As Blaire tries to resist him, they get to know each other playing games... And let's just say that his games lead to the real fun!!
There's also a great back story hear that becomes front and center... But I'll leave that for you to find out!!!
And now I absolutely cannot wait to find out what happens next, because WOW!!! That ending has me crazy!!!

I'm not sure I would have rated this book a 4-star read if it weren't for that ending. Buuuuutttt....since it did have that ending, it definitely earned it's 4-stars. Fucking Joel. Damn. I called it! Which is only somewhat satisfying.
The book is hot! It's about this quiet chick who meets the hot guy at the bar and then takes him home for a one-night stand. Mother Nature has other plans and decides that these two need a bit more time with each other. They are Shut In and have to find ways to entertain themselves. Needless to say, they have lots of sex. Lots. Of. Sex. It's hot, kinky, and Joel has one dirty mouth.
So, this is a cliffhanger, which sucks, but it's only $.99 so it isn't a big deal and it's worth the 99 pennies. As soon as I finished, I one-clicked the next book, Shut Out. I can't wait to see what happens!

This was the short first part for a new serial and a lot is squeezed into it! Blaire wakes up after a one night stand not remembering much. Joel, the man she brought home is all kinds of hot and sexy and they end up being stuck together because of a bad storm moving through the area. In addition to the page melting sex and Blaire's worries about the mysterious (and did I mention sexy?) Joel, she is also worried about a case she has been working on for six months at her law firm. The end has me desperate to find out what will happen next. Is there more to Joel than meets the eye? What will happen with Blaire's case? I'm anxious for part two!

A dust storm is moving through Vegas and everyone is to stay put. A strange voice from behind her then wants to know whats going on? Thing is .. so does Blaire. Who is this man and why is he in her house.
And that is what lies on your first couple of pages --- yup. Blaire and Joel are stuck. The nasty storm is keeping them contained together and lord its going to get crazy.
Blaire has been working for Henderson and Fitz for about six months now. The case that could open the doors wide open was one centered around the heir of the Trevaunt fortune. The heir’s girlfriend had quite a number done on her face according to the report and the EJ Trevaunt had gone missing after it happened. No one had eard from him or seen him in weeks. Lara Farrows, the girlfriend led a humbled life until meeting EJ. Mr. Trevaunt had claimed they broke up on the 12th of May and on the 15th she was admitted to the hospital with a fractured checkbone, some lacerations and bruising on her face and arms. Blaire wanted nothing more to break the case and now she was locked in her home with a stranger; a hot one she apparently had a one night stand with. But as the days drew out the one night stand turns into more …. But Blaire has a nagging feeling something isn’t right … something more is going on with Joel. She just isn’t sure what it is.
There is lots of steamy sexy time in this book giving us a build up to a major cliffhanger. It’s a quick read and you are getting introduced to the characters in release one. Don’t expect a lot of depth into the case except for the fact that Blaire is trying to balance her hot ass guest and the case. Joel is a distracting and becomes an even bigger issue as we move along the pages.
This is a good read. I hope in the next books the story doesn’t fall short and we dig into the case and whats happeneing because this has the lead in to be a great great series! Thank you Cee for the ARC! I am anxiously awaiting Book 2!

Blaire wanted nothing more to break the case and now she was locked in her home with a stranger; a hot one she apparently had a one night stand with. But as the days drew out the one night stand turns into more …. But Blaire has a nagging feeling something isn’t right … something more is going on with Joel. She just isn’t sure what it is.
There is lots of steamy sexy time in this book giving us a build up to a major cliffhanger. It’s a quick read and you are getting introduced to the characters in release one. Don’t expect a lot of depth into the case except for the fact that Blaire is trying to balance her hot ass guest and the case. Joel is a distracting and becomes an even bigger issue as we move along the pages.
This is a good read. I hope in the next books the story doesn’t fall short and we dig into the case and whats happeneing because this has the lead in to be a great great series! Thank you Cee for the ARC! I am anxiously awaiting Book 2!

What a great new serial by author Cee Smith. It is a mystery wrapped in what I would almost call a sort of romance.
Blaire is a really awesome woman who is overworked. She works all the time and hasn’t dated in a while-hasn’t had any real “action” in a while so she decides to get out and have some fun. She ends up having a one night stand with this hot guy. Weird thing is she wakes up the next day and cannot recall MUCH of anything. Her memory is all blurry and she is stuck with her one night stand in her home as emergency sirens are going off. Oh Blaire knows they slept together but she is having a hard time remembering much of how she celebrated her 21st birthday. Her mystery man whose name she found out is Joel- one hot, mystery man , ends up being stuck with her in her home because dust storms are blowing thru Vegas and supposedly all have to stay put. Until the all clear is given, Blaire and Joel are stuck together. There is tons of steamy sexual reading in this story along with suspense and mystery. Blaire was working on a case for Henderson and Fitz for some months that was going to be her best break for her and that is another layer to this story . All this adds to the layers in this story..who is Joel, what has Blaire gotten into? When is the shoe going to drop and what danger is she in and is Joel friend or foe? I loved this story and cannot wait for book 2..

Blair is a repressed workaholic and her girlfriends talk her into going out and letting loose. She drowns shot after shot which allows her inner wild child out. Taking home a one night stand and waking up not remembering is so out of the norm for Blair. Outside a terrible sand storm is brewing forcing everyone to stay cooped up in thier homes. Joel is the sexy hot stranger she brought home and now she's stuck with him for god knows how long. Poor Blair she wants to just forget what happened but Joel wants to make the best of the situation. Man this is one hot book, I'd love to be shut in with Joel. He's very mysterious, fit, sexy, cooks, and knows his way around a woman's body. Blair finally can't resist him anymore and allows herself to just enjoy. The passion between these two is off the charts hot. This book is part one of three and I'm excited because there will be more revealed about these two. I'm interested in the mystery surrounding Joel. As you read this book Cee Smith gives you clues that maybe just maybe there's more to Joel than he's letting on. I was bummed at the end but I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. If you love a quick hot serial with some mystery thrown in then 1-click this baby.

What do a one night stand, a dust storm, and a Prince Albert piercing have in common??? They all make up elements for a short tale of what happens when things don't go as planned! Joel is sexy, confident and moves and talks like he's in charge of everything! He doesn't really talk much about himself so there's this mysterious aspect to him that makes him even more intriguing. Blaire is way out of her element with him, but she's determined not to turn into mush around Joel. She has set boundaries and tries her hardest to comply. The author does a great job of laying down the foundation of what is to come. You're given just enough information to get you hooked. You do figure out how Blaire and Joel are connected, but that did not keep me from finding out how things would go down in the end. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next! I gave this exciting, plot twisting, sexy tale 4 stars!! *was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

This my first Cee Smith book and I will say I look forward to more especially to see the outcome of this story. You got me hooked that's After Dark Reads for introducing. Me to this author.
Reviewed this book for my honest opinion. I Loved the story line who wouldn't want to be stuck with a sexy ass man who can give as much as he can recieve. Blaire and Joel hit it off as well as a one night stand should be. The unexpected happened a dust stom hit LAS Vegas and they were stuck together wether they wanted to or not. I thought nothing of not knowing anything about him until literally the end when Blaire made the connection.
I'm left with a Wtf I need more of the story.
One thing I did enjoy was the descriptive sex scenes that is what I love the best from authors. Description is a key to my heart.

Wow!!!! I just loved reading this fast paced story,
Blaire brings her one night stand back home... Little she knew that she would be stuck indoors as the weather issued a warning of the storm passing through!
The chemistry between Blaire & Joel is bloody hot!!! I so need a cold shower!!!

OMFG!! If you want your juices flowing read this book!! This was my first book I've read by cee smith! What an amazing author! It takes a lot for me to read a book and not want to put it down! Joel is hot hot hot and has a major dirty mouth! Cee smith leaves you wanting more all the way through! Can't wait until the next one in a couple of weeks!

This is my first book by Cee Smith and it definitely will not be my last. This story is very well written and it drew me in from the first page. The characters are very well developed and I could help but feel very connected to the characters. I'm so glad that I picked up this book and I can't wait for the rest of this series to come out. Cee Smith you are an amazing author. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. I highly recommend this book to anyone and every one.

I received an ARC of Shut In, in exchange for an honest review.
I know a book is good when, as soon as I finish it, I'm itching for the next one. That's exactly what Cee Smith's Shut In did to me. And thankfully, with this serial, I won't have to wait long!
The first star is for the writing. I enjoyed the pace and development of the characters. Unlike some serials, which rush through the details, I felt like I got to know these characters. Or as much as Cee Smith would allow... for now. The book jumps right into the intrigue and action, but in a way that felt authentic.
The second star is for the plot. An interesting twist to throw the two main characters together, and push past the usual get-to-know-you bit into something a little more real. There's not a lot of time for BS or trying to impress someone when you're stuck together, in a relatively small space, or an unknown period of time. This got me invested in the story, and the characters, right away.
The third star is for the mystery. While there is plenty that is laid bare in their short time together, there is so much to still find out about Blaire and Joel. And I can't wait to see how it impacts their dynamic.
The fourth star is for the characters themselves. It's impossible for me to get into, let alone like, a book if I don't enjoy the characters. I want fire and silk from the people whose lives I'm peeking into. These two have it. Great banter, fun stubbornness and domineering attitude, and tenderness. I want more.
The fifth and final star is for, of course, the hot, hot sex. This book has just what I like: a lot of passion and a lot of satisfying dirty talk. Even after a hot start, Cee Smith is able to build up that slow burn again until it ignites.
I can't wait to see how this story progresses, and gets hotter, I'm sure.

I guess this is intended to be a story released in a series of short stories, the abrupt ending kind of surprised me.
Blaire is a very determined young women, she's just moved to Vegas and is working her dream job at a very reputable law firm leaving herself zero time for a social life. So two girl friends from work take her out on a mission to get her laid. After getting far too drunk at the bar, she wakes up the next morning to find out not only did she bring the God like man everyone was drooling over home last night, but according to a PSA broadcasting across every channel they are stuck in her house for the foreseeable future due to a crazy dust storm.
Not being privy to one night stands Blaire is beyond uncomfortable and does her best to not get caught up in this man, who finally introduces himself as Joel. But stuck alone in her house, with no power, limited entertainment and a man who doesn't know the meaning of personal space or how to keep his clothes on, the lack of air conditioning isn't the only thing making her hot. After a game of strip I spy and a few to many shots of whiskey neither of them can hold back from the tension and chemistry that was built that first night and has gotten worse since.
The sex is HOT, Joel is a total alpha and loves to talk dirty. And hello Prince Albert?Yes please! The sudden ending caught me off guard, I was rather caught up and didn't realize how short the book was. The build up to the ending how ever was awesome, really developing the story more then just sex and giving us a serious case of mystery. Welcome to your new addiction. I say that because by the end of this part of Shut In you will be clamouring for more. Once you pick your jaw off the ground that is.

I’m a long-time fan of the serial or breaking a book up into parts and when an author does it right it can be truly addictive. I can honestly say that this author has certainly done it right. I need the next part NOW!!!
These two characters and storyline grabbed me right from the start. Being stranded in your house with your first one night stand, who is hotter than the sun for who knows how long, can you say awkward???? Add in the fact they can hardly keep their hands off each other and things go from awkward to hot in a flash.
“Joel did that to me—made me feel alive, on edge, and filled with a need I never knew existed. It was like he was claiming my body as his, and I had no more say in how I responded than I had control over the weather.”
Have I mentioned it’s a hot read? Well it is, these two will burn up your ereader. Joel definitely knows what he’s doing in the bedroom, office, living room, you get my drift. But the story goes deeper than just sex, the author has weaved a thread that will have you desperate to find out more. I am going to stop there so I don’t give anything away.
This is the first part of three and I am in dire need of more. Cee Smith has done a spectacular job of grabbing the reader’s attention and then leaving us panting for more. Well played, very well played.
