This is the second part of a new serial romance. It begins almost where the previous ends. And if you read it you know that there was not a small cliff. In this part we learn a little bit more, and the story of Joel and Blaire develops further.

Joel's ex-girlfriend accused him of brutal beating and her law firm represents her in the case against him.
Blaire is completely terrified the situation in which she found herself. She may lose her job by consorting with the opposition and destroy her career for which sacrificed so much. She is too focused on her work, to devote it to something fleeting and determined to never privately meet with him again. No matter how fantastic were their nights together.
But Joel does not intend to give up. He will try to win her back.
Final thoughts: It's a really good middle part of series. I was a little surprised in what direction it goes. But also I would like that has happened more. And certainly I would like to know more about Joel. Because we still do not know much about him.
On this part he is trying to win her over again. With a variety of original ideas that have been funny and hot. Starting with simple flowers, to the singing telegrams and hot videos. What you may notice is that he is lonely and when hit on something valuable in his life is not going to give up. I really like him, even though seems quite soft for such a strong character. Well certainly he won me too with hot dirty talk in bed. Yes, there are some really steaming scenes.
This ends again with the cliff, but not as large as the first part. Surely I will manage to wait until December 7 to find out what happens next. Because story is moving into a more dangerous side and I really am curious what else happens. And I can not wait for their HEA.

Nefarious plots, suspicious characters, high-octane sexy times, angst and sexual tension? This book has it all.
Shut Out picks up where Shut In left off, with Blaire realising that Joel is on the opposite side of a brutal and violent abuse case her firm is handling. The plot thickens as more details of the case is revealed and things start taking a dangerous turn for Blaire, not only placing her career in danger but also her life.
I loved this instalment of the series. What I was expecting to be a straightforward forbidden love type romance has taken an unexpected turn and turned into so much more. The two are no longer locked in a house together and as other players begin to enter the story, motivations begin to blur the lines of right and wrong.
Beneath all the threats to Blaire’s career she is still trying to get over the effect Joel has had on her. She’s trying to move on and forget but Joel is absolutely not having it. He tries to win her back by any means necessary which makes for some extremely hot secret trysts and sometimes hilarious attempts by Joel to earn her forgiveness and have her give him the time of day. Blaire’s stubbornness and fear makes for some deliciously angsty reading that only serves to up the sexual tension between the two.
Joel is still as cocky as ever in his refusal to take no for an answer and his attempts at forgiveness redeemed his actions from the first book, and then some. His filthy mouth and need for Blaire made the sexy times explosive and I was hanging on his every word.
I cannot wait to see what Cee Smith has in store in the instalment. Definitely recommend this series!

Blaire and Joel’s story continues in Shut Out. Now that the storm has settled a new one is brewing. With Joel’s identity known, Blaire has to cut him out of her life and resist the attraction she feels towards him. But Joel isn’t willing to just walk away, even if it could cost her everything.
I am quickly falling in love with this story and author. I have a love/hate relationship with serials, but Cee Smith delivers big time with her Just This Once series. Paced nicely and brought to neat and clean endings that that not only gives you resolutions along the ways, but introduces the next plot twist in such an exciting way. Serial formats are not easy. It’s not just about cutting a novel into 70-100 page sections. It’s about creating a story within each installment and leaving the reader hungry for more.
I can’t wait for the next one!

I enjoyed this one more than the first because it wasn't just about the sex (shocking coming from me), there was drama and I felt that Joel wanted Blaire for more than just her vagina.

Blaire tried to keep him out of her life as it's her job and promotion that is at risk. However, no matter what she did, her body doesn't seem to coincide what her mind wants. Her feeling towards him just keeps getting stronger. Who wouldn't??? Whenever Blaire shut him off, he has that witty comeback that will get your panties soooo damn wet you need a fresh one.. And oh??? you really have to read how Joel tried to win her back Oh.My. God. What he did was a combination of funny, sweet and soooooo damn steamy...

Cee Smith book Shut Out part two was gift to me in an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am giving this book 5 stars because this book just keeps exposing so much more about Joel aka EJ and about his crazy ex-girlfriend. I had a feeling there was something more to Joel ex Lara and it turns out there is. Okay in book two you will find out just how crazy Lara is, but what I still can't wait to find out is why is she so crazy is it for money or is she just obsessed with Joel. In Shut out we get to read more about how close and how much Joel is falling in love with Blaire. Of course Blaire is also falling hard for Joel too she knows that her job is on the line, and she is trying really hard to stay away from him. But Joel knows that he wants Blaire and he will do everything to keep her. And in the end his crazy ex gives him finally what he wants which is Blaire. Unfortunately the way he gets her is not the way he wanted her. He wanted Blaire to come to him on her own freewill, but because of his ex Lara stalking him and Blaire he has to protect her in any possible way he can. This series is just getting better and better I so can't wait for the next book Shut Off. I mean the way the Author left us wondering what is Blaire going to do in the next book is blowing my mind. If you have not started this series please start it. I mean I love Cee Smith books she always knows how to keep her readers wanting more.

Quite the saucy story line this book !
Blaire works at a law firm and just getting right to the nitty gritty meets "Joel" at a club and proceeds to have ALOT of passion with him. Things are looking up ? Or maybe there was an arterial motive for Joel meeting Blaire !!!!
This is book 2 in the series and although I had not read book one, I was able to grasp right away what had transpired and I was VERY interested to see how this story would play out.
Blaire is worried to death about her fling going public and the impact this could have on her career and the case she is working. Joel well he's a bit more chilled about it all.
Full of twist and turns and UNFORTUNATELY (hence 4 Sparkley Stars from me opposed to 5) the story ends on......you've guessed it a Cliffy !!!! NOOOOOOOOO !!!
I still really enjoyed every page and I will definitely want the next book to see how the hell this story is going to end !!!

I was so anxious to read Shut Out after the way Shut In ended. I have to say, I enjoyed this second volume even more than the first! Joel, who was panty melting in Shut In was even hotter in Shut Out. I completely understand Blaire's inability to stay away from him, even though she finds out he is the LAST man she should be sleeping with. I wouldn't be able to say no to him either! I don't want to put too much about the plot in this review, because all of the twists and turns is part of what makes this serial so interesting and fun to read. I highly recommend picking up this sexy and intriguing series.

Shut Out is part two in the Just This Once series. Shut Out begins where Shut In ended. Shut In began with Blaire and Joel waking up to the reality of their one-night stand becoming a one-week stand. The bliss from the wild night of sex quickly dissipated when Blaire realized she had sex with a client. Blaire and Joel woke to a shut in. Las Vegas was under a wind storm warning informing people to remain indoors. Blaire obsessed over her time spent with Joel because he lied to her. Blaire found out her law firm was representing his ex-girlfriend. She broke rule number one.
Shout Off begins with Blaire being paranoid that people from work will find out she has been talking to Joel. Blaire does not want to lose her job.
Joel is irresistible. Blaire can no longer contain the ache that throbs between her legs. She needs Joel. When they kiss and touch it's not enough. Joel goes to any lengths to claim his prize. Joel and Blaire continue sneaking around town meeting for conjugal visits.

Oh MY!! This book is hotter than ever. This book picked up where #ShutIN left off . In #SHUTOFF, we have Blaire knowing the truth about Joel. She realizes her career could be over –Joel is someone who could ruin her career, especially now when she realizes who he is and what he is in relationship to her –The twists and turns keep coming, especially when Joel wont go away. He claims he “cares” about her but Blaire doesn’t know anymore. She is afraid to trust, doesn’t know what the truth is and when she is in danger, who can she trust ? Compared to book 1- there is this side to Joel that you get to see..this ,hmm, smoother, softer side which you really want more of-- you see why Blaire is so torn over Joel/EJ--Then you see why he keeps going back and apologizing to her and begging for another chance. And you also understand why Blaire is so wary about giving it, when there are these attempts on her life. Until Joel’s cray cray EX takes things to a new level—well then, Blaire is all ready to take a step in the right direction and believe in Joel . Oh and the sexual tension—Oh YES!!! SOOO GOOD! I cannot wait UNTIL book 3 . The edge of the seat actions that happen make me want to see certain things happen like NOW but the cliffhanger in this book means book 3 will wait until I see if Joel and Blaire will have their HEA in book 3. Cee Smith has done it again. This is another great story with awesome characters and the sexual eroticism that is so fantastic. I cannot say enough good things except I wish I knew how this ends now…

SHUT OUT picks up right where SHUT IN left off. This series is so good. So Blaire realizes that the guy she was shut in with for a week is not just Joel but E.J. Trevaunt, the defendant of the big case her firm is handling. She is afraid that if anyone finds out that she slept with the defendant it will cost her the job that is the most important thing in her life, so she immediately cuts off communication with him.
Joel goes to amazing, romantic, sexy lengths to get Blaire to see him again and she finally agrees to meet him until someone sends a secret box with the message “Is this worth losing your job over?”

WOW WOW WOW! I wasn't sure what to expect from this author but I'm blown away! However, Cee Smith has made the list of authors trying to kill me with the ending! I'm seriously dying here!
Let me start out by saying, you must read Shut In first to understand what's going on. Blaire has broken the number rule working at a law firm, consorting with the opposition. Okay, by now you've had the chance to get your head around the shocker at the end of book 1 and this picks up directly after that surprise revelation and continues to suck you further into the storyline. I called Shut In your new addiction and after inhaling Shut Out I can certainly confirm it is.
Joel and Blaire continue to stream up your ereader and holy hell that man is just........amazing. That's the only way I can describe him. In bed or out of it he's a hot commodity that let's face it, we would be reduced to a cat fight if he was real and walked off the page.
“Of course, it just so happened to be that the one person who could bring out the fun, carefree side of me would be the one person who, above all else, I shouldn't have any contact with outside of my job.”
Now that the storm has blown through and normal life can resume, Blaire and Joel realise that the storm has left more than dust and destruction behind, it's left a perfect storm of sexual attraction that can't and won't be denied no matter what's at stake.
With Blaire's job in jeopardy and Joel's ex causing trouble, you will be glued to the every page to see what happens and where the story will go next.
This storyline just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for the next part to see how it's wrapped up. Then I can immediately binge read all parts again. Yes it’s that good.

We were eagerly waiting for this book, and we were not disappointed.
We catch up with Blaire and Joel in the aftermath of the sandstorm that had them trapped together for the week.
Blaire is now aware of the full identity of the man who has shared her bed for the better part of the week.
She knows she must stay away from Joel, but her body has different ideas. This will most definitely cost her the job she loves. But should she let her bosses know the truth, that she had no idea she was falling into bed with the enemy, the man accused of domestic violence, the ex partner of their client, Lara.
Joel is persistent. He has to see Blaire again. What they shared in that one week, was more than a fling. He has never met a woman like Blaire before, and even though he knows he could jeopardise her future, he can’t seem to get through the day without thinking about her.
When Blaire is forced to take temporary leave ( after her bosses “discovered” her unprofessional conduct), Joel takes her to his place. And it’s just as well too………as someone is sending threatening mail to Blaire’s home.
It seems that fate has them “shut in”! For a second time.
Love, love, love this story line. Cannot wait for the third book.

I was so excited to read Shut Out after that ending Cee Smith left us with in Shut In and she did not disappointed with this one at all!! In fact, I enjoyed it even more than the first book. It was just a short, fantastic read and I loooved it!
Although I want to shake some sense into Blaire at times for resisting Joel, I do love her. She's stubborn and independent, but she's also smart and is getting better at letting go. I can't wait to see what she does in Shut Off!

This series just keeps getting better and better. Blaire now knows exactly who Joel is and with her law firm representing his ex (Lara), she knows she should have nothing to do with him. However, Joel is a determined man and he wants Blaire, he doesn’t care what Lara is claiming he did, he just needs Blaire to trust him. Blaire doesn’t plan on risking her career over Joel but when the choice is taken out of her hands by his ex, Joel might be the only one who can protect her. Is Joel trustworthy or is he deceiving Blaire and using his charms to keep her in his bed? Is Lara the one who really is terrorizing Blaire? This series definitely keeps you guessing and I can’t wait to read the next story and see how things turn out. I love being able to picture what I’m reading and when it comes to this series being able to picture what you read will definitely have you wanting more. I recommend this series to anyone looking for a good suspense filled with betrayal, deceit and a good dose of steamy sex scenes.

I really liked this book! Just as much as the first one in the series. While Joel and Blaire were forced to stay indoors through the whole first book, I liked that we got to see how they interacted outside in the real world.
In Shut In I didn't really care for Blaire's friends. Maybe because we didn't see much of them. I did end up liking them in this one. They proved to have Blaire's back through everything and really care for her.
Cee Smith has become one of my favorite authors who write steamy sex scenes. They're so hot and well done after you read them you're going to want to change your underwear. ;)
I'm really looking forward to reading the final installment in the series. Especially considering how the series is taking a more of a suspenseful turn. I'm really hoping Joel and Blaire get their HEA.

Joel was all grown up Boy Scout in Shut In, a bit Bear Gryls. All that preparing food and water. In Shut Out, he mellows a bit, becomes a little more romantic. The man of the grand gesture and OH MY! One of those gestures - I want to buy it! I want to find it on Tumblr and watch it on repeat.
Blaire struggles with her conscience. Work or sexy as sin man mountain. Tough. Tough choice. Hell no. I want to climb that man mountain, stick a flag in it and claim it as mine whilst singing God Save The Queen.
Shut Out didn't have the same comedic value as Shut In but, it added more strings to the plot and the sexiness was still off the charts. I've never been to Vegas. I've never been to the US but this book made me want to go so I can have a lock in with Joel.

I give it to Cee Smith...this book takes off exactly where Shut In left off.... This appreciate, many dont do that.
Blaire, after learning Joel is the defandant in a law suit her firm is bringing, decides she can not see him any more due to conflict, but that doesn't stop Joel from trying to get to her.... I have to say he has a couple fun and inventive ways to break down the walls she has built. These two never seem to get enough of each other, so there is a lot of time spent in the bedroom...so to speak. The story is coming together well especially when The ex-girlfriend comes into play...
Looking forward to the last installment.

We are welcomed back to Vegas. We are welcomed back to Joel aka Ej Trevaunt & Blaire's lives. Life after the storm. Things go back to normal for them. Or so they thought. We are introduced a little more about Kerri & Piper in this book. We learn more about Lara the girl going after Joel for his money ( That is what I believe). Blaire starts to receive passages from a mystery person and also Joel. Laura is out for revenge. Blaire as an independent strike to her. I enjoyed reading this second book as much as the first one. ☆

Wow, a great hot read. I am really liking the writing. Not too much repetitiveness. Even after reading the first in the series, I didn’t feel line she retold too much. The story is an easy believable read. It will keep you toasty warm on a cold night.

In the second book in this series, the intensity, suspense and chemistry all get turned up a notch. Nothing like a psycho ex to make things a little more interesting. Add in some sensual feels and I was totally delighted. In the first book of this series my favorite thing was Joel's dirty mouth. Well, I'm officially nominating Joel Trevaunt for the Most Creative Dirty Talker award. I totally dig it when the dirty talk is refreshingly creative and exciting. Turns out Joel is a bad influence because Blaire seems to have picked up this habit as well. You go girl!
