I've used this book off and on throughout the past few years and I can say that although many items within have evolved tech-wise (nearly every item located in the electrical section) this book can still help. Most recently I helped diagnose a friend's vehicle using this book (it was the distributor cap)! It is an interesting trip through the past to see just how far our everyday household items have evolved or have been supplanted by better technology.
This book is amazing!! If you've ever wanted a book that would teach you how to fix everything from books to electronics, appliances, cars, and engines. This is a great book that teaches you not only how to take care of your stuff but also shows you how it works. I love looking through the car section as it taught me so much, and I love seeing how each piece connects to another to create one complete object.
I bought this book when I was 17. And I had became my parents' handyman thereafter :) It's an easy book to read, full of step-by-step illustrations. More than 30 years later, I still find this book is a must-have in all households.
