Sienna Whitfield never dreamed that using her photography blog for a social experiment would cause so much trouble—or be so painful. She might have a broken rib and a broken camera, but at least her mom is finally letting her date Lee, the guy of her dreams. Maybe it was worth it. Too bad some problems never go away—especially since new ones are even more complicated. And dangerous.
(4.5 Stars) You definitely need to read Candid before reading this one, as it picks up right where Book 1 ends. If you don't mind knowing what happens next, continue on.
Sienna is continuing on with her photography dream and now has her mom's permission to date her dream guy, Lee. I love the way their relationship progresses and the way they each look out for the other. They are a great compliment to each other and they have a fantastic chemistry. I love their parents and groups of friends, and the way their lives all mesh together.
Sienna is still a little impulsive and sometimes hides things from Lee because he is very protective of her. He's such a great gentleman and is pretty near perfect. With phenomenal talent, good looks, and a way of promoting loyalty and friendship, he's got a lot going for him and has a lot of big choices about his future to make.
I became fully invested in this story, feeling like I was one of the characters. There is a mystery/suspense element to this book that really brings a new element to the series, climaxing in a very intense situation. I'm crossing my fingers that there's more to come because I wasn't done with these characters yet and don't want to leave them behind.
The only little issue I had was with some editing. I normally blow things like this off, but there is a character, Riley/Rylie, who has her name spelled one way or the other interchangeably and it was a little confusing, as I kept thinking there was a new character.
Content: swoony romance (there are some steamy kisses, a situation that almost gets out of hand, but stops, and a near attack); some violence (fights, mainly). I would consider it clean.

I was glad when I finished the first book that I already had this book downloaded and ready to read. Focused picks up right where Candid ended, and all of our favorite (and not favorite) characters from the first book are back! This book was more intense than I was expecting - Sienna has taken her ability to get into trouble to a new level!
Sienna is really busy with her photography and Lee is really busy with basketball season and meeting with recruiters... They barely have time for each other. When her friend Parker is being framed for a series of robberies, Sienna can't help getting herself into deep, deep trouble to help him out. Lee is distracted with basketball, but not too distracted to figure out that Sienna is in bigger trouble than she is admitting.
After 18 years her dad has shown up to get to know her. She doesn't trust him, but she is more than fair to him and gives him a chance to get to know her better. Her mother is openly dating Alex Greeley now and is chilling out with her over-protectiveness.
[Side note: I thought the Prom was a little weird - I never went to a Prom (gasp!), and I'm not even a little sad about that - but even I know that Prom is a big deal. And I couldn't believe how much extra stuff was going on during the Prom.]
Content: Clean, there was a situation where the kissing got heavy, but they dialed it back before anything happened, there was some violence at the end Source: Review Copy (opinion is 100% my own)
I loved reading more about Sienna and Lee and their families and friends. Sienna's deadbeat dad shows up in this story, wanting to meet the daughter he'd abandoned before her birth. This book adds mystery to the romance, plus life decisions for the main leads. Sierra is a smart and talented girl who values her friends and family. Her relationship with Lee is solid, and it was refreshing to read about their struggles and values and choices. Young people with patience, wisdom, and self-control are appealing and relatable. I only wish I could read about their college years and eventual wedding! Thank you, Ms. Pennington, for another excellent read. :-)
YA romance. This is the sequel to Candid. It follows Sienna and Lee through the rest of their senior year where trouble still seems to follow Sienna, no matter how hard she tries to escape it. Caleb Murphy still holds an intense grudge against her from the Homecoming fiasco in the last book, and now her friend, Derek, seems to be in trouble as well. Her relationship with Lee has picked up in pace and intimacy, and it’s hard to stay within the bounds they have both set for themselves to stay chaste. It was a riveting sequel in this coming of age story, watching these characters grow as they make choices about their future happiness. I liked it a lot. The only thing that could have made it better was more of a conclusion. It did conclude, but I would have liked to see more wrap up into the future for Sienna and Lee. ***I received a copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review.
I liked this book as much if not more than the first book. I liked that in this book I get see Lee's point of view too. I loved the relationship between Sierra and Lee. They were very protective of each other and so happy to be together but still able to be apart and be their own individual person. The mystery behind who was trying to frame Parker made the book more exciting. I really enjoyed this book and would love to read more with theses characters in it. I highly recommend this book. It has great characters and a great message.
I had the opportunity to read this before it was released. . . and I was very excited to see the storyline continue. I loved the first book. The second continues right where the first book left off. So you'll want to read Candid first! It's full of excitement and twists. It was a good book!
