Pretty weird and trippy book. Quite liked the writing and it made me nostalgic for Edinburgh in a weird way. The ending was a bit frustrating and was pretty dated in parts.
Really enjoyed this. Liked the twist and supernatural element. Don't want to say too much but it's the first book in a long time where I have been actively eager to find out what happens next and genuinely looking forward to reading. has a good tension and teases you along like any good thriller I've watched on TV. Must read more of this type of thing.
A middling crime novel told through the well worn literary device of an incarcerated man's own account of the series of murders of which he is accused. The particular circumstances are at first interesting but the story is not told with enough energy, until the last couple of chapters, and then there is a interruption of the narrative, that seems like a rushed attempt to finish a story that was rambling out of control before a deadline.
