This is not as epic as the past few volumes, and the art feels a bit rushed compared to previous volumes as well. This story includes Kriss of Valnor, but she seems to be drawn a bit off model. Overall, this is not the strongest volume of Thorgal.

Thorgal freshly walks his lone road but his honest and trusting character is again in danger. I enjoyed this story except for the main part - again some fraud individual tricks/forces himself to the role of sovereign and only Thorgal alone can stop that. And the reappearance of Kriss of Valinor doesn't bring me joy either. Her solemn role to be a tricky and mischevious element to complicate things for Thorgal (and his naivety) is starting to be annoying. The overall quality of storytelling (and art) is not diminished here, but there ale elements which I personally dislike, so I must go down in rating. And I thought this day will never come.

I know it's not the first issue in the series, but I always thought that separate comic book issues from a longer series should be able to stand on their own too. With this one, the art was good but I didn't really enjoy the story or the characters, so my rating is just okay.

PT Tenho sentimentos mistos em relação a este. É daqueles livros que oscilam entre uma classificação alta de 3 estrelas e uma baixa de 4 estrelas. Embora não esteja entre as melhores aventuras de Thorgal, ainda tem os seus momentos memoráveis.

Desta vez, Thorgal parte sozinho—deixou Aaricia e as crianças para trás para garantir a sua segurança.

Nesta aventura, ele encontra outro artefacto perdido do seu povo e reencontra um rosto familiar que nunca esperaria ver novamente.

Dois novos personagens, Shenko e Floriane, fazem a sua estreia. Embora possam parecer pouco relevantes por agora, tenho a sensação de que terão um papel mais importante no futuro.

No geral, continua a ser uma leitura sólida.

EN I have mixed feelings about this one. It’s one of those books that hovers between a high 3-star and a low 4-star rating. While it’s not among the best Thorgal adventures, it still has its memorable moments.

This time, Thorgal is venturing alone—he has left Aaricia and the children behind for their safety.

In this adventure, he comes across another lost artifact of his people and reunites with a familiar face he never expected to see again.

Two new characters, Shenko and Floriane, make their debut. Though they might seem insignificant for now, I have a feeling they’ll play a more important role in the future.

Overall, still a solid read.

Depressed by his terrible fate which brings danger to wherever he is and concerned for his family Thorgal leaves them and goes away.

Soon he stumbles upon another Tyrant who has a mysterious weapon that shoots the sun's rays and a mob that hides in the forest and fights against the Tyrant.

As he witnessses each side we meet again the vile Kriss of Valnor

It's very interesting to see how Van Hamme manages to bring in the characters, things and link the storylines to one another as in this album - we are reminded of Qa arc extensively

Thorgal nadal bywa niewiarygodnie sprawny (odbił pocisk małym nożem), a jednocześnie strasznie naiwny. Bohaterka, o której wszyscy myśleli, że nie żyje, wraca niemal zza światów. Nie pierwszy raz trzeba zawalczyć ze złym przywódcą, a w tle pojawiają się bohaterowie czyści i niewinni. Jest tu sporo thorgalowych schematów. Od początku było wiadomo, że gościnni gospodarze zdradzą, bo byli niewiarygodnie brzydcy. Kompan - więzień - zginąć też musiał, każdy kto przeczytał wcześniej choćby kilka zeszytów, przeczuwał to od początku. Aż dziw, że się to jakoś trzyma kupy, ale się trzyma

Dove Thorgal combatte da par suo un prepotente che sfrutta un'arma aliena per raggiungere un alone di invincibilità e farsi temere da tutti. Ma soprattutto dove il Nostro incontra di nuovo la donna che lo ama ma non può essere da lui ricambiata, almeno al momento: Kriss di Valnor. Al solito, bellissimo numero, come bellissimo è il rapporto fra i due.

L'album le moins bon de ce que j'ai lu de la série Thorgal à ce jour. L'histoire personnelle de Thorgal avance un peu, on assiste au retour d'un personnage clé mais je me doutais un peu de son identité avant son apparition. Donc pas beaucoup de surprises mais ça se lit tout aussi vite (surtout dans l'avion quand on a 5h à tuer) !!!

Kriss van Valnor was duidelijk een te interessante schurk om helemaal af te schrijven, maar toch voelt haar terugkomst nogal geforceerd en ongeloofwaardig aan. Het plot van haar en Thorgal wordt verrijkt met een welkom subplot van twee kinderen, die enige lucht geven aan een album dat weer van moord en geweld aan elkaar hangt, iets wat inmiddels nogal vermoeiend begint te worden.

Une aventure sympathique avec rébellion contre un seigneur violent, deux jeunes enfants tout mignons et un personnage qui revient pour régler ses affaires. Sympa mais sans plus, je préfère les tomes dans d'autres mondes ou avec de la magie ce qui permet des dessins vraiment beaux.

A bearded Thorgal on his wanders is enslaved by a tyrant with a metal hand that can fire blasts of energy. When Thorgal meets with the rebels, he finds an old frenemy among them. I always love the John Ridgwayesque art, but I prefer the more imaginative and wildy fantastical stories in the series.

Quelle queen. Toujours un plaisir d'admirer les dessins de Rosinski. Cet album nous mène vers l'Arc "Shaigan" que j'ai décidé de relire suite à la parution... de l'album homonyme (septembre 2024).

This is not the most memorable of stories. Thorgal needs to escape a sadistic ruler with a very special weapon. The series takes some time for character development otherwise not much is going on.

I very much enjoyed this- it stands out as the best Thorgal that I've read (out of maybe five). There's action, intrigue and even grade-school age romance!

I never intuited, til this title, that Thorgal is totally hunked out. When he spent long periods of time in his thong-like banana hammock underwear I finally got the message. The ladies over there actually read this stuff and I'm sure he's a huge hit with the homosexuals while over here he would only be read by the latter.

Rosinski is always tremendous but loses notable greatness in detail from the shrinking by Cinebook.

Prolog, nowego podcyklu w którym Thorgal podejmuje bezsensowna decyzję by zostawić swą rodzinę, by nie ściągać na nich kłopotów. Mimo powrotu Kriss de Valnor, ten album jest o klasę gorszy od wcześniejszych. Przyzwoite czytadło, lecz nic więcej.
