Christians have often wondered about what might take place at the end of time, the end of history as we know it. To answer their questions, they have turned to Scripture and studied the many texts that deal with the es- chata , especially the Book of Revelation. Here, Bishop Gerasimos of Abydos offers his reflections on some of these texts and the Tradition of the Church concerning the 'last things ' and the Kingdom of God to come.
I was intrigued to hear what an Eastern Orthodox eschatology might look like. Turns out it’s not that different from the best Protestant eschatology. But maybe good Protestant eschatology isn’t all that common. Maybe a more detailed Orthodox eschatology would feel stranger. But a basic New Testament eschatology shouldn’t be that hard. This little book shows that it isn’t.
Another great book which is not base on this current eschatological trend among the Protestants. It is base on the Traditional teaching of he Orthodox Church.
Not compatible with the left behind non-sense and such perspectives. But it is very centered, honors the historical teaching of the Church, insightful, and simple for readers, a new believer or an inquirer of the faith will actually gain perspective instead of confusion.
