Kind of a mixed bag in terms of useful information for myself. Some material is also out of date since the book was published in 1995, though I suspect some was out-dated even then. I thought parts were not organized well and the authors were overtly biased against some types of interpretive activities.
Excellent Book! It's thick and texty like a college textbook--almost an encyclopedia. The authors (3) educate their readers on various facets of interpretation...the kind where one explores and explains cultural, natural and historic exhibits. The book goes from basic definitions through principles and forms of interpretations to interpretation management. When it comes to interpretation, this is THE book. It's part of the literature review for National Association of Interpretation's Certified Interpretive Guide program and a great reference.
