Read some books to grandkids and counted in Goodreads goal. 2020 was quite a year and found I couldn't focus on reading for several weeks. This is another delightful Christmas story. The three year old was especially enamored with pig family as she is really "into" families right now. Delightfull illustrations and story.

A charming story of a child sharing Christmas with a grumpy neighbor.

This is one of our favorite Christmas picture books! The length is perfect for four to five-year-olds and up. It's not preachy but very sweet and cozy.

On their way home from getting their Christmas tree, the pig family comes upon Grumpy Gramps and notices his home is not at all prepared for the holiday. Young Charlie pig worries if Christmas can come if Grumpy Gramps is not prepared. He soon sets out making a wreath for Grumpy Gramps. Charlie leaves the wreath on the steps and dashes away, but the next day he see the wreath grandly displayed on Grumpy Gramps' door. Charlie next prepares a tree and goodies. Charlie isn't quite as timid leaving these offerings on Grumpy Gramps' steps. Indeed, for the first time in a long time Grumpy Gramps' house is lit up at Christmas. And for Charlie, a special visitor arrives with a sled of his very own.

A great story highlighting the importance of giving during the holidays. Charlie embodies character in giving without expecting anything in return.

Again, illustrations were better than the story.
