To Love a Wolf by Paige Tyler is the fourth book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team paranormal romantic suspense series. Set in contemporary times in Dallas, Texas, this novel features Landry Cooper and Everly Danu.

The Special Weapons and Tactics team are members of the Dallas police force. They tend to be secretive, but they’re also well-liked by the citizens of Dallas and its politicians. This one starts with Cooper in line at the bank when there is an attempted robbery. Before the attempt, he meets Everly and they seem to immediately connect. Meanwhile there’s a bomber in Dallas as well.
As much as Cooper wants to share his secret with Everly, he’s not sure he can do it. When her family discovers Cooper is a werewolf, her four brothers will do anything to be keep them apart. Everly isn’t about to let them tell her who she can love until she discovers what Cooper is. Can they find their happily ever after?

This story is action-packed and filled with several twists and turns to keep you engaged. I was hooked from the startling prologue to the very end. Tense moments and great world-building and characterization kept this reader rapidly turning the pages. The author does a great job of delivering exciting scenes, as well as some emotional ones. The paranormal elements are used to create conflict and drama for the couple, but they go beyond that. It’s also interesting to see how the supernatural community exists alongside the human world.

Once again, this book delivers on escapism through instant attraction, friendship, found family, and trust. There are a few steamy scenes in the second half of the book and it is a rapid romance as one expects with a fated-mates story.

Overall, this is a briskly paced and suspenseful novel that’s full of danger, action, and a sense of urgency. If you enjoy entertaining paranormal romantic suspense novels, then I recommend you check out this series.

I purchased a copy of this novel. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own. This book was originally published on June 07, 2016.

All of the books in Paige Tyler’s SWAT series have been über edgy because of the characters’ high risk jobs, but as an explosives expert, Landry Cooper raised the bar even higher. TO LOVE A WOLF kicks off with a flashback to the incident that ended his military career (and turned him into a werewolf), moves on to a bank robbery where he meets the One, and then launches into the main plot which involves a serial bomber.

It’s amazing how many offshoots an author can craft from a seemingly simple baseline. I’d originally doubted these novels’ longevity because in my opinion the story lines involving hunky alpha werewolf cops were limited compared to the bevvy of potential sexual positions. Tyler proved otherwise by infusing her titles with protagonists whose complex backgrounds, varied personalities, and unique romances keep things hot.

In previous installments, SWAT’s classified nature has either been a secret waiting to be sprung on an unsuspecting mate or a case of like speaks to like, however in this particular instance it was Everly’s family who’s in the know which added yet another layer of intrigue to this series’ coffers. It brought the formerly subtle paranormal elements of this world to the fore, and also led to an expansion of the mythology.

It was delightful seeing the team member that everyone normally turns to for advice struggling to come of up with some pearls of wisdom suitable for his own situation. I enjoyed Cooper’s lightheartedness, hero-like qualities, and learning the more technical side of his branch of law enforcement. Danu’s complicated past made her a challenge to woo; I also liked her spirited nature, and her creative side. Another perfect match!

TO LOVE A WOLF or not to love a wolf—what a silly question!

This is one novel that will leave you all hot and bothered! Tyler cranks up the chemistry throughout as her larger than life characters battle life and death situations amidst the wonders of falling in love. The plot was intricately crafted and the wonders of the werewolf world really shone. I love how Tyler explains the inexplicable in ways that allow you to picture it happening right next door to you. As exciting and fast paced as this novel is, Tyler also definitely had me in tears more than once. Emotions are ramped up as characters battle coming to grips with their new realities.

As exciting as the plot of this novel was, the characters were even better. Landry’s alpha personality drew me in from the first moment that I met him. He is not the type of character that you can ignore. Everly’s heart and her definite stance, knowing her own mind, was fantastic. Everly’s family was definitely an unexpected twist in this cast. Their prejudices and overbearing natures were the exact opposite to the SWAT team’s personalities yet at the same time, their caring and love for family can’t be mistaken.

This was a fantastic addition to Tyler’s SWAT series that is a must read for anyone who enjoys high energy suspense and some drool-worthy shifters.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Cooooooooooper!!! Wolftastic! Tyler rocks the shifter world with her team of sexy alpha werewolves. To Love a Wolf will get your pulse pounding for all kinds of delicious reasons. Action packed and sexy as all get out.

The quick of it is that Cooper? Well he doesn't do anything the normal way. Including meeting The One. Yep. He meets his future lady love...in the middle of a bank robbery. lol And their whirl wind romance only gets more and more exciting from there. Bombings, protective siblings and scorch the sheets chemistry...yeah, things are getting interesting.

I loved these two! I've been smitten with Cooper from the very start. Charming, sexy and just lust-able. The man has moves inside and outside of the bedroom and holy heck is he intense! Loved it! And Everly was just lovely. She's artistic, kind, and goes after what she wants. They were SO fun together. Things move crazy fast but it somehow suited them. From the very start their relationship was just...intense. The attraction, the chemistry, the bond that formed between them. Some silly and some very serious moments really made these two and their connection feel honest and real.

Now the heat. Yeah, these two do not lack in that department. They're electric and once they finally do hit the sheets... you better hold on because they don't hold back and it's spectacular!

There was a bit of suspense and action in regards to Cooper's job and trying to track down a bomber and that kept things moving along too.

All in all? Another superb romance from Tyler. Soul satisfying romance and curl your toes sexy...To Love A Wolf is a must read romance.

Please see reviews for books one & two in the SWAT series as that's basically how I felt about book four. Which is an extra disappointment after how much I enjoyed book three. I'd thought we'd turned a page here, Tyler, what the hell.

Great hero. Mostly interesting background thrilling plot. Decent-ish heroine. This time it was her backstory that added to the werewolf folklore/new info.. even if she didn't know it at the time. But it was mostly the same ol' cheese as before -- and I mean that literally. Sometimes I see almost the same passages or exchanges, almost word for word, despite the change-up in couples. How do you spell formula? B-O-R-I-N-G.

I have one more of these to get through before I'll be taking a bit of a break from the series.

OH HELL YES!!!

I love Paige Tyler's SWAT series (especially those delicious men/werewolves!) and I think every book has been awarded 5 stars from yours truly.... If this one could be awarded more, I'd dam well give them!!!

Cooper is amazing and Everly suits him down to the ground! The couple are possibly my favourite of them all now!

This book was straight off into the story line, no hanging around, no creeping up to that falling for the 'one' business, it was an immediate go from the very beginning and I loved it!!

Another great book and one that has left me, as usual, wanting more! Roll on the next release!

You wouldn’t believe my excitement when I learned that TO LOVE A WOLF was going to be Cooper’s book. He made such a lasting impression in the last book that I was thrilled to know that he was going to be getting his own happily ever after.

Now I’ve always been a fan of Paige Tyler’s writing style. The camaraderie between the characters paired with the fast-paced action and suspense makes for a very easy read. I can sit down and easily devour a book in a couple of hours and that was certainly the case with this book. TO LOVE A WOLF definitely starts off with a bang. I just love being in Cooper’s head. He’s sweet and charming but also wildly protective too.

But when he is caught in the middle of a bank robbery, his aggressiveness gets the best of him. He effectively shuts down the bank robbers but his expert precision and strength is caught on camera, making officials wonder how a man is able to throw someone that far. What they don’t know is that Cooper is one of many werewolves that make up the SWAT team.

It’s at this bank robbery that he also meets Everly, an unsuspecting woman who becomes enthralled by Cooper’s charm and good looks. Right before the shots are fired, she manages to get his number. But she’ll never know what their first date will be like unless she can find a way to survive.

I liked Everly but I didn’t completely fall in love with her. And to be honest, I’m not sure why. She’s a sweet girl but something about her didn’t come across as genuine. I felt like the way that she and Cooper bantered with one another was a little forced, maybe a little rehearsed. It didn’t have that usual easiness that often translate to genuine chemistry.

Also, I wasn’t a fan of how Cooper’s therapist was portrayed. As someone who studied Psychology, I often feel like authors never truly get it right. This just wasn’t my favorite part of the book.

So all in all, this book turned out to be a little different than I expected, but I do think Paige Tyler is still an excellent writer. If you’re a fan of wolves, hot romance and thrilling suspense, you’re guaranteed to love SWAT.

Everly finds herself in danger while working a a bank teller. But Cooper is in line and is a SWAT member and also a werewolf so he can sense that something bad is about to go down. Cooper is attracted to Everly right away and has an overpowering urge to keep her safe so when the bank robbers try to use Everly as a hostage, putting her in even more danger, Cooper let's his inner wolf come forward enough to stop the robbers. But just because he didn't transform completely doesn't mean that him being able to throw a fully grown human through a window will go unnoticed by his superiors.

Since Everly also feels a pull towards Copper, when they decide to start dating, the pull for both of them is very strong. It's not long before Everly wants to bring Cooper over to meet her father and brother's. We learn that Everly's mother was killed by someone when Everly was just a child. Things seem to be going really well and her family seemed to like him and then the next minute, out of nowhere they want her to stop seeing him. It was pretty easy for me to see what happened to make them feel that way but Everly was clueless and so was Cooper until the brother's let him know what's going on.

All the while the family drama is making it hard for Cooper and Everly to see each other, there's also someone making bombs and setting them off. Swat is hot on the trail on the bomber and there's a great twist with this storyline.

I enjoyed this book very much.

Thanks to NetGalley, Paige Tyler and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This story starts out with a bang, literally. I loved the prologue which showed Cooper in the Army where he was almost killed by a bomb. The bomb trauma turned him into a werewolf. This scene pulls you into Cooper's life and has you immediately vested in him. Then you're immediately pulled into another high drama situation where he meets "the one".

The plot of the books was really good as Cooper is helping the FBI find a bomber who has had access to military grade C-4. I also really liked the cause of the separation between Cooper and Everly. The monster (a really bad guy) in Everly's family was a werewolf and therefore their entire family is against them. This makes the hurdle for Every and Cooper to cross seem real and not contrived and I thought it was a really good twist in the book.

I have been looking forward to Cooper's story and I really liked the start of this book and I liked both the bomb plot and the romance plot, however...I know howevers are never good. I'm going against the rave reviews as this story didn't work for me. I wanted it to, but there were so many little things chapter after chapter that didn't work that it offset all the positives. This is where personal likes and dislikes really can impact a reader. These pet peeves may not be yours and if they are not, you will probably like the story more than I did.

My issues:

The story hits the rinse and repeat stage. There's a little too much "he's so hot" and "she's so hot" in the first 1/3 of the book. Some people really like the mental stage of oohing and aahing, but I'm not a fan. I like just enough to get "why" they think this way but not so many times that it feels repetitious. There was a particular line in the book that just really got under my skin. When Everly is debating her feelings about Cooper she has the following thought:

"She couldn't be in love. She and Landry haven't even slept together yet!"

I know this is an insta-lust/love book, but I really don't believe that love is dependent on sex. To me this sounded slutty. A guy has to perform in bed before you can be in love? The reverse that you don't have sex until you are in love, I can respect. I can only hope this line got pulled in final production...

When Cooper goes to meet Everly's family for the first time he's inundated with a large group including extended family of cousins. But if Everly's family moved to Texas from France after her mother's death, I was amazed that there were so many cousins living in Texas. It was like the entire extended family uprooted and moved. Seemed odd or maybe I missed something.

I'm not cool when authors attempt to make the MC look smart by making the other guy look stupid. At 45%, Cooper is jumping in because the FBI guys were too stupid to think bad guy bombers/explosive dudes might leave a bomb for cops. This didn't work for me because it felt contrived by breaking and removing FBI protocol and inserting stupidity. And then only the SWAT team can come up with thoughts and the FBI just nods stupidly. Why can't there be shared ideas which is more realistic. Or if SWAT/Cooper has the edge, then base it on their enhanced werewolf senses, not on making the other party look stupid. In fact the SWAT team one upping the FBI seemed to be a consistent theme throughout this book.

At this point I've hit multiple frustration points and I've been totally pulled me out of the story. So I preceded to pin some jewelry to my Pinterest boards to get over my frustration. Yeah Pinterest and I'm back to reading!

However, I still kept hitting frustration points:
A running mini-van for a get-away was just too convenient, eye-rolling and contrived.

Cooper referred to Everly's brothers as the "brothers stupid" which downplayed the roll they were playing to protect Everly from what they viewed as monsters and turned them into a Keystone Cops farce. By downplaying their position it als0 downplayed the "separation" between Cooper and Everly.

Even in the paranormal world of werewolves, there has to be some level of reality. Surviving a 10 story fall from a building; I just couldn't suspend disbelief.

I loved Cooper in the previous books in this series and was so disappointed that in his own story Cooper withheld info from the investigation and therefore puts other people's lives at risk. He's not seeming very honorable now. (Ouch.)

The end seemed rush with almost all the issues brushed under the table. I think Ms. Tyler hits the right note for some readers of werewolf romance, I unfortunately needed something more between a great start and a what felt like a rushed finish. I will continue reading her work as some of her other books have been good reads for me and I like her writing style; just this one was a disappointment. 2.5 Stars rounded up....

This series is on fire. Each new entry is highly anticipated and does not disappoint. With this go-around we get the story of SWAT team member, Landry Cooper, and a new face on the scene, artistic Everly Danu. Things start off with a bang and end in an adrenaline rush to satisfy any book lover of paranormal romantic suspense.

This is book four in the SWAT series and I suppose it can be read standalone or out of order (if you don't mind some series mini-spoilers), but my suggestion is get this gang of Alpha Wolves and their romances in order.

Cooper just wants to get his check cashed and head out on his merry way and wouldn't you know it, everyone and their cousin is doing their banking business at the same time. But hello, things are looking up when he starts chatting up the pretty woman in front of him. He no sooner gets to the dinner date invitation and all hell breaks loose. The bank is being robbed.

Everly can't believe her good luck to encounter the cute, hot police guy and he wants to take her to dinner. Then she is thanking her lucky stars because he's the whole reason she is alive and unharmed when an armed robber grabs her as a hostage. Landry's a hero and she is excited to know that he might be interested in something more than a dinner date. Finally, the perfect guy that she can take home to her overprotective dad and brothers, right?

Cooper isn't sure if Everly is The One, but he sure wants to find out. He enjoys time with Everly even as he works with the FBI to locate a bombmaker and stop him before he detonates another one. At some point, he will have to figure out how to share with her his furry secret and hope she can accept all of him.

Alright, so Landry Cooper has been a strong and fun secondary character through the whole series. He's helped the other couples find The One and he's actually open to the idea for himself even if he won't let his hopes get up. I found Landry a refreshing breath of fresh air since the MO of so many action Alpha heroes is to have commitment issues and denial in their thinking. Not this guy. He's friendly, open, and willing to take a chance on love. No brooding tendencies and he's open for communication- okay maybe not with the observant shrink he is forced to see after the robbery. Now he does have to work in how to share he's a werewolf, but even then, it's a timing thing.
Everly is also a light and easy heroine. She's had a sad event in her past and she has some overprotective relations, but she's sensible and passionate. Perfect for Landry. Loved the slow-burn relationship building between this pair and the fun they have together.

Now does this mean its a boring story because there is little internal angsty conflict in the romance? Not hardly!
There is plenty of external and even a different type of internal conflict to keep the reader captivated. There is the investigation into the bombing that Landry is part of and the situation with Everly's brothers, but Landry is facing the disillusionment that comes when a respected colleague might not be the person he thought.

The inclusion of the series cast of characters with updates on the previous couples and a resolution for a side couple was an extra slice of lovely.

All in all, another addictive addition to the series and a new favorite couple for me. I can't recommend this series enough for those who enjoy the blend of romantic suspense and paranormal romance.

My thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

They meet in the middle of a bank robbery where Everly Danu is being held hostage by one of the robbers. Landry Cooper is trying to figure out how to save her without letting the world know that he is a werewolf. In fact, all of the members of the Dallas PD SWAT team are werewolves.

Landry worked disarming explosives in the army until a bomb exploding too near to him caused him to be medically discharged. Now he's with SWAT.

Everly is an artist who is self-employed. She is the youngest child of her family and she has four older and very over-protective brothers and a father who is still treating her like she's five.

The two hit it off immediately. Landry is wondering if she is The One that all werewolves dream about - the one who is the other half of their soul. All Everly knows is that she has never met a man that she liked more and felt more connected to. The two are busy building their relationship all the while there are a series of bombs being set around Dallas - bombs made of missing military plastic explosives. And things don't go at all well when Everly introduces Landry to her family. They hate him and forbid her to have anything to do with him. In fact, her brothers attack him.

This was an exciting romance with just enough spiciness. The mystery offers lots of chances for both Landry and Everyly to be heroes. I also liked catching up with favorite characters from earlier books in this series.

3.5 stars, ARC Review

I like this SWAT series for the same reason I enjoy the Marvel movies. Simply put, they are fun. The heroes are not infallible, but they always find their true North. I particularly enjoyed this book because the hero and heroine are likable. Cooper discovers he is a werewolf after a horrific bomb explosion nearly kills him while he is serving in the military. Since joining Dallas PD SWAT, he is the one people seek out when they want to talk. He's level headed and mature. Everly is an artist and all around nice girl (with 4 overbearing brothers). Her mother was killed when Everly was young and she bore witness to her mother's murder. I think Everly's three best features are her name (I think it's refreshingly unique) and the fact that she is sweet and a little naive.

There is a good enough mystery to engage the reader revolving around a bomber that brings some suspense, but for me, I just liked the relationship between these two main characters. It's not necessarily deep. There is something very sweet and innocent about Connor and Everly's interactions that I enjoy. I ended the book with a smile on my face.

Your attention is immediately captivated by Army EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) Landry Cooper who is in the middle of a harrowing situation in Iraq that blows up on him.. Literally.

Current day Landry is part of a SWAT team made up of werewolves. He’s watched 3 of his pack mates find their “one” but remains cynical that he’d ever do the same. Imagine his surprise when he finds her standing in line at a bank that’s soon to be robbed. He and his SWAT team also become involved in helping the FBI with a bombing.

Everly Danu didn’t know what to think about the hunky SWAT guy that saved her life. All she knew was she was very attracted to him. Everly and Landon were so sweet together. I loved the twist that ended up causing problems for them.

This was another strong addition to the series that little by little gives us a more insight into the history of how the wolves came to be and the 3 distinct kinds of them along with giving us great suspense with the SWAT stories and of course great romances.

I was hoping for Cooper's story after finishing the 3rd book in the series. I liked the element Tyler threw in with Everly's family knowing about werewolves. I hope more about this comes to light about people hunting werewolves. I also like the mythology of these wolves. Similar to the ones in Vampire Dairies (they have to kill someone for their werewolf gene to kick in). Humans have a werewolf gene and when something happens to them bring them close to death they "turn".

Abby Craden continues to do a good job with the narration.

To Love a Wolf is the fourth book in Paige Tyler SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) series – featuring EOD/IED specialist Landry Cooper. It can be read as stand-alone, although I recommend you to try the previous books, just to be around the gorgeous Alpha team of wolves *laugh*.

Considering that this series has a theme of Soul-Mate or The One, it involves very heavily on insta-love between the hero and heroine, where they fall in love with one another within span of days.. However, what makes it work is that Paige Tyler also brings different ‘problems’ in between the romance. It somehow dilutes the insta-love effect.

In this case, it also helps that Cooper and Everly have a very strong sexual chemistry! From the moment they exchange conversation at the bank where they first meet, the sparks between them just sizzle. It’s easy to believe in these two – and the relationship feels natural, like I know that they are just meant to be. Disregarding the fast process of falling in love, it just works.

I loved Cooper so much – he is the person in SWAT team that everyone turns to when they have problems, he’s observant, loyal, and just wonderful. I also loved Everly for being strong-headed and willing to stand up to her family when needed. I loved them together, their banters are fun. I LOVED when Cooper brings Everly to the ‘best date ever’ one night and then teaches her to rappel the next.

It doesn’t mean that it’s an easy road to true love for the two, though. Cooper’s secret identity (of being a werewolf) ends up driving a wedge between them and Everly’s family, which has a strong reason why they want to keep her away from Cooper. This brings a different kind of emotional turbulent for the relationship, and it was SO GOOD.

On top of that, there is also a case that Cooper is involved with, as he helps FBI division to find out bomber who killed a Dallas PD cop. I had to admit that during the climax, some of Landry’s words to Everly just made me all teary-eyed. Such a sap I am *laugh*.

It’s another enjoyable installment of the series. I am definitely in for the next book – and I wonder who the hero will be next.

To Love A Wolf is book four in this series. Let's just say that this one got off to an explosive start and the action never let up in this fast paced thriller.

Back before Landry Cooper was a werewolf he was an EOD specialist in the army. He was blown up in a traumatic event that turned him into an alpha wolf. Now he works with the rest of his alpha pack as a SWAT officer for the Dallas PD. So far in this series Cooper has had the worst luck of being blown up or shot up or getting caught in the middle of a bank robbery. Which brings me to how he finally met The One. Cooper saved Everly from being taken hostage in a bank robbery gone wrong. The chemistry was off the charts for these two but it takes a minute for Cooper to realize that she is the one woman destined to be his mate. It was nearly love at first sight until Everly's family realized Cooper's secret and tried to kill him. There was some family drama and bad stuff that got dug up and also a dangerous situation from Cooper's past.

As usual, this story was brilliantly developed with a plot that was sexy and suspenseful and loaded with action, thrills and twists. Paige Tyler threw a few surprises into this one and just when I had it all figured out the story would take an unexpected turn. Then she also introduced a previously unmentioned threat and delved deeper into the mythology of the werewolves. I'm thinking this probably means exciting changes in the near future.

To Love A Wolf is my favorite book in the series. There wasn't a moment where I could lay my kindle down. For me that's the best kind of story.

Artist Everly Danu and SWAT Officer Landry Cooper had a cute enough meet. They circled first date territory, while in line at a bank, several would be robbers decide it’s the perfect time for them to get to work. Not to be sidetracked, as soon as he foils the robbery, Cooper gets back to Everly to confirm the date and get her number.

Hearing about the thwarted robbery on the news, Everly's father and four over-protective brothers are anxious to meet the man who saved the family princess. Amid Everly and Cooper’s flirty, sensual and sexy new relationship, her family goes from warm and fuzzy to frigid within 30 seconds of meeting Cooper and the why isn’t exactly clear.

Everly fits neatly into Cooper's life and friendships on the SWAT team as the pair realizes they're the mutual legendary 'One' for each other. Saddled with leave and mandatory psychiatric visits after the botched robbery, Cooper busies himself by using his explosives knowledge to help stop a sophisticated bomb maker and a rash of bombings.

Meanwhile an old army buddy comes to town and gives Cooper more than a little to think about. Everly’s family take things to another level to drive the couple apart. Through it all, Cooper has to come up with an answer to his quandary of just how to say the three little words that aren't ‘I love you’.

Cooper (and Becker) was one of my favorite SWAT member since I started reading this series. Thus, I had high hope for the fourth installment of SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) stories where Landry Cooper stepped up as the lead character. Turned out Cooper was not as observant as I thought. I mean, in the previous books he seemed to be the one who pick up the signs first among his pack, but apparently when it came to himself... *smh* he was not as sharp! On top of that, he seemed to pick a short straw on "The One" drawing so far. The woman (he got) was gorgeous, sexy and all those perhaps, but she seemed rather dense and superficial, imho.

Everly Danu was a one-track-mind kind of girl when it came to Cooper. At least the author came up with a few hurdles that Cooper and Everly didn't jump into bed straight away. But frankly, when she hurt Cooper and told him to stay away, I was cheering and told Cooper to look for other woman. Well. Of course it didn't work like that. *snorts*

Cooper's The One also came with baggage of the family variety. I thought this - the family - would play an interesting twist, with their family heirloom and Everly's compartmentalized loss of memory. Unfortunately, until end of the pages it wasn't clear what's with the Danus - were they shifter hunter? - or how they had that family heirloom that could reveal werewolf true nature. Something to explore in the next books? Probably. Hopefully. The family's appearance should not stop after this book, their knowledge might come in handy.

And another thing I found lacking on Everly: the not enough of grovelling. On this matter, I berated Cooper's quick forgiveness yet applauded him of his big heart at the same time (then again, I loved Cooper, no surprise there). Prior to their estrangement, I thought Everly only saw Cooper as sexual object; like she got excited whenever they were close or thought of him. Even after the catastrophic blow up and they were finally together again, I still didn't think of her in favorable way.

Besides Cooper and Everly we met again with Cooper's squad members - surprisingly not as much of Becker, the supposedly Cooper's best-friend in the team - and their mates/pack; an old friend of Cooper from his Army EOD time; Dr. Delacroix, a psychologist with an interesting mannerism (I would love there to be a book to pair her with one of the SWAT member in the future); and IA Detective Coletti, the SWAT team's nemesis (he's aggravating and a pain in the ass, but I couldn't shake the feeling there'd be more of this man too).

All the above mentioned gave this installment interesting plot. That saying, it grieved me that Cooper and his werewolf's instinct was not at his top form here. Quite a few crucial misses happened that were totally out of characters of the Cooper I knew. Like, instead of completing him, his The One made him and reckless and sloppy. True, that made him appearing more human, and some heartbreaking in life could not be avoided, but still...

Drawbacks aside, I certainly would still follow this series and wait with bated breath who would come to the spotlight next. :)

Paige Tyler's books are always quick reads for me. It has nothing to do with the page count, but everything to do with her pacing and the amount of action she infuses. It keeps the story moving along at a fast clip. I love these types of books and authors that having the story pace down pat. But now, on to the plot!

In this fourth installment of the SWAT series, the team is assisting the FBI with the investigation of several bombings around town. While the culprit was predictable, it did not detract from the story. In fact, I think knowing who the culprit was helped us form a stronger emotional connection to our hero, because you knew he was going to be very conflicted over this situation.

Speaking of our hero... he has been the listening ear, crying shoulder, and adviser for the SWAT wolves in previous books of the series. It's Cooper! Finally Cooper is finding his own love match after counseling his teammates on love throughout the series. I loved Landry Cooper. He not only has all those yummy alpha werewolf characteristics of strength, protectiveness and downright badassery... but he is also able to discuss this thoughts and feelings on a much higher level than his SWAT brethren. He's an alpha communicator!

Cooper meets his "The One" fated mate in the midst of a bank robbery, and their relationship steamrolls from there. He spends lots of time over the next few days with Everly Danu, an artist and graphic designer. Everly seemed like a cool chick. She's the youngest child of five in a family that immigrated from France, and she's the only female. Having lost her mother at a young age, Everly has been coping with an four overprotective brothers and father ever since. She had some spunk though and would stand up to the boys when needed... and I was digging her sass and willingness to accept Cooper's dangerous job.

While the relationship does get cemented fairly quickly, it didn't feel like instalove to me. I liked the time that Cooper and Everly spent together, and it was great that they didn't jump right into the sack. However, Everly's family gets in the way and acts like prejudicial judgmental douchebags. I know they have their reason for thinking that Cooper is a monster... but it seemed flimsy to me and I hated them. But Everly was the one I was most disappointed in. She goes off half-cocked calling Cooper a monster and ignoring all the time they spent together and the fact that... HELLO - he saved her life! It was enough for me to write her off as a likable character. I still loved Cooper though, but I hated that she and her family treated him so poorly. He even had tears in his eyes people! Alpha tears! No bueno.

I am quite interested in this new character that has been introduced though, Psychologist Hadley Delacroix. This lady seems sharp as a tack, and I have a feeling she either knows about the team's furry nature, or suspects. I have a feeling that either she gets furry herself or she will be The One for one of our other alphas. I can't wait to find out!

A suppressed memory can tear them apart but the heart knows what it wants.

This is the fourth installment in the SWAT series by Ms. Tyler and one that I have been waiting for. I think I fell in love with Cooper from the moment that he risked his own life saving a little girl. I knew his story was going to be amazing but what I didn’t expect was the twist with his “One”.

Landry Cooper was lucky to be alive after serving in the military. He was now part of the SWAT team and he at times found himself wondering if he would ever find the “One”. Some of his teammates had found their soulmates but he still hadn’t. Cooper has been working with the FBI since he has a background in bombs but something was about to rattle his world.

Everly Danu was about to live a horrific experience will at the bank. There was this handsome hunk that she was attracted to and he was asking her out but then robbers showed up. She couldn’t believe what was happening this handsome man was fighting 4 men in order to keep them safe but then the fifth one showed up and almost took her hostage.

Cooper and Everly had this intense attraction to each other but they seemed to dance around it. It was not that they didn’t want to tear each other’s cloths off but I think that Landry wanted to take it slow. I liked that they were trying to get to know each other. So when someone from the past shows up looking for Cooper I loved how Everly didn’t mind for him to tag along and have dinner with them. I knew that he was important to Cooper because he was the person that saved his life in the military. But then that’s when things get interesting because it’s time for him to meet the Everly’s father and 4 brothers. She had already told Cooper the story about how her mother had passed away and them leaving France and them coming to live in the United States. I really thought that everything was going great it seemed that the father and brothers liked him but then something happened. I didn’t understand what was happening but then everything made sense.

Now as for Cooper and him helping the FBI things were getting interesting especially after the second bomb. He needed to watch his back because what was happening was not good.

To Love a Wolf was an excellent read. I love it when I am able to connect with the characters emotionally. Their relationship grew over time but there were going to be obstacles that they would have to overcome. They are going to struggle with the decisions that they need to make. Now as for their chemistry they were hot together and they were meant to be together no matter what. Ms. Tyler’s writing is beautiful and effortless.

I can’t wait to see who is next in finding the “One”.

This series just gets better and better. Ms. Tyler is an automatic read for me. Her Special Wolf Alpha Series is filled with sexy hawt men and the women who bring them to heel. This story can be read as a standalone but it will be better if read in order because of the characters in the SWAT team. In the this latest installment, Cooper finds his "One". Everly is the one Cooper wants but there is a problem. Her family knows about werewolves and they hate them. Not just hate them, but turns into savage killers hates them. They have reason to and it is a secret which they keep from Everly.

The romance in this story is filled with tension. Between the sexual tension and family conflict, it adds a level of heat and frustration for the two characters. I like this because it invokes more emotions in me so that I enjoy the story better. I have liked Cooper since the beginning. Eager to see "his book", I was a bit stunned to see where this story went. I didn't realize it was going to be a Romeo Juliet type of theme. This is a hard conflict to overcome because both sides of the story have their merit. It is hard to be upset with Everly's family when her past is revealed. However, this is a case with a more subtle message. For me, it is, just because one person from a group of people does something bad, doesn't mean everyone in that group is bad. I like this message and how Cooper demonstrates he is more than worthy to be the man for Everly.

The suspense part of this story with the whole crime fighting is something I still adore. I really enjoy when the story incorporates the SWAT team's job. Having cases and insight into the inner workings of an elite team keeps me interested and wanting to learn more. It is obvious Ms. Tyler researches and knows her material. This adds a layer of authenticity which enables me to enjoy the book even more. Between the well written plot and the character driving story, this book will lure a reader to read it from beginning to end without stopping. Recommended to romantic suspense readers who enjoy shifters who are star-crossed lovers.

ARC REVIEW

I absolutely love this series. I love the everything about it; the direction Paige Tyler went with the shifters, they are not typical shifter types. I love Landry Cooper, I have since the first book, and I have been (not so) patiently waiting for his book. But the wait was worth it! Tyler's writing style as always addictive. Fast paced action to grip you into the story; romance to make you swoon and break your heart a little when it has to then completely makes it up to you.

Landry Cooper has been there for three of his pack mates when they found their "The One" as a sounding board and a confidant, now it's time to find his. Everly was pleasantly surprised when the hot cop standing behind her in line at the bank asked her out, she was even more surprised when he ended up saving her life during a bank robbery minutes later. Everything is all sunshine and roses from the start with Landry and Everly. Landry knows beyond a doubt that Everly is "The One" and he's preparing himself for revealing his secret to her and hope for the best. Enter the conflict...
Everly's family.

Everly has very overprotective brothers and a father, they have been since the brutal murder of her mother when she was little. Introducing Landry to them was suppose to be easy, they would love him just as much as she loves him. But almost immediately they try to break them apart and they aren't shy about using force to do it. When Landry is forced to reveal himself before he was ready it just may have cost him the HEA he was looking for with Everly.

Also in the story is a wedding....
It was very nicely done and didn't take away from Landry and Every's story, it was a nice touch to see Mac and Gage get married.

Overall, this was another great action packed romance. Love it. Can't wait for more.

This is the fourth book in the SWAT: Special Alpha Wolf series. These books don't have to be read in order but they are set around a SWAT team so the characters all appear in each others books.

Cooper has seemed to be the go-to guy of the other members of the SWAT team when they find their 'one' and need help. So it seems only fair that he gets to find his one fairly soon in the series. (And yes, book four is soon when you consider how many SWAT guys there are.) When Cooper meets Everly he doesn't automatically realize that she is his one but he is very attracted to her and is a bit overprotective when you consider he just met her. Everly too is attracted to Cooper more so than she every has been to another man and she just considers herself very lucky. Of course she doesn't know he's a wolf shifter.

Everything is going well for them until she takes him to meet her family. Once her brothers and Dad meet him they take as almost instant dislike to him and continually warn Everly away from Cooper. That's about all I can say without giving anything away.

I did really enjoy this book. The beginning has a great action sequence and grabs your attention right from the start. The characters are interesting and engaging. There are some nice twists and turns throughout the book and had me on the edge of my seat as the book came to its climax. I like how all the books in this series are different from one another. It doesn't feel like the same story or the same characters. Each book is exciting and I can't wait to see who and what comes next!

I adore Paige Tyler's SWAT series and this new installment, To Love a Wolf, makes a brilliant addition. Throughout the series, Landry Cooper has been the thoughtful sage of the group. He is the one that his fellow SWAT officers seek out for advice and counsel. I was always curious about the je ne sais quoi that made up the man. And FIANLLY, with book 4 in the series we get to read his story.

To Love a Wolf is jam packed with action from beginning to end. It begins with a back robbery and ends with an explosion with several hair raising moments in between. This story has a bit of something for everyone -- action, adventure, shapeshifters, and romance. The balance between them all was masterfully crafted. And speaking of romance, let me just say that the fireworks between Cooper and Everly were potent. Although their romance and jouney to love was quick, as is often the nature of paranormals in fiction, the slow burn build up to it was exceptional. Cooper was so sweet to Everly but he totally rocked her world when it came down to it. Unfortunately, things are never that easy for protagonists who only want to "be in love." Everly's OVERLY protective family and a blast from Cooper's past almost drive them apart forever. But the Cooper's steadfast love and Everly's determination to overcome her fear allows their love to triumph.

This was another amazing read from Tyler and this series just keeps getting better!

I could sum this book up in four words: Alpha Males Shirtless Volleyball! Picture it…NOW!

I COULD sum TO LOVE A WOLF up in four words but there are so many exciting, dangerous and sexy happenings going on that I don’t think I could pick adequate enough words to do it justice.

I absolutely love the series and Landry Cooper is probably one of my favorite SWAT wolves! He is charming and devastatingly handsome but what I love most about Cooper is his rock steady presence. You can see it throughout the series. Cooper is always there when his pack mates need him. He’s faithful, trustworthy, loyal and an all-around good guy. I loved him!

Everly is a strong heroine with beautiful soul. She paired with Cooper beautifully and I loved her too! Cooper and Everly have some serious obstacles to overcome and it was a joy to follow their journey into happily ever after. The supporting cast was also brilliant and vital to the story. I thought it was amazing!

TO LOVE A WOLF is exciting, sexy, heartfelt and wildly entertaining. I loved the story and I can’t wait for the next one! If you love strong characters, solid plot-building and sexy-as-sin alpha male wolves, then you’ll definitely enjoy this story. It is part of a series, but can easily be read as a standalone! So…what are you waiting for?

Addicting Series

To Love a Wolf is the 4th book in the SWAT series, a paranormal romance with a military/law enforcement trope. Each book is a stand alone novel and even though they share interconnecting characters they don't have to be read in order. This book is action packed, has suspense, some family drama, hot chemistry, wonderful characters and a HEA. The men are Alphas, the women are strong and the wit between both are humorous.

Landry Cooper and Everly Danu meet while in line at the bank, Cooper asks her out and she tells him it will be his best date ever! Then several men attempt to rob it, one man grabs Everly, Cooper reacts and saves her and all the innocent people.
The date turns out to be great and Cooper realizes she may be "The One". They spend every spare minute together and can't keep their hands off each other. Things are going great when her father and brothers forbid her to see Cooper after he looks into an ancient mirror. She's old enough to make her own decisions and tells them so. Her brothers tell her he is a Werewolf, like the man that killed their mom and she breaks up with him.
Will Everly realize that Cooper is not a monster or will it be to late to be "The One"?
