The princess is awake… so are her demons. Shadowing the grim reemergence of Princess Arinadya is the looming destruction of mankind. The planet is on the cusp of devastating change and Prince Mikhail is at the helm. While Sevrick and his ragged band of survivors plot how to save Russia from their underground hideout, Mikhail is plotting world domination from the safety of his gilded haeman kingdom. The Spread is the thrilling, action-packed sequel to Haemans, the dystopian urban-fantasy from Nicoline Evans. It is a story for the undone who have stitched themselves back together. It’s for those who have mustered the courage to persevere despite their unraveling. This is a story for those who overcome.
I hate I'm finished reading. The author does an amazing job with characters and the story. It could have been a much longer series. But the story of Rina and Sev is done.
This was amazing. The first book was great but I think this one was better. The way the characters developed throughout the story was perfect. My hatred of Mikhail only grew which I’m sure was the point. I think it was perfect as a duology and I’m glad it wasn’t dragged out. I can’t wait to read more of Nicoline’s books.
You know the book is good when you get mad at the characters for making mistakes. I was on the edge of my seat through most of the book, yelling In my head at the characters. Amazing story! Great ending. Loved this book so much.
Oh my goodness! First off I’m glad that I got the chance to meet the author and have my book signed at bookcon. The book trailer looked amazing!
Secondly, I’m happy that this ends off as a duology rather than longer. I feel like this was a satisfying ending for a crazy ride of a book. In the end, people got what they deserved and legacy’s live on. I loved the first book and the second one was a great companion. I’m definitely checking out more of the authors works.
I have to start by saying Nicoline's writing is engaging, it really pulls you in the story and you want to continue reading solely based on her description of everything. But the story wasn't as impressive as I had expected it to be. It touches on multiple points that are brilliant eg. linking the mass shooting with heamanism but at the same time there are many loopholes, like how in the world were the heamans able to transport such large shipments without anyone noticing. And at times many things felt like they were a child's play for the bad guys which in my opinion isn't a fair fight. The book was long and I had to skip pages but nevertheless I wanted to see how it ends so I continued. I am a big fan of indie authors (being one myself) and I would recommend this as a one time read, but not something that you would regret if you missed.
